The Evolution of Consciousness: From 'I Am' to 'We Are'
5 Sept 2023 · 18 min
Sean Clayton argues you must master self-love before you can truly think collectively. He uses metaphors like chessboards and tidal waves to show how shifting from "I am" to "we are" aligns your purpose with others' wellbeing, and offers practical prompts like adding "we are" to your affirmations.

Welcome back to Daily Alchemy and I'm your host, Sean Clayton. We are venturing into season two and probably what you'll notice on this season is we're going to venture into some groundbreaking concepts, some ideas, some information that there's not a whole lot out there to substantiate it, honestly. So if you're looking for something, something to prove, something to exist, you're not going to find it in this one. I will start to use logic though, and I will map that logic into what I consider magic and really venture into something that I've researched it, looked around on it, googled it, and I haven't found anything that really substantiates it. So these are going to be some pretty esoteric ideas, but all very what I call integrated esoteric ideas. That one, I would love for you as the audience to really bounce back, whether it's in my social, whether it's in some of the commentary after the episodes. But this is going to be a kind of run fast, get out there over our skis a little bit and see if we can all get our physical selves to catch up. What I'm sensing in this is that it will resonate like crazy with your higher self, with the God force that you are, and with the creator that you are. So this is all moving from what I call being the I am. And you'll see a lot of that in religious texts, whether it's Moses, whether it's some aspects of Buddhism, whether it's Jesus, whatever you want to call it. There's a lot of I am statements out there. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with the I am statement because in order for us to become where I'm about to take us, we have to understand who we are. And the cool thing about it is, is once you see what's possible, what I feel and know honestly is that it'll be a lot easier for us to step into those I am statements to start to walk in a non negotiable self love. Because it's now starting to understand what the four minute mile looks like, if you want to call it that. It's starting to understand how fast we can all move and it helps us understand how big all of this can be. And so we're gonna move into what I call the we are statements. And in the we are statements on this first episode, we're gonna go deep into how we transition from the I am to the we are. Why the we are even should exist at this point, because you don't see a lot of it in a lot of religious texts or spiritual texts. It's very much so self love, self love, self love, which is absolutely a non negotiable. And we can't get to the we are if we're not to the I am. So that's the hard part about it. But if we know how to tangibly start to see the we are and start to create what I call rhythmic states of permanence around the we are, what starts to happen is that the I am just drafts into it and it's easier for us to embody that I am because if we go from what I guess we would consider in a societal perspective is you are or pointing at everybody else to pointing inward. So if I'm pointing out historically and the pointing out doesn't include me, which is a lot of the blame game, the gossip, the way that we live in fear, it's an aspect of separation. And then I go into this point of what I call singularity, which is the I am, right, and that I am is really moving into a space of no ego, becoming nobody. Dr. Joe Dispenza talks about this. You go from somebody to nobody to everybody. So going from somebody to nobody to everybody. I'm taking us from you are to I am to we are. And that you are is pointing the blame away. And you actually being disassociated from singularity to stepping into singularity to understand that I am the creator of everything in my life. And that's like a really challenging transition because the illusion of everything, like even I'm sitting at my desk right now, the water bottle is separate from me. It's not part of me. If I don't drink this water bottle right now, I'm going to remain thirsty. And that's even a bit of a false truth because I was walking my dog tonight with Sophia and we were walking down the street and saw a good friend and he said he wasn't feeling well, so don't get too close to him. And he said, I'm dry fasting right now. And so I asked him a little bit more about it, which I know a little bit about it, but not to his depth. And he said, you know, the fat in your body has all the water that it ever needs. And so I can actually quench my thirst by actually dry fasting and starting to pull a lot of the toxins out of my bodies that release and do the things that I need while also keeping myself hydrated. And there's scientific evidence about around this, if we need to prove that out. But this is also something that a lot of what we see these religious leaders and masters and spiritual masters do in order to really go through this process of cleansing. So then you ask yourself, well, do I actually need the bottle of water that's separate from me? Or am I already part of that bottle of water based on all of the, what I call footprints that I have laid over life in order to have enough water held in my body now so that I can actually live on, that I can do something from the central state of being. I know that was a little bit out there, but one of the things that I do recognize is that we have everything that we need literally inside of us right now. So once we go from the separation to the wholeness of self to the wholeness of all, what starts to happen with us is we start to see what I call the grid of the Matrix a lot easier. And I'm gonna round this over and over again through a couple