The Fourth Law: Balancing Life's Rhythms and Cycles
16 Oct 2023 · 21 min
Sean Clayton explores the Law of Rhythm, the idea that life moves in predictable cycles like a swinging pendulum across daily routines, generations, and markets. He suggests meditation, tracking your patterns, and learning to observe these rhythms so you can work with them instead of fighting against them.

Welcome to the Science of Abundance Daily Alchemy podcast. I'm your host, Sean Clayton, and my story's pretty interesting. Went through a ton of trauma, former incarceration, suicide attempts, sexual abuse in my life. And one of the things that's happened in my life is I've actually used hermetic principles, alchemy, all these really cool tools that we hear and we talk about, the Illuminati, whatever you want to call it, and develop practices in order to change and affect my lives differently. So within this podcast, I will be giving tidbits and bites for individuals to be able to bite into on a daily basis. That will allow you to take baby steps to change your life. But at some point, you'll find the door that starts to change the effect of how you show up on a daily basis. Enjoy this, give feedback, come to my Instagram comment, whatever it might be, always open because we wouldn't be here without each other. Please enjoy and thank you, and I love you. Welcome back to another riveting episode of Science of Abundance Daily Alchemy. Sean Clayton again. And this episode, we're still digging into the hermetic laws. We're on law number four now. And the first three laws I'm gonna review those really quickly are what I call the ethereal plane, or the laws that are really about the isness of life. And that isness, there really is no this or that. It just is. It's. Everything is energy. All thoughts do become things. One way or the other. They're gonna rip into life in a way that you sometimes expect them, or at least expect them or agree to them or not agree to them. And everything has a correspondence to it. Everything's interconnected. This is where that, like psychic ability comes from, when you can start to recognize patterns and frequencies and the interconnection of all things. And this is why we talk about past lives. And all the really interesting is ness that takes place in the code and the pattern that makes up human beings or anything in life universally aligned. So with that said, we're moving into the what I call the physical four laws, or the laws of the physical plane. And those laws, there are four of them. One is Law of Rhythm, the Law of Polarity, the Law of Gender, and the Law of Karma. And there are two of those laws that I consider are the doorway to our isness. They're the doorway to the first three laws. If we don't recognize these two laws, we end up getting very trapped in not being able to even work in the first Three laws. If you can work in those first three laws, your life becomes really magical. Even if you just understand the correspondence of things like, oh, it's all interconnected. I understand that this interrelationship between life, you start to respect not only that that's outside of you, but that that is supposedly underneath you or above you or whatever it might be differently. Religion has done a good job of working people into that lane. But then individuals get caught in this whole thing of separation, which then brings them right back out of it. And if you understand that thoughts become things like Wayne Dyer did a really good job of this. Whatever you think then comes to life. If you think it than it is. And when we get into the pattern of really having pure thoughts and not perfect thoughts and not thoughts that aren't, your thoughts can be crazy sometimes. And that's okay. You can feel your thoughts. But when purity of thought comes around is when we actually feel our thoughts. So when we master one of those, we're crushing life. And when we can actually go through the process of understanding that everything is a vibration and has a ripple effect to it. And the faster we speed it up, the more permanent it becomes. The slower we speed it down, the more permeable it becomes. And when we understand that love is the fastest frequency and fear is the slowest frequency, then our thing is to speed up our frequency so that we can create permeability in our life. And Napoleon Hill calls it this hypnotic rhythm that people get into. So if we master any of those three laws, we're great. If we master all three of those top laws, we're crushing life. But the thing that keeps us out of those laws is these first two laws. I'm going to talk about one quickly. And this is the law of rhythm. The law of rhythm states that as the pendulum swings to the right, the pendulum will swing to the left. As you have an upswing, you'll have a downswing. Everything is essentially going to balance itself back out. So you have a good day, a bad day will come. You have a really awakened moment. You'll have a moment that brings you down. I'll use an example. I do this brain training, and in my brain training, the minute I think I have it, it goes away. So it's like you do this thing where you try to get the light to show up, and you get this light to show up as your getting your mind to work. And it's really more of like a surrender versus a working. And as this little light and this ball gets bigger, you're like, you get super excited about it. The minute you