Sean Clayton argues against the common injunction to "not take things personal," proposing instead a spiritual reframe: take things personal as an opportunity to alchemize others' pain into love and self-healing. He contrasts a defensive historic way (disconnecting and building walls) with a new approach—being a "clean vessel" that asks, "How is this love? Why did I create this to love myself more?" Practical guidance includes building boundaries as bridges, using reflection to catalyze others' growth, and treating painful experiences as mirrors for one’s own healing. The episode mixes theoretical framing, personal trauma examples, and clear takeaways.

So we are back on another episode of Daily Alchemy here. This is going to be a fun one. I'm excited to talk about how we take things personal. So there's a lot of different writings out there and perspectives on don't take things personal. Let it go. Make sure you don't take other people's feelings and bring them onto your own. And I have a bit of a problem with that. And for the longest time, I was that person. Where I actually struggle with this is, is that if we're all interconnected and we're all part of the same oneness and somebody else is hurting and I don't take it personal, then what does that really mean? I'm now disconnecting from that person. I've. I've worked the math on this many different ways and looked at it from a hundred different perspectives. And I keep disconnecting myself from the people around me. Does that mean I go into the muck with them and stay in the pain with them? Not at all. But me taking it personal. And once again, we got to look at the definition of what taking it personal really means. And so I went back to the epidemiology of this and looked at. Taking it personal is not like I'm. I have to be offended by it. I can actually take something and turn it into love immediately. And this goes back into another topic. We don't move through the world. The world moves through us. So when we recognize that the world is moving through us, we are the great alchemizers of all the energy that we actually receive. So we're constantly being bombarded with the love of God, the love of all, the love of Source. We're constantly being bombarded with all this energy around us. I was walking down the street last night and the wind just started blowing on me. And it was so cool to feel that when you actually recognize the miracle of it. Because it's something that you feel that you can't see. And what that reminds me of is the fact that everything in our life is intended for us. And that would be the same as us disconnecting from source all God, and creating our own little siloed effect. And that's where we actually start the process of suffering. If we continually disconnect from that which was intended for us, we end up in our own suffering island. In that island, we are alone in that island, we are not emanating the reflection of what created us that is constantly connected through every infinite possibility. So let's connect that back with the Topic at hand of taking it personal. Now, I'm going to talk about this through two different lanes. One, there's the historic way of taking it personal, and then there's the new age way of taking it personal. If I take it personal by constantly being offended by things, is it really that person or is it really how I'm alchemizing it? Is it my problem within myself? And so when somebody says don't take it personal, what ends up happening is you create a distance or a space from the people around you to where you stop connecting with them and you stop loving them and you stop transmuting this flow and this energy and this creation mechanism between them. And now you take it all within. And that's a very selfish way of being. There's a book that I'm reading called the Master Key System, and it talks about the ability to accumulate. But you also have to be able to give to accumulate. You are a vessel and you are a container. And you were built here as a very specific, expansive individual. But you also have to learn how to create space to build more space. If we're in the process of constantly accumulating, it could be anything from the aspect of accumulation. So it could be I'm gonna accumulate a bunch of wealth. Well, if I accumulate a bunch of wealth, at some point, I've accumulate so much wealth that if I'm not in the process of giving, as that wealth comes in, I'm not learning how to take. I'm going to call it, I don't like using words like good or bad, but high energetic wealth accumulation versus low energetic wealth accumulation. And let's use an example of that. Let's say I'm doing something very low vibration, like committing fraud. I could accumulate a lot of that money. But then at some point, because I'm not actually alchemizing that into loving energy, it's going to collapse on top of me. And what is it going to do is going to corrode myself. If I'm doing something very high vibration, accumulating wealth within that, I'm also going to recognize that I need to give a lot of that away. And so in this process of what we're talking about, of taking it personal, if we're taking in, let's say, low vibration energy and we're constantly bombarding ourselves with it, and we're not giving it back away, and we're not transmuting that back into love, what's going to happen? We're going to corrupt ourselves. It's no different Than taking in wealth. Or if you eat a bunch of fast food and it's low vibration food, then of course it's going to happen to your body. You're hurting yourself. So if we do take in personal information and we're not having the ability to alchemize that into love, then what ends up happening is that we end up hurting ourselves. Now the ability for us to take something personal, and I'm going to go into a new way of taking it personal, is when you're such a clean vessel, and clean meaning that you have such a heightened sense of self awareness, of self love, that the first thing that you do when anything hits your desk or hits your mind or hits your thought pattern, whatever it might be, is the immediate question should be is how is this love? Why is this love? Why did I create this to love myself more? So if you ask that question immediately, why did I create this to love myself more? The next thing that will happen is you'll turn back around and see that person as a reflection of love within yourself. You don't see that person as a downregulated state. You don't start to put distance between you and them and create a mass amount of separation between them. You actually are in a constant state of receivership and you're constantly transmuting it into love. Now the beautiful thing that'll happen when you do this is that when you show up as such a clean mirror to them, two things will happen. One, they'll shift and they'll change immediately. And that's the intention of you constantly putting a loving thought on a present moment. So the present moment is that I'm not going to take it personal. I'm going to disregard you. I'm not going to take it personal. I'm going to build a boundary around myself so you're not close to me. And boundaries are good. I'm not saying that they're not. But the boundary should be built with a bridge of love. And if the boundary is built with a bridge of love that allows you to actually ride that bridge over the top, what will happen is that you will start to connect with that person differently. The other option is that person starts to run away because they got to do the self work. So you taking things personal means that you have the ability to be such a clean mirror. You are constantly connecting with the world outside of you. You are constantly connecting in such a loving and a high vibration way that two things happen. One, the people run away from you because