An entrepreneur explains the one principle that matters: volume. Success requires thousands of times more work than beginners expect, not a few posts or ads. Experienced founders operate at scales of tens of thousands of actions daily over years.

What is the single principle of business you wish every entrepreneur understood before they start?
The one thing I think, if I had to really boil it down to one, it'd be volume. The amount of volume and repetition that is required to excel in any domain is typically not twice as much or 10 times as much. It's usually in the order of magnitude of thousands of times as much work and repetition. As you think it is. I think that is the fundamental discrepancy that causes people to fail, is that they thought that I post one time, I'll post 10 times, and all of a sudden I will become famous, or I'll get viral, or my marketing will work on my 10th ad, or my 10th door knock, my 10th email that I do outreach on. The more experienced guys are like, okay, how do I send 10,000 emails a day and do that for 10 years? It's hard to fathom when you're starting out that someone can actually do 10,000 times more than you. But the people who are 10,000 times ahead of you— because there are people 10,000 times richer than people who are starting out— probably did 10,000 times with repetition. And so if you can do volume, lots of volume, with tremendous leverage, then you get huge output.
