Hey, this is TJ with Solutions by tj and I'm back at it with a Words that you need to know as a notary. Words and tools of the trade. As I said, let this play on autoplay while you're doing while you're driving or doing whatever you need to do around the house, washing clothes, whatever you're doing. Let this play so you can get these words into your spirit and know them by heart. As soon as somebody says it, you know what's going on. That's important. Okay, let us get started.
Certified Copy A certified copy is a document certified by an official, such as a notary, to be an accurate reproduction of an original. Chain Certification Chain certification is a traditional authentication procedure that requires sequential attachment of certificates of authority, each validating the genuineness of of the preceding document. Chain of Personal Knowledge Knowledge of Identity Linking the notary with the signer through a credible identifying witness to establish the signer's identity. So the notary personally knows and can identify the credible witness and the credible witness personally knows and can identify the document signer. So think of this as your niece needs documents notarized and you bring her to me. But I don't know your niece. I know you. So you act as the credible identifying witness and you can identify your niece and I can identify you. Civil Penalty A civil penalty is a non criminal remedy for a notary's violations of laws or regulations. Civil penalties usually include civil fines or other financial payments to recover financial losses that were claimed to have been caused by the notary's misconduct.