of different laws of the universe, or the laws of you, as I call them, or the hermetic principles. And one of them that's gonna ground it out in a really big way as we go through this we are statement is around the law of correspondence. And so if we can start to understand how things in life, no matter what they are corresponding from as you do one thing, you do all things, then we start to see how the we are proliferates itself out into this infiniteness and expansiveness across not only the present moment that we live in, but every moment that has ever been created that we can actually impact from the we are state of awareness. So to walk a little bit further down this path, this that we are state of awareness is looking at the little things that you do. You become so entrained into the love that you give, the love that you receive, the conversations that you have, the commitments that you make. And where I lay both of these out, and I have this one video out there that talks about divine purpose and grounded purpose. It's looking at things through intention and intuition and looking at things through integrity and integration. When we can start to understand that one grounds us in such a deep way in this earthly plane. And that's our grounded purpose, that's our integrity and our integration and being able to then call and into our spiritual self, into our divine purpose through our intention and our intuition allows us to stand in a whole state of being, able to expand our container of self, of our humanness, into a more expansive we are. So let's go through a couple of examples on this. So one example is you are in a relationship with your loved one. And in that relationship, in order for you to show up in a very whole way to be able to reflect a beautiful state of love to the loved one in your life is you have to have a very defined I am. You have to be such a whole loving person that it is very easy for you to reflect the wholeness of yourself so that that person, when they see you, sees the wholeness of love and that you, you can actually give them your best version of self. Now, when you are consistently in I AM statements and I've actually had this happen a lot is even in my relationship, what will take place is that I will be in such an I am state. And oftentimes what happens with the person in my life, my loved one is she will literally fight to start to receive what she needs from a we are perspective. And so to take that into a little bit more detail, let's say for instance, her and I get into a disagreement and I go in, I go within, I love myself, I do what I need to do, I clear that slate. But I do it from an I am state and that I am state. Even though as I do one things, I do all things. Right? As you do one thing, you do all things. What will end up happening is that person, until they actually start resonating with the same frequency as you, they will be because we are in a state of co creation, they will be in this shuttered state. Oftentimes what we do is we say, okay, if I see somebody that I love suffering, I'm going to make adjustments to myself to stop the suffering. I'm going to now change the integrity of myself in order to stop the suffering. And then we go from I am to you are and we lose ourselves. So the question would then be, how do I go from I am to we are? And we hold the state that we've created everything from, from the I am perspective in order to then go to the we are perspective so you're not losing yourself into the other person's suffering. That goes into really being able to engage with what I call intuition and integrity at the same time. So the intuition, what we have to do in that state is really engage with our intuition and our intention. And once we're able to call on that divine state of intuition and intention and that's gonna be that truly loving state that allows us to feel fully whole, how do we then turn back around and we integrate not just For I am, because we know it helps us to feel good individually, but for the we are, and it allows two or three more steps. Use the chessboard, for instance, as an example. If you're constantly just the I am on the chessboard. Say you're the queen on the chessboard and you're moving your pieces around and you don't think two or three steps ahead, what's gonna happen is, is once you actually move that piece all the way to, let's say, take the rook, whatever it might be, you end up taking that other chess piece. But if you don't take think two or three steps ahead, all of a sudden your queen gets taken. You are in a very I am state. You are very whole. You're doing exactly what the queen should be doing on that board, but you're not considering everything else on that board. You're not considering what the opposite energy is doing. You're not considering the other players on the board that can actually support and help. What do their moves look like? Are you blocking them? Are you helping? And so, in order for us to truly understand how the we are works, I reference the game of chess because it's a really beautiful space of correspondence, even the way that the board is built out. And we can get into that, into later episodes. But we think all the moves ahead, and we do it for the benefit of the all. We do it for the benefit of every player on that board in order to not only make sure that we are whole, but that they are whole and that they have fluency in movement. We have fluency and movement that that counter energy isn't collapsing us. And in those states, what will happen is now you're actually moving with integrity. You're saying, maybe I don't move 10 places and take that actual other piece. Maybe I move five and I position my knight to be able to actually move in this fluent space so that I can actually take another piece over here. So as I'm talking about my relationship, what I would then do? Let's say, for instance, let's