Shanli Liu argues humanoid robots will be the next big consumer market. Americans spend roughly 100 hours monthly on cooking, cleaning, and laundry, worth about $1,500. Liu thinks people will finance $20,000–$30,000 robots through monthly payments, like car loans, to get that time back.

The biggest business that doesn't exist yet but is coming is not AI, but in my belief, it's robots, humanoid robots. And this is me calling it. And let me break down the math. Right now, the average American spends 100 hours per month cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, putting away groceries. There's cleaning the house and then also cleaning up after yourself for cooking, cleaning, and eating. And so all of those things together is about 100 hours a month. And so if you make $15 an hour or you value your time at $15 an hour, then that's $1,500 per month that you'd have to pay in order to replace that cost, which many people are willing to get 100 hours back. Right. But what would be even better is to have a robot who can do it for you. And so what people are going to have is robot payments because the average robot is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of, you know, $20,000, $30,000. You'll finance it instead of a car payment or in addition to a car payment. You'll have a robot payment, and that's what you'll pay in order to have somebody full-time around the house who's cooking and cleaning and fixing all your stuff. And that's going to happen soon.
