A Pose Method warm-up drill where you rock forward onto your forefoot until your heel lifts, then back onto your heels until your toes lift. The coach emphasizes tall posture, soft hips and knees, and ankle awareness to build body-weight perception and balance before running.

So as we work on the Pose positioning and transitioning into running using the Pose Method, what we want to be— what we want to focus on is our positioning relative to our center of mass and finding our center of gravity. And so basically what we're going to try to do is work on finding our center of mass and just work on some changes of support in a very straight line, nice tall upright posture. And so you're going to see me kind of rock forward right to the point where my heels start to come off the ground. You're going to feel me I'm going to load my forefoot and I'm going to push back onto my heels to the point where my heel, my toes start coming off the ground, and then we're just going to kind of rock back and forth and feel the involvement that my foot has in my balance. From the side, you'll be able to see as we shift, the heels will come off the ground and I'm catching myself on my toes. And then I'm pushing myself back, loading the heels, and we're just going to work on this body weight perception, just kind of rocking back and forth and feeling the ankle involvement. Right now we're keeping soft hips, soft knees, and just rocking back and forth and just practicing this. This is a good warm-up drill to just get that body weight perception going and feeling that toe and forefoot involvement in our running so that we get into this nice soft position, and then we can start transitioning into— Forward. Our movement from there.