get excited about it, it goes back away. And you kind of have this really interesting balancing act of the way that you have to do it. And it reminds me of the law of rhythm at a very micro scale. Now you take a bigger scale, you can do it through generations. Like, you'll have one generation of a family that's growing, crushing it, another generation that comes back the other way. You have one generation, you know, be like, everything skips a generation. They talk about you'll have like your son is all over the place and the dad was doing great and then his kid will do different, right? Because there's an aspect of things that kind of like hop over one to the other. That law of rhythm also happens in daily cycles. It happens in moon cycles. Women go through their periods. You can kind of see how those cycles work. They have an upswing, downswing that takes place in all of it. The tide does it, it's. It's everywhere in life if you really, really pay attention to it. And you'll notice that when you start to track these patterns in this rhythm, you can almost see it from a mile away when the downswing starts to come back. Now, the most interesting thing about it is, is that this downswing, when it comes back, it only happens for a moment. Like the worst of it happens for a moment. And you can start feeling the momentum swing another way. Like in business, you'll have like these really great days, and then all of a sudden it's like, well, wait a minute, we're having all my momentum. And it flows back the other way. You'll see it in basketball, or you'll see it in games that you watch on television. Somebody will be on a streak and then all of a sudden the streak will go away. You could take like the Patriots, for instance, you know, you have the Tom Brady. Or you can blame it on the person. That might be like the catalyst of that happening. But then they crush it for, let's say, five or six years or 10 years. And then they have 10 years of the opposite way going the other way. You have these conjugate of cycles that happen in life. The stock market, you name it, it comes and goes. So when we can start to understand those rhythms, and we can start to play in those rhythms and start to predict where they come from, and then we can also start to understand how to raise our vibration within those rhythms. So I used to say that it was almost like jumping rope. They would come your way and then you would jump over them. I had this revelation, oddly, today, not even preparing for this, but as I was talking to a friend of mine where we were discussing kind of like surfing. People get on the wave and there's the rhythm of the wave, and you do your thing, then you fall off of it. And the biggest issue with that is that at some point that wave is going to come to an end, it's going to crash, and you're going to fall off. And the goal is to get back up on top of it. So people use that serving analogy to get back in flow. And that rhythm of flow will continue to happen. My notion is that there's another way to tackle this. And in this law of rhythm, if we do understand that as the pendulum swings to the left, it swings to the right, how do we get into a state to where we no longer choose to feel that rhythm? But we can watch it happen around us? And if we watch it happen around us, then we can get into these other laws that help us understand these are the next three laws that we go into that talk about how to be the cause creator of what's taking place outside of you, how to observe it from an aspect of unification and how to participate in it. When it comes down to generation of the law of gender. But in the use case of this one, this is simply about getting yourself out of the way and making sure that when that pendulum comes back around, you don't have to get your ass kicked by it. So if we think about it in that regard, as the pendulum swings to the left and we're going to call the left, let's say the upswing goes. Imagine like when you're a kid and you're swinging. It was like one of the favorite things I used to do as a child. When that thing would go up, I'm like super excited. I was also excited when it would come back the other way. Now, the biggest issue is, is that if I didn't have a good kick in me or I didn't have somebody pushing me, eventually it would slow back down. And I got more exhilaration on the way up than I did on the way down. But then when I kept that back swing on the way up, I got super excited again. Right. Sometimes you would almost get excited going all the way to the back as all the way up to the front front. When you recognize as a child that the exhilaration can happen on both sides of the pendulum and there is no right or wrong on either perspective of it, you're going to Enjoy both sides of the swing. The only time it's not fun is when you stop. So if we can enjoy both sides of the swing and we can learn how to no longer participate in what we in our minds, contextualize as the downswing of the rhythm, then what happens is that no matter where that pendulum is swinging, you're having a fucking great time on it, right? So if you're having a great time as this pendulum swinging up and down and up and down, and it's going, and you're watching the world flow, you just have to understand how to change your vibration in the lens of that flow so that you don't have to choose to fall off the surfboard. You. You don't have to wait