Why menopause is AWESOME. #menopausecoach #menopauserelief

Lindsay Zahner argues menopause is a natural evolutionary stage that lets women contribute experience and leadership to their families. Unlike most mammals, humans and certain whale species live long after reproduction ends. The shift requires strength training, protein, fiber, and patience, not punishment.

Your changing body is not betraying you. It's joining one of the rarest clubs in the animal kingdom. Stay with me because this is fascinating and empowering. Most female mammals can reproduce almost until the end of their lives, but humans are different. So are a few whale species like orcas, belugas, narwhals, and pilot whales. That's pretty incredible. Menopause is not just your body quitting. It's one of the few examples in nature where females live long, meaningful lives after reproduction ends. So why does this matter? Because older females carried something wildly valuable: experience, memory, strategy, leadership, protection, wisdom. In orca pods, older females help guide and educate their family. In humans, grandmothers and older women have helped families and communities survive for generations. This stage is not useless. It is powerful. So no, your body isn't broken because it needs different care now. It's just changing roles. And that means your approach has to change too. You may need more strength training, protein, recovery, fiber, patience, compassion— not more punishment. Menopause is not the beginning of becoming less. It can be the beginning of becoming something deeply rooted, strong, wise, and harder to knock over. Your body is not failing. It's just asking you to lead it differently. Save this for the days you feel frustrated with your body and send it to a woman who needs to remember that she's not falling apart. She is entering a powerful new role. And follow for all things exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress for women over 40.
