How to Get Business Credit

A recorded live YouTube conversation (host TJ with Renee and Leslie Dawson) focused on building business credit for notaries and related training. Speakers recap a recent PPP effort that funded $1.3M across 153 notaries, describe an upcoming business-credit masterclass (do-it-yourself course with optional one-on-one coaching), explain entity/fundability basics (LLC/corporation, congruent contact info, EIN, business bank account), and answer practical questions about vendors, personal guarantees, timing, cost and logistics. The tone mixes practical instruction with casual, humorous livestream banter (including a dog cameo).

Hey, this is TJ with Solutions by tj. And today I am joined by the notary PPP ladies and Blue, the baby dog. Okay, she over here making noise now. She was quiet. Anyway, I have these ladies because they have a program that's coming up that I wanted them to have an opportunity to talk to you about so that you could join if you're available, tell us a little bit about what we can expect, what it's about, when is it, when is it going on, all that good stuff.
Hey guys, welcome back. So I just wanted to give you some updates. So we were able to fund $1.3 million of loan to 153 people notaries particularly and thank you, thank you, thank you so much for TJ solution helping us with that momentum and and able to provide our community with that. So I just want to thank you first for that. So what we have to offer is another funding opportunity for notary particularly. It's called notary business credit. And so what? Notary business credit is a great opportunity for those notary that want to utilize their business setup to fund their business and leverage it from commercial vehicles to getting new tires to getting your expenses, lowering your cash flow amount and leveraging your business. So we brought in the expert, Ms. Leslie Dawson here again to show us so much of what she has to offer. Everything I speak about not only myself but Ms. Dawson has already have done and we are sharing to you on a platform, a streamlines of all the hiccups that we went through and we're going to make sure that you don't go through the same. So I'm going to give it over to my partner, Ms. Leslie Dawson.
Hello guys. Thank you TJ so much for having us on again. I'm excited to be here tonight, definitely. So as Renee mentioned, we are offering our business masterclass for credit in regards to notaries. What we're really hoping to do with this upcoming course. I don't know if that's me or not. What we're really hoping to do with this upcoming course is just be able to educate our community on the ways that you guys can leverage your business credit to launch your notary business or help to scale it and just to help with your cash flow so that you're not having to utilize it all the time for the things that your business automatically needs like paper, printer, all those little things that add up, you should be able to use your credit to get those things. That way you can have time to be able just to pay it off. You can also Use your business credit if you want to start another business. We'll even talk about that in the course. So there's so many different options that you have available to you at your disposal. And our goal is just to keep educating and giving out all the information that we have and that we've been able to utilize to help us grow and scale our business. And we just want to help everybody else do the same. Perfect. Perfect, Perfect.
I'm sorry, y'.
All.
Baby Dog, my daughter is trying to catch Baby Dog, and she's over here clowning. So my. She ran to my daughter and did like a fake shake, and my daughter's knees buckled and she was on the ground. So I'm sorry. That was real funny. Baby Dog got her that time. Five for Baby Dog, zero for Madison. So that is awesome. I love the program that you're talking about. So you hit me with a number, Renee, and I need to know that number one more time. So you said you got how much for who?
Excellent. So $1.3 million in notary PPP loan forgiveness for their notary business. We were able to fund with our team 810 capital. So with that being said, that was 153 notaries. We were able to walk them through the product in a spare time of one month. The program runed out because it just was one month. It was May the fifth through our line. But other PPP program, they were able to go if you were a minority lender. We weren't a minority lender. So when the SBA said that the funds ran out, that was on May 5 when we got notification.
Perfect.
Okay, so that's awesome. So through the PPP program, you were able to help notaries get $1.3 million. And I was one of them. So I do appreciate that. I went through them. It was an extremely easy process. They are super duper easy to work with. There were no charges.
On. On my end, so that was a cool thing. And then, I mean, I got my money like in seven days and I.
I got a. I got a probably.
Decent amount of money. So I'm extremely grateful for that. And you know what?
So forgiveness. So there. They have sent out some notification for the loan forgiveness. Just don't forget to submit your application for that. Okay.
Okay.
I have not. I don't think I've gotten it. I did get a notification from 18 capital with people asking about it or something, and they said they keep me up to date.
Absolutely. That's the email.
Perfect. Okay. So.
