Hey, honey bunny. This is TJ with Solutions by tj. And today we're going to talk about a notary public loan signing agent's perspective on the ups and downs of a lending career. You know, you got to kind of be under a rock to not know that the interest rates have risen. A mortgage that used to be $1600 is now $2300. Imagine that. That's a big jump, right? So the big question is how does this affect real estate, real estate in general, and how particularly does it fit it affect notary public loan signing agents, otherwise known as loan signing agents? All right, so let's get into it. Before we do, please, like this video, if you get any value from it, like this video, understand that some perspectives are not discussed in this community. Because you know what I'm saying, I'm gonna go deeper than everybody else. So do me a favor, subscribe to this channel so you can help put it on the mount. Alright, so number one, I'm talking about how it affects homebuyers because if people are not buying homes, then that affects us, right? So of course, when the interest rates go up, fewer people start buying houses. There's data that shows on Redfin that there has been an a decrease in the amount of houses listed on the market just recently.
There are several predictions all over the United States regarding a housing crisis or housing bubble. And how does that affect us? You know what, to be honest with you, when things get bad, things get kind of good for us. To be honest, if you are making the right connections, your money should never go down, honey. It should always increase. Let me tell you how. All right, so if you've seen a decrease in your business because more people are not closing houses. You see, in our business, we operate in the good and the bad. So when people are buying and selling houses, we, we're good. When people are foreclosing on houses, we're good. When people are doing loan modifications, we're good. If you are not doing good, that means that somewhere in your business you have not built up that portion so that you can ride the waves of this business. All right, tj, what the heck you mean ride waves? Okay, you want to know? All right, let me tell you how to ride this wave. Okay, so there are investor groups on Facebook. There are investor meetup groups all over the United States. Get to know these investors who are not just trying to learn, but who are actually in the business of buying and fixing up houses. These flippers, wholesalers. You have to know these people. Because when the market is bad. It gets even better for them, right? Get to know and network. This is not a business, honey, where you can sit back and just expect for everything to go well for you, for somebody to put food in your lap. This is not corporate America. You gotta go get it. Okay? Are you prepared to go get it? You gotta go get it. All right? So in order to go get it, you have to get out of your box. You have to network. Real estate agents, investors, they have all go to eventbrite in your city. They have all kinds of meetups and stuff, all kinds of networking events. Get to know them, let them get to know you. Have your cards ready. This is a business where you can make money year round. That's. I mean 2013 baby, at that's when I started. You can do this. Well, actually I got certified in 2016 but my cousins were certified in 2013 and I've watched them. So I feel like I've been in it that long because I've watched them and the money just does not have to go down. Long story short, don't let nobody tell you different. The housing market is going to go through the fluctuations that the housing market goes through. And that's not a problem for us. Okay? All right. You go out there and get your money. Now another thing that you can do in order to stay that is always have another.
Way to make income with your notary commission. Apostilles. Look here baby boo. Last week I closed a thousand dollars in Apostilles. Over the weekend I got another call. One deal. $500. What you doing? That's the type of money I like.
Figure out what your niche is, who your. And let me tell you, okay, so a niche is you have home buyers, then you have new home buyers, you have luxury home buyers, you have international home buyers, you have Hispanic home buyers, you have. You see what I'm going. Those are niches in the home buying genre. In the home buying sector. Figure out what your niche is. If you speak Spanish.
Or any other language really you have a niche, go to your chamber of commerce, go to the embassies, go to various community centers and pass out your card and get to know these people. They are looking for you. I know I'm in Houston IT list and I found out something interesting. If you are in Houston, the Spanish speaking community is in desperate need of notaries. So you need to advertise on Google to let them know that you are there. And advertise and you will make your money back. And it don't Even cost a lot of money, honey, it don't have to break the bank. You gonna make that back plus some and your community.
And I just found out that from the National Notary association that you cannot use Google translator. You cannot use in a lot of states a translator in order to translate the documents and you just notarize those documents. You have to be able to communicate one on one because they're saying that the translation could be skewed by the other person depending on who it is. So you have to be able to speak in the language that your client speaks in in order to notarize those documents to verify that. Look in your city or state. Get your hustle on is the whole point of this business. You can make money year round. Tj, can you say it one more time? You can make money, baby, year round. I told you two ways. Number one is networking. Who do I network with? Real estate agents, investors.
Number one. Look, okay, so that was one B. Number one A is figure out your niche and go after those people. If it is, if it is the Spanish speaking community or a certain language, go after those people because they're looking for you. They just can't find you. If it is new home buyers, go after agents who deal with new home buyers and sell yourself and make videos and send the agent a video and let them know what the advantage is of working with a notary public loan signing agent over not working with the notary public loan signing agent. Let them know that the individual who is buying the house has the. Has the right to tell the title company who they want to use as a notary public loan signing agent. Okay.
And what was the other one that I said? Oh, the side hustle. Yeah, that was. Okay, so I gave you 1A, 1B. Now number two, something else. Apostille.
