Emotional Or Logical Buyer?

In this short talk, the speaker challenges the common marketing shorthand of "logical" versus "emotional" buyers, arguing that the dichotomy is vague and unhelpful. Instead, they propose viewing customers along an information spectrum: high‑information buyers who have been educated about a product and can decide quickly, and low‑information buyers who need more education and take longer to purchase. The speaker notes that personal history—such as past experiences of being burned by fast decisions—shapes where a buyer falls on this spectrum. Finally, they assert that the small minority of already‑educated buyers can be reached directly, while the majority require brand building and effective advertising to raise their information level and move them toward purchase.
