Shanli Liu, a CPA, explains when to open a second location: first, your original location must run without you daily. Second, it needs six consecutive months of autonomous growth. Until then, scaling will fail.
Nail it before you scale it. Number 1, you shouldn't care about your second location before the first one can run without you. Period. Number 2, don't go to a new one until the old one is growing without you for 6 months straight. That's my rule of thumb. Now, to be clear, a lot of business owners or small business owners for local business especially are like, oh no, this thing runs without me. No, no, no, no, no. I'm not saying like you don't show up to the gym, therefore it runs without you. No, we need somebody else who completely encapsulates that business. Then I can maybe start the next one.
