Hey, this is TJ with Solutions by tj. And I'm back at it with a word that you need to know as a notary. Words and tools of the trade. As I said, let this play on autoplay while you're doing While you're driving or doing whatever you need to do around the house, washing clothes, whatever you're doing. Let this play so you can get these words into your spirit and know them by heart. As soon as somebody says it, you know what's going on. That's important. Okay, let us get started.
A Commission A commission is written authorization to perform notary acts that is issued by a state's governor, Secretary of State, or other empowering official. It's also called an appointment in some states and jurisdictions. Copy Certification A copy certification is an act in which a notary certifies that a copy of a document is a true and accurate reproduction of the original county Clerk. A county Clerk is an official whose duties may include keeping a file of the bonds and signed oaths of office of notaries, issuing certificates of authority for those notaries, and accepting custody of journals surrendered by those notaries upon retirement. In some states they are called a prothonotary. County Recorder is an official who registers deeds and certain other documents in the public record. In some states called a county auditor. Credible Identifying Witness A credible identifying witness is an individual who knows and can verify the identity of a signer. The witness appears at the time of the notarization and takes an oath or affirmation before the notary that the signer is who they claim to be but lacks other forms of identification.