on the wave to crash. You don't have to jump over something so that you're like, oh, I gotta wait a minute, because the world is coming at me. When the world is coming at you, you have to freeze and stop, and you're right back into your sympathetic nervous system. The way that I go about doing this, and it. I've been doing it, but I haven't been doing it with this kind of verbalization around it the way that I used to do it. As I would pretend like I was jumping rope, I would jump over it. And then what I would do is I would basically get as close to source as I could in the windows when the downswing would come back and not participate in my days. But what that did is it petrified my ability to participate in life. And not everybody in life is on the same rhythm. So if somebody else is having a great day and then you freeze yourself up, what happens is now all of a sudden, you're not in concert or able to actually vibrate with them. And even though you might be in two top the two opposite ends of the bowl, it's almost like two trapeze artists, like, you guys are extending out. You're, like, anticipating coming right back together. When you come back together, you can do really amazing tricks, but it doesn't mean that you're not waiting on the ride to come back. So you can absolutely be in the circus of life together at two totally opposite ends of the trapeze, waiting on, anticipating being able to come back together. Having a ball going way back, right. Right back up to the top. So if we're having a ball going, extending out, and we're waiting on that rhythm to come back in, what is the cause of that happening? What is creating that momentum? What's creating that momentum is this One single source that's sitting up that is holding this pendulum of life captive. Right? And we can call that energy. We can also call it correspondence. We can call it vibration, we can call it thoughts. And we start to pay attention and we start to feel the thoughts that we have. Now, feelings. If you think about, like, elemental shapes and elements, feelings are. The element of feeling is water. So if we start to think about water and the tide of life that's taking place within it, what would make more sense if I was looking to get from one point to another when there is a hurricane that's happening in my life. Over the top. Hurricanes aren't a bad thing. They're actually very cleansing opportunities. They're bad for something that's stagnant, that's not in flow with it. Right. If you are a cloud, it's really not a bad thing. You're a cloud having a great time in the hurricane. If you're water, you're having a great time. Water's not hurting in a hurricane. Right. You know, fish know what to do if a hurricane comes. Fish are like this. I'm gonna go as deep as I possibly can into this water. But if you're a house sitting on the beach, that's saying, I am unmoved and you can't flow with that hurricane, or you're not built to actually move with it, what's going to happen? It's going to be a pretty rough ride for you. So when the hurricanes come in our lives in this window of rhythm, what do we need to do? There's a couple of things. One, we can move with it over the top. We can get as high up as we can, and we can feel the winds. We can become the clouds, and we can get up there so that we can swirl in a different kind of space. We can ride on top of the waves, which is going to be a little bit choppy. You're not going to have as much fun doing that. Right. But you're going to be there. You'll be moving around in some regard because you are a static object that needs to move into a space that can. It can flow into. There's a lot of flowing spaces inside of this hurricane structure that we can use as an aspect of correspondence which we talked about before, as a reflection of this law of rhythm. The other thing that you can do is you can go super deep. And going super deep means you're going to go within. You're going to go deep underneath the current. You're going to get underneath the wave and you're going to become part of that ocean. Now you have to say, well, as an aspect of correspondence, Sean, I'm not going to be able to breathe if that happens. But the reality of it is there is oxygen in the water. Fish are able to do their things, dolphins are able to do their thing, whales are able to do their things. But if you get underneath it and you learn how to breathe, when you don't have to breathe in an emergency under the water that you have never been able to breathe in, which is the opportunity to go within, then what will happen is that when that hurricane does come and that storm does come, you'll be able to go as deep as you want to for as long as you need to. And that is the process of going within. Meditation is a great exercise to learn how to balance in the law of rhythm. And I'll say it right now, I don't meditate every day. I have kind of different ways of meditating, but I went through really structured exercises to learn how to feel what meditation feels like so that I can get into a space to go within when these things start to happen and not be impacted. And sometimes when I get a little bit off course, yeah, I might have to go sit with myself for a minute. But for the most part, most days I can go within. I can feel the feelings I need to feel and then I know exactly where to get into that current to start to work with the actual storms that are