So that's a part of so you know, this channel is about whatever I do, I try to help my family do and that's, that's no freaking game to me. I am not the expert at every freaking thing. So I try to bring people on to help in areas that I mean even I am building my business credit. So I'm going to ask you ladies a couple of questions.
Regarding business credit and if it's a dumb question, I'm sorry and just, you know what I'm saying, just ask me. Tommy Watkins said that he saw Yalls sponsored ads. So that is awesome. Your ads are getting out.
We have about. I don't know how many people on now, but tell me a little bit about.
Why.
Just give me a little bit about. So do you need an LLC in order to start building business credit? Number one?
Yes, I'm going to say number one, you do. Is it possible to do it if you're a sole proprietor? Yes. Some vendors will go ahead and approve you for like their basic net 30 starter accounts. However, mostly those are what I consider tier one vendors. Some of them will. But what you will start running into as you try to continue building your business credit and go to what we call level two and three, you will have creditors who will deny you and it's strictly because you have not properly structured your business in a way where it's actually a business. So one key important piece of that is setting up an LLC or a corporation so that you are considered an official business to these companies that you're going to be asking for credit from. And we call that the fundability stage. And we'll be going over that in the course for sure. But like some of the things you're going to need outside of just the llc, that's only one piece of it. Right. You definitely need like your website, professional emails, nothing at Yahoo at Gmail, phone numbers, a professional address. You need all of those things to go with that llc.
Perfect. Another question that I'm going to ask you is regarding the course that you have coming up. Is it a course to teach how to do it myself? Teach me how to do it myself or are you offering a done for you course if I say listen, I'm TJ and I this is. I don't have a solution. Hello, please be my solution.
That's excellent. Excellent, excellent. So this course is recorded so you will have your own login one week after the course has launched to log in to watch the videos whenever you want. Right.
So.
So with that being said, if you need like step by step you have that reporting. But Ms. Dawson, also provide one on one coaching calls just in case you want to offer that service an additional fee for that. So she'll be able to walk you through. Is that correct, Ms. Dawson?
Yes, that's correct. We do offer one on one coaching where if you need hands on walkthrough the process, then we can do that. But the course itself is a do it yourself course.
Perfect. Okay, great, great, great. My other question is. So you mentioned an LLC or a corporation. If I don't want to have to do it again, and I know you guys are not attorneys. This is not legal advice, people.
Consult with your attorney. Rcpa. Just let me put that disclaimer out to do what's best for your business again. I mean, I'll give you all my legal shield contact because that's who I've been using and they have done an amazing job for me so far in setting up my series llc.
And I'm going to get them to set up a corporation next. So would you recommend for people to set up an LLC or a corporation? Because from what I've been told, when you want to get to the highest tier of fundability, you it's best to have a corporation.
Excellent. So with that being said, when we talk corporation, there's only two type of corporation. There's a C corporation and there's an X corporation.
And those are. And those are IRS designations. Right.
So I'm just going to explain everything in regards to it. So I'm going to break everything down from just the low to the high to whatever. Right. That's out there. So just for terminologies, there's two types of corporation. There's a C corporation, there's an S corporation. That's just the word corporation when they use inc. The end of their company name. Now, LLCs, limited liabilities, LPs, things to that nature, that's entities. So those two categories, LLCs and corporations, those are entities. Okay. An entity is not so much of a dba. Right. Doing business as a sole proprietorship. But a sole proprietorship is still a single member LLC that the IRS designate as a single member LLC. So Ms. Dawson is going to explain what exactly you need to scale up where you don't have roadblocks.
Okay. Yeah. So Renee is our accountant.
You have any light on? Because you're in the dark.
But I can turn mine on. Can you see me better now?
Okay, that's better. Why are you sitting?
Where's your drink, miss Leslie? Because.
Okay.
I love it.
You guys know this recorder. Right.
That's okay.
Listen, when you come to my channel, you are amongst people. We don't do the. You know, I understand the whole corporate thing, but I cannot, I can't.
My life. I don't know if y' all listen.
To country music, but it's this song that says it's five o' clock somewhere. Okay.
I know, right.
But.
Let me get back. What's I talking about now? Oh, okay. So in regards to being able to move up, there is not going to be a roadblock. As long as you do have the LLC or the corporation, it's not going to matter which one of those you have. It's only going to be a roadblock if you don't have either of them.