they can't look at Themselves because they know they got go do the self work, right? And then at that point you can guide them, you can help open a door for them because they're going to ask a question because you're approaching them with such intention and such love that their soul is going to be like, okay, I have questions for you. I, I don't understand why this isn't breaking you, why this isn't hurting you. It's a very hard state to stay in, I'm going to be honest with you. But once you can master this, you stop becoming a co creator in their victim circumstance. And that victim circumstance is just a moment. That moment has drafted off some memories that they have. And then what happens is now you get hyper vortexed into their memory bank. You're now in their childhood trauma with them working through that. Traditionally in some fear based construct, you guys are fighting with each other and then you end up walking away and then that becomes the thing. Well, don't take it personal because it's not your problem. But the thing we have to remember is it is our problem because we are them and they are us. And there's something in us that we have to fix within ourselves. So we should take things personal, but we have to take them personal while constantly being able to alchemize through the lens of love. And if we can constantly alchemize through the lens of love by asking the questions, how is this love, why is this love? And why did I create this to love myself more? When we can answer those questions over and over and over and over and over again and everything that we see, then we have the ability to connect in such a high vibration way that we're not pushing people away, we're bringing them in. And when we can bring them in, we've turned the thing of taking it personal into an offense thing. Because the offense is the fact that we're seeing it through some negative self love pattern within ourselves, that we're connecting to that negative self love pattern with them. And we're like, well, that's not my problem, that's their problem. And I got to do this self work on myself. And because you're actually seeing them go through it, there's something in you that's creating that for you. That's the really chaotic part about it. Like when I see a homeless person, there's something in me that is creating that for me. When I see something on the news like a school shooting or some, you know, racial crime, or I see anything that is very painful to the world. The problem with that is that there's something in me that I have to heal, and that healing has to happen in an instant, in a moment. And why did I create it for me to love myself more? When we actually understand the reason, we can path our way to love, and that is the biggest difference. And we have to start understanding that love is not just this feeling. It is a feeling, but love is beyond a feeling. Love is a vibration. Love is an energetic state. Love is this beautiful energy that is so far beyond anything that we could ever imagine that it has pain and pleasure built into, has anger and it has shame, and it has acceptance and willingness and everything built into it. It all lives underneath it. All of the guilt we feel is part of love. And the thing of it is that when we actually get trapped in one of those, we can't path our way up into the next one for any of you. And I've talked about this on a couple of other podcasts, but the Hawking scale of consciousness shows everything that love contains, and it's everything underneath it. And then love is actually contained by enlightenment. Enlightenment's a whole other thing. We're all on the quest of that, and we're all in the pathway of being very enlightened within our container of selves, which we are. And it all has different perspectives of it, but the reality of it is enlightenment contains all things. And then underneath that, love contains a subset of that enlightenment. And then if you understand all the things underneath that, they're all subsets of love. And so when we understand that they're subsets of love, we can start understanding why we created that. And then what we have to do is get on that ladder to walk our way up to that. That constant station of love. And then at which point we take everything personal because we know that it's a reflection of us. We don't turn it into our problem. We turn it into our healing. And we pass that healing back out because we have it disconnected from the human beings around us. We end up in a state to where we have boundaries, but those boundaries are with requirements for us to love ourselves more. But when you show that mirror to somebody and you are so clear, they will either run for the hills or they will start asking questions, or they will heal themselves when they run for the hills. They can't run away from themselves, because eventually they're going to end up facing more of themselves over and over. And then at which point they're going to come back to the person or to that reflection of what loved them the most? And they're going to start asking questions. If we look at an example of that. God, for instance, is constantly showing a clear reflection of us when we stand in the mirror of God, or the mirror of all, or the mirror of Source, whatever you want to call it, or the mirror of some higher enlightened being that we want to connect it with. We don't have to use the word God. A lot of people get to get weirded out about it. But I'm just going to use it as an example that when we look at that perspective, if we are not within tune with ourselves, we run away. And when we run away, we end up saying, okay, I'm going to try to find the answer everywhere else. But you know what the weird thing is? Is all Source created all this stuff around us for us to see ourselves as a reflection of ourselves, which is why we stay in this constant loop of suff suffering. And if we see it all as love, and we see it was all created out of love, then we can go back and connect it and say, oh, okay, I get what you were doing and why you showed me that. And that's why I end up using perspectives of my life. Because it's like, okay, well, I was raped and sexually abused when I was young. I went to federal prison. I tried to take my life several times. I ended up in all of these tumultuous relationship. All my creation, every one of them. And I created every single one of them for me to love myself more. So I could see it as is now. And what I could see it as is now, I could start to actually create a different perspective of that. So the key takeaways are constantly ask yourself the question why I created this. To love myself more. Number two, stop disconnecting from all the humans around. You build boundaries, right? But those boundaries are bridges, not walls. And when you can build bridges, then you invite other individuals over. But they have to understand that there's a toll they have to pay to cross that bridge. And that toll is the reflection. Reflection of seeing themselves as their pure selves. If you start pushing them away based on the fact that your mirror isn't clean and you can't deal with their stuff because you don't want to take it personally, because you can't transmute that as a great alchemizer, that you are back into love, then that's on you. And then you'll be on this island by yourself, in pain and suffering and quiet, in solitude. And that is not what the intention of Source God is it's to love, let go. Continue to be a creator, not control anything, constantly influence everything, but do it with the actual intention of the mind, the understanding of how it all works together, and a loving energy that applies over the entire construct to where we are now, creating a beautiful balance in our lives. Thank you so much for listening and I love you.