happening in my life or the sunshines that are happening in my life. And the most beautiful thing about it is, is when you can go within. And I this is why I love the Vipassana retreats, because you can get into a space of solitude or these other retreats that we can go to. You get into a space of solitude and you can go within, into a really peaceful place and learn what that feeling feels like. The key of it is, is to not escape every time that the rhythm is off. The key is to be able to embrace the environment around you so you can feel what's happening and then at which point you can go through the process of going deep within yourself and remembering what that feeling is. So with that said, meditation is a good exercise. Going within is a good exercise. It's an exercise to figure out what the rhythm and the pattern is happening in your life. It's an exercise to understand the energy around you. It's an understand a way to influence your thoughts. And it's an exercise to understand the correspondence that's taking place when we don't understand how to get out of the cyclical patterns of the negative self love that takes place in our lives. Then what happens is we never evolve. We stay within that same cycle of rhythm that's taken place for centuries. I mean, this has been going on for a very long time. We keep losing ourselves into it. And we wonder, why in the hell am I suffering? Why is life so bad? And it's really not. We're just not taking joy in all the swings that are taking place. We're not reminding ourselves that just like when we were a child, which is why all this child work is so important. And no matter where you are on that swing, until the swing stops, until you become immovable on that swing, you're having a blast. That's the law of rhythm. It's being able to say, you know what? I don't have to be so immovable in my life. And immovable meaning stubborn. Immovable meaning I have given up. Immovable, meaning that I am not able to understand all of the illusion that's moving around me. That's the whole aspect of co creation. Being still and moving is one thing because you know who you are. Being immovable and stubborn is another thing because you don't know who you are and you're waiting on somebody to tell you who you are. And in that process, you're not able to actually look within yourself, love yourself, and then go either high or low within the storm that you're in. To be able to get into the most flow space that your vibration is able to command, is able to influence, is able to receive. So these are the exercises that we go through in order to master the law of rhythm. You gotta pay attention to it. Things that I do is I literally write down when patterns are off in my life, I'm able to see, okay? It used to be at 10:30 every night something would shift. I would know day over day what it looked like. And it would happen in the reflection of the relationship in my life. Now that the relationship has gotten to a space to where we are now in sync and our rhythms are together, we can actually see it coming. And we don't choose to go down that path anymore. Now I've noticed it in external aspects of things. I can see it in work, so I see it show up in the people outside of me. So that correspondence that was really close to me is now showing up further away. And it's not as personal, right? Or feeling as personal, but sometimes you feel that little pull. And so when you see Those coming, you can adjust those then they're worldly circumstances. Right now we've got this war going on, We've got stock market's doing their things. You can start to see the rhythm outside of there now. You can get a little bit lost in this, where you pay attention to way too much rhythm. And I guess there's never is too much, but you could pay attention to all the rhythm. But if you get a couple of those and you can see the correspondence of it, and you can see how those things flow into your life. Things that I pay attention to, I pay attention to moon cycles because they do make changes. I pay attention to, we call these big energetic portals, like the solar eclipse that just happened. I'll pay attention to aspects of numerology, of seeing it show up in my life. And then I'll tie that back to time and then I'll remember the feelings that I have in that window so that when I have those feelings again, I know where that rhythmic pattern is. And then I can start making adjustments to go either super deep or super high and figure out how to balance it. And then also start to make agreements and communicate with individuals in my life around really what's happening. These are a couple of those exercises. In future podcasts, I will start communicating little tips and tricks that we can go through and life hacks in order to balance out the way that that rhythm works. Because it's actually one of the easiest things to pay attention to. It's one of the easiest things to overcome. And once we overcome it, we start to evolve because we're not staying in this hypnotic rhythm or this cycle that's keeping us in the past. And we're able to start a process of ascending so that we can. Sometimes you'll go like 10 steps forward, two steps back, but you're not going to go 10 steps forward, 10 steps back. And that's where we start to really make strides and change as humanity. I really appreciate you guys for tuning in on this one. Thank you so much and I love you.
