Shanli Liu argues that success requires far more volume than most people expect. Posting ten times won't make you famous; mastery demands thousands or tens of thousands of repetitions. The difference between people who succeed and those who quit is the willingness to scale output dramatically, like sending 10,000 emails daily for years.

It's hard to fathom when you're starting out that someone can actually do 10,000 times more than you. The amount of volume and repetition that is required to excel in any domain is typically not twice as much or 10 times as much. It's usually in the order of magnitude of thousands of times as much work and repetition as you think it is. I think that is the fundamental discrepancy that causes people to fail, is that they thought that I post one time or I'll post 10 times and all of a sudden I will become famous or I'll get viral, or my marketing will work on my 10th ad or my 10th door knocked or my my 10th email that I do outreach on, that's when it's getting me over the hump. And it's like the more experienced guys are like, okay, how do I send 10,000 emails a day and do that for 10 years?