Gotcha. Okay, great, great, great. I understand that.
So clarifying that if I have a dba, and what that means is I go by signing on demand, but everything is in my name because a DBA is registered with the county and is not registered with the state. So when you do a lot of these application for business credit, they're going to look with your secretary of state to make sure you're a legitimate business far as the entity. If you are only a dba, meaning a fictitious name statement that is still considered DBA on the county level, not the state level. Just to clarify that.
So you have to have an LLC or a court, not a dba.
Yes, ma'.
Am. Perfect.
Got it, got it, got it. Tommy Thomasina, Ms. mobile notary. Y' all have any questions?
How much is the course that you have in it? When? When is it? When is the course?
It is tomorrow.
Okay.
5:30 Pacific Standard Time. 8:30 Eastern Standard Time. If you are in Las Vegas, we're having an in person and we'll be having dinner and having a good time at five o' clock Pacific Standard Time.
Perfect. How much is the course?
The course is 97.97, but because you came on here on TJ Solutions platform, you get 5% off.
Okay, perfect, perfect, perfect.
If you use the code TJ SOLUTION1. So she'll put in the chat.
Okay. TJ SOLUTIONS.
That'S the code. Okay, so I'm gonna ask you guys some more questions. So I just started out as a notary. Why do I. Do I, do I need to start building business credit right now?
Hit them with that, Ms. Dawson. Hit them with that.
Yeah. Okay, so that's one of my favorite things is a lot of people will ask, well, when should I start? And what I say is you should start even before you are going to launch your business, it should be one of the first things that you're doing. The reason being if you set up, if you've already started your business and you're just getting started and you've set up an llc, for example, and you've registered, let's just say you registered to your home address. Well, now there's a process that you have to go through in order to undo that. So if you set it up properly before you even start, it's a lot easier for you. So for example, I recommend people have their phone number and their virtual office business address before they even file their LLC paperwork. Because whenever you go to apply for business credit, what they're looking for is congruency and they want everything to match up everywhere. And by that they want it to match up with the IRS when you get your ein, they want it to match up with the Secretary of State on your LLC paperwork and they want it to match up on your business bank account that you will need all your information needs to match in all those places. So if you plan ahead and do this from the beginning, it's going to be easier for you to then if you don't and you have to go back and correct it everywhere. So sometimes that can take a couple of weeks just depending on where you are to get those items updated, which can delay you in the process. So the earlier you start the better. And also it decreases your chance of having denials from when those things aren't matching up.
So let me bring it from a perspective from a notary. Do we have certain startup costs that we need? We need printers, we need paper, we need pens, things like that. We know accounts that will give you net 30 terms and allow you to leverage your business and kind of do it like lailway pay in 30 days.
Right.
So those things, sometimes when you have a rainy day and you're just like, man, that check didn't come through. Those are the things that you need in your back pocket to help assist you as you're running your business. We all know that being an entrepreneur can take work. So because of that, we make sure that.
Understood. One thing that, that you know, was interesting to me as I started building business credit, it's not like personal credit. Well, in a lot of ways it is. And it is because in order to build credit you have to buy stuff. So if you are short with money right now, you still have to set up accounts to get paper accounts to.
You know, get your ink accounts for the things that you need over and over again. And they have vendors who report to the business credit agencies to do that. But you have to set up those type of vendors in order to build your business credit. So it takes money. I mean, tell me if I'm right or wrong. I don't want people to think that, okay, once I get this, I can start. And there's nothing else to buy.
Right.
You still have to use it. You still have to buy various things that you need for your business. Tires, gas, that type of stuff.
Right. And that's a very good point. So when it comes to business, you're already going to want to be in the mindset that whatever you're doing is an investment, because everything takes money to do it. The one benefit I will say about credit, which is why I think it's even more important, is if you are short on cabin, you have this credit to be able to leverage it. Because, for example, with notaries, we get paid usually every 30 days if you're getting paid from the signing companies. So if you order paper now, you might spend $50. Okay, well, in 30 days, you're gonna have that $50 to be able to pay for that where you might. Couldn't afford it, that paper right now. So we.
It's about using it wisely.
Now.
You don't want to go out and purchase things that you know you cannot pay for or you don't have the funds coming in for. I would. If you're short on cash only use it for things that's going to help you grow your business and increase income. That's the goal of credit, is leveraging it to increase income.
