Create Your Own "Faith File" to Navigate Seasons of Challenge and Change - with Shawn Ellis

Shawn Ellis suggests creating a "faith file" of past challenges you've overcome and how you grew from them. When you face new difficulties, reviewing these stories reminds you that you've navigated hardship before and can do it again.

So if you look back at your story, I know you have those same places where you came to a place and you thought, this looks like a mess. I don't see how we're going to get through this. And now you're on the other side of it and you can look back and see, ah, yes, that challenge, that obstacle that I thought there's no way I'm going to get through that. It was actually a stepping stone that if I hadn't faced that challenge, there's no way I would get to where I am now. So when you find those experiences in your story, my invitation, my encouragement is to create what I call a faith file. You see, we can all find faith in other stories. You can read them in a book, you can hear somebody stand on stage and speak them, but the best stories are your own. Find the faith in your own story. So every time, look back on your experience and you find those stories, those places that you've overcome, and add that to your faith file. Find those places where not only did you face a challenge and you thought, there's no way I'm gonna get through this, but now you're on the other side and it's, it's even better than you had imagined. What do you have in your life now that, that was once just a dream? What do you have in your life now that's beyond anything you could ever imagine? Put that in your faith file. And then when you come to those endings, when you find those places, And you don't know how we're gonna get to the new beginning. You say, I don't know, but I can look back and see some way, somehow I made it through that. So then I know that I'm gonna make it through this. And you keep going.
