In this excerpt from the live YouTube episode "Shally’s Alley Live with Jeremiah Bonewitz," host Shally Steckerl attempts to bring guest Jeremiah Bonewitz onto the stream. The segment is dominated by technical difficulties: video appears but audio is missing, the guest struggles to connect via his phone and different browsers, and both parties troubleshoot mute/unmute buttons and microphone permissions. While waiting, Shally explains why she is broadcasting from a car, recounts a recent meeting with an old friend whose company requires PR sign‑off to appear on the show, and introduces Jeremiah, noting his 13+ years of experience in a sector not traditionally associated with sourcing. The tone remains conversational and informal, with moments of mild frustration over the connectivity issues.

Hello everybody, happy Friday. I'm coming at you from a private undisclosed location today. Um, we have a special guest, Jeremy Bonowitz. Trying to get him to come in, but I haven't been able to successfully turn on his video, so bear with me just a second as I invite him. Okay, let's see if that worked. Hopefully it did. Nice. Okay, he's back in. Let's see, I'm not sure that I'm able to Add his video. Let me, let me reconnect.
All right, can you see me now? Can you hear me?
Ah, not really.
Uh, let me try. Uh, can you hear me now? Can you hear me?
Still nothing.
Trying to join from my phone.
You're trying to call in from your phone? I think I read your lips.
Yep.
By the way, how do you like this feature? What's it saying? I can't read, that's pretty small. Hold on. Yeah, I can't read that. Too small. There should be a mute button, um, on there. Yep, I just muted, unmuted myself.
No, I just— I just unmuted. You can see— can you see me?
Which browser? Yeah, I can see you. It says your browser doesn't support—
on my phone.
Can you switch to another browser? Safari?
On my phone.
Yeah, try Safari. That should work. Let me go back to the regular view so we're not just staring at you. Okay. Well, while Jeremy tries to load up his other browser, let me explain why I'm sitting in a car. So I just had a meeting with an old friend that I haven't seen in like 3 years. And I wanted to invite him to the show, but unfortunately he can't make it on the show because his company requires that he gets a sign-off from PR and all that. I didn't realize I was famous enough to have to have somebody sign off on it, but anyway, that's, uh, where we ended up here. So we're waiting for, for Jeremy to unmute or to join from another browser. Hopefully he can unmute himself there. I don't know if there's a phone— there's no really no phone number to call. Did you, did you try Safari yet? One minute. Okay, well, let me tell you a little bit about Jeremy and why I invited him on the show today. Jeremy has been in the industry for, I think, more than 13 years, more than 13 years, at least 13 years, and he is in a sector that is not traditionally one that you think of when you think about sourcing. Oh, there we go.
Can you hear me and see me?
I see something else now.
Let me leave this one.
There's two of us. I think he is switching to another browser.
Are you back?
Not yet. How about now?
How about now?
Still?
How about now? Can you hear me, Shelly?
That is strange.
Now I'm on my phone.
I can't hear you at all.
How about now? No.
Can you hear me?
Oh yeah.
Wow. So for some reason, uh, we got video but no audio on your end there. There should be— next to the video camera, there should be a little button for mute and unmute.
Yep, it's off.
It's off. It's off. Oh. Nope.
Testing, testing.
Well, that's interesting. It just asked me if I want to access the microphone and I said yes. Did it do that?
How about now?
No, on my end. Can you hear me? All right, folks, sit tight. I'm gonna call him and be right back.
