Everybody talks about quality versus quantity, but at the end of the day, what I see the most, most often as a consultant, as a leader, is people just send quantity. I see recruiters sending more resumes. Why? Because the hiring manager asks for it. The hiring manager says, I want more. So the recruiter sends 3 highly qualified people and the hiring manager says, I wanna see more. So we talk about quality over quantity, but then we just succumb to quantity. What gives? What's going on there?
You can't do that. I mean, first of all, it happens. It does happen. Here's the deal. If hiring managers are asking for more, it means that they don't trust you. You got to develop a business partnership with the stakeholders. You got to tell them, look, for every person that I'm sending you, I'm prequalifying 3 to 5 people and I'm sending you the very best.
