Peri/menopause Fat Loss Training

Estrogen decline during perimenopause and menopause makes standard weight-loss advice fail by damaging muscle retention and metabolic flexibility. Three mistakes sabotage results: undereating, replacing strength training with cardio, and using generic workout plans. The fix is progressive strength training, eating enough to support your nervous system, and a personalized approach to your stage of life.

If you clicked this video, chances are you're in perimenopause, menopause, or beyond and doing everything you've been told to lose weight. And it's either not working or it's getting harder every year. I want you to know something before we go any further. Nothing is wrong with you. Your body isn't broken and fat loss is not off the table. This short training is going to explain why the strategies that used to work stopped working, and what actually needs to change during this stage of life. Not motivation. Not willpower. Physiology. Let's start with the biggest mistake I see: eating less and less to force the scale down. During perimenopause and menopause, estrogen fluctuates and declines. That affects: muscle retention, blood sugar regulation, stress tolerance, and metabolic flexibility. When you chronically undereat during this phase, your body doesn't say, "Great, let's burn fat!" It says, "We're under threat! Let's slow everything down and conserve energy!" This is why so many women tell me, "I'm eating less than ever. I skip meals. I'm barely hungry. And the scale still doesn't move." still won't move. Restriction backfires harder during menopause. The second mistake is trying to burn it off with more cardio. Cardio has benefits, but when it replaces strength training, especially in menopause, here's what happens: you lose muscle, your resting metabolism drops, and your body becomes less efficient with calories and requires fewer calories to function. Muscle is the very thing that keeps metabolism responsive helps you burn calories at rest, and protects your bones and joints. So when women tell me, "I'm walking more than ever but I'm still gaining weight," this is usually why. The third mistake is relying on random workouts and cookie-cutter plans. Menopause reduces your margin for error. What you do, how hard you push, how much you recover, how much you eat, and how you progress— all of it matters more now. Guessing leads to overtraining, underfueling, inconsistent results, and frustration that feels personal. So if those are the mistakes, what does work? Fat loss during menopause improves when you protect and build muscle, eat enough to calm your nervous system, train with intention, not punishment, and follow a clear progression designed for your body. When those things are supported, your body stops clinging to the weight. Not because you forced it, but because it finally feels safe enough to let it go. This is the system I use with women in perimenopause, menopause, and beyond who want fat loss that doesn't require burning yourself out, strength, confidence, and energy back, a body that feels supported, not punished. And the key phrase with these is when applied correctly. Because knowing this is one thing, applying it to your body, schedule, and recovery is another. So here's the question: do you want to keep trying to piece this together on your own, or would you like help applying this safely, strategically, and sustainably? If this is starting to click and you're wondering how this would actually look for your body, your schedule, and your stage of life, click the button below that says Learn what my body needs now.
