When you outgrow your current circle but haven't found your next one, expect loneliness. The speaker calls this the inevitable middle phase of any transition. Hold tight to the few friends who genuinely support your growth.
If you have friends that genuinely support you on this path and do everything they can to increase the likelihood that you're successful, that's amazing, and you should hold on to them because they're valuable people. But I would prepare for the majority of the time, which is that there is a period of time where you, you're not going to be successful enough for the next tier of friends, but you're too different from the friends that you used to have. And so that middle path is very lonely.
