In this video, Shanli Liu, CPA, CTP explains a simple yet powerful pricing research technique developed by two researchers. The method consists of asking four willingness‑to‑pay questions: (1) the price so low it seems unbelievable, (2) the price so high you would never buy, (3) the price that would feel like a great deal, and (4) the price that is just barely affordable but you would still purchase. By collecting responses and plotting them on a graph, you can locate the price point that balances the highest unit sales with the highest profit margin—typically the fourth question’s price. This approach replaces guesswork with data‑driven pricing decisions, enabling businesses to set the most profitable price for any product.