say we're wanting to take a very specific trip. And the trip for me, I'll even use a very specific example. I really have always wanted to go to Machu Picchu. And for Sophia's birthday this year, I was planning the whole thing out, very much so in an IM state, planning the whole thing. Even she has wanted to go before. But what I didn't consider is how hard she had been working. All the things that she'd been doing before and going on a mountain hike, even though as probably spiritually fulfilling as it would be to go sit up on that mountain and do all those different things, probably not the most ideal space after two or three months of really hard work together. So what made more sense is for us to continue to take a vacation, for me to maybe not move the queen on the chessboard, 80 pieces to go and get this thing over here with this. This rook or this knight or whatever you wanted to call it. But really it was more so position us so that we can actually get in a different state of fluency. So we ended up planning a trip somewhere else that was a lot more relaxing, a lot less heavy on the feet, a lot more resort. Ish. And because it was her birthday, it allowed her to then get a little bit more rest and rejuvenation in a way that she hadn't before. Still a vacation, still a thing that we did, it came out significantly better. And that's just like a small example. But you kind of see how we individually, and it wouldn't have even been a selfish thing had we gone to Machu Picchu, because it's something we have been talking and raving about for years to go do. And it would have filled a very specific bucket. But it wasn't necessarily positioned from a we are perspective. Other things that we do, let's say, for instance, you know, we're looking to give toward charity. And there's a very specific example that's happening in my life around this, around justice reform. And when I think about justice reform, there's so many different areas that you can donate to. There's bail reform, there's gun reform, there's prison reform, there's all these different reform initiatives that are out there. And when I think about it from the we are statement perspective, if I solve in any individual one of those, it's solving that from I am. But it doesn't necessarily translate to the others. What a good buddy of mine and I came up with is the opportunity for us to say, okay, what is the common we are element that is cause for all these different societies to suffer? Well, it's an aspect of worthiness. So if we go and we actually create safety strategies and worthiness protocols for different communities. What ends up happening is that we don't have to go through all these reform initiatives because we're basically playing whack a mole with trauma there. All we have to do is actually get to the space of understanding what is the we are element. And everybody is looking to feel more worthy Everybody is looking for safety strategies. Everybody is looking to have those. And once you have those, the other issues go away. And even though there might be a little bit of a hangover period before it starts to kick in, once you put that rhythmic state of permanence in place, all of the other problems will eliminate themselves. So if we start to process things from a we are perspective, we're no longer playing whack a mole with the trauma in our lives. We're no longer playing whack a mole with us being in an I am state and essentially moving within the chessboard in a very incoherent way. And even though the way that we're moving oftentimes is exactly the way that our chess piece is supposed to move, and it's integrated exactly the way that it moves with that board, it doesn't consider the all. A couple of things that we can take away from this is imagine your life as a chess board. And if you don't know chess, watch a couple videos on it. There's some cool movies on Netflix. I forget the name of the movie, but it was great just watching how she actually moved across that board. And you start to see the correspondence of all the moves 50, 60 steps in advance. And once you actually set up that rhythm of being able to see the whole grid, what will happen is you'll start to be able to draft back into your life a different way of being. And at that moment of time, when it happens, it won't become difficult because it's not really a different way of thinking. And then the I am that you are will literally just draft into the we are elements. Because the we are that you build is you're building such a massive tidal wave that you're carrying all of the swell with you. You're carrying the surfers, you're carrying the sand, you're carrying everything the way that it needs to go with such a large amount of momentum. And that's where things start to shift in a really beautiful way. So when you wake up in the morning, if you do the I am statements, try we are. Just add we are to it. Because then it's. Instead of me saying, I am whole. I am worthy. I am love. We are worthy. We are whole. We are love. We are, we are, we are. And if we start saying we are over and over again, what will happen is the intention of the thoughts carried into the actual words, eliminating the polarity and the separation of self from the all moving through the lens of correspondence, considering the benefit of everybody. And then taking that into how we give and receive. We'll start to actually ground out our intention and our intuition into such a beautiful, integrated integrity of self that our grounded purpose will be so rooted in reality that it will be undeniable to the world how we start to show up. I encourage you to step into that this week. Use we are Use it in your conversations. Use it in your affirmations. Use it when you pray. Use it when you think. Use it when you meditate and watch how our world will start to change. I thank you so much for tuning in, and I love you.