And guess what? You don't got to use your personal credit.
Right.
Perfect.
Perfect.
So, yeah, somebody asked me, was that Baby Dog? Yeah. I had to get up because Baby dog, something happened with her ball and she didn't. Damn near ran over my lights. I know I have a. She has a cab, y'.
All.
She just will not allow my daughter to catch her. Put her in the cab.
Yeah.
So they've been fighting for since I told you time when my daughter's knees buckled. Yeah. My daughter left her alone. So, yeah, I'm stuck with the baby. Okay, perfect. Got it, got it, got it. Okay. So another question that I had was.
Regarding.
Okay, so I asked you the question of do you need money? They were talking about, yeah, you can do tires. You don't need personal credit.
But then I've also seen. Okay, oh, this was my question. Will you provide a list of vendors that people can sign up with yes.
We are going to provide. I believe it's about 15 vendors in this course that we're going to give out for you to be able to apply with. And some of them will be given. You'll have the access to apply for all of them. We're either giving you the direct website that you'll need to go to and what they require, or what some of them don't have where you can apply on the website. So we'll be giving you the PDF file of the applications so that you can apply that way as well.
So these companies that you're giving us do not require a personal guarantee.
Right.
Maybe you don't have to use your own social.
Correct. They will not require a personal guarantee. But I will say a lot of times, people don't understand how that works because you'll fill out a business credit application and it will ask for your social and certain applications that ask for your social, you'll want to make sure that it's saying that it is for identity purposes. If it says that it's for identity purposes and clearly states that you're not guaranteeing it, then you go ahead and you move forward with that application. For applications that do not say that it's not a personal guarantee and they're asking for your social, then we have another strategy to tell you how to be able to do that so you'll make sure that you're not personally guaranteeing it. Okay.
And the 15 that you're giving us, they don't ask for a personal guarantee or do some of them ask for it? And there's a specific way that you need to fill out the paperwork in order to meet.
All of them don't require a personal guarantee, but some of them will ask for it if you don't know what you're doing. Yeah.
Gotcha, Gotcha. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Any other questions from the crowd, y'?
All?
We have 17 people on here. Make sure that y' all like this video. I have them on here specifically for y'.
All.
I mean, I believe that this is excellent.
When you become a notary, there is an investment of anywhere from 700 to $1,000.
And in that.
There are times when. Yeah, I mean, as you grow in business, you are gonna want to have established business credit. I have some accounts established, but not nearly enough. So that's why I'm working on mine.
So let us know if y' all have any questions in the background. I think we answered a lot of the stuff. The event is tomorrow. It costs $97 it's 5pm Pacific Time and 8 8pm or 8:38pm it's 5:30.
Pacific Time, 7:30 Central Time and 8:30 Eastern Standard Time.
Gotcha. Okay, okay, let me write that. So the time tomorrow.
Hold on.
Tomorrow.
And at.
5:30 Pacific is PST Pacific.
Yes.
Don't forget us over here on the West Coast.
West coast, that's 5:30, right? Yes, ma'.
Am.
Okay, the event is tomorrow.
The cost.
Is 97, right?
Yes, ma'. Am.
And is there a link?
Yes, ma'.
Am.
What's the link?
I'll send it to you right now, ma'.
Am.
I'm sending it to on here or Instagram.
I can put it on YouTube right now.
I just did it. That's the link.
Okay, perfect. So she added the link, y'.
All.
I don't see it.
Huh?
It's on there.
Okay, tell it to me too.
Real quick.
Or put it in the comments here on Stream Yard.
Excellent.
The private chat. Can you see it?
Yes, ma'. Am.
And I'll add it here. Okay, perfect, perfect.
I love it. Y' all see?
Okay, what did Tommy say? Notaries, you better jump on this. Definitely good information if you do your part as business owners. Ms. Dawn said late to the part. Party centralist Nashville. What's the course? The course is talking about business credit building for notary public loan signing agents.
And it's a $97 course going on tomorrow. And. Yeah, do you have a payment plan? It's another question.
No, we don't.
No payment plan. So upfront you got to pay $97. Now I do want to mention this for you. For those of you who have not purchased the apostille course, I am in the process of launching that as well. There will be a payment plan. They have payment plans on PayPal, by the way, y'.
All.
Y' all can also check out Sezzle S E Z Z L E.
So people can sign up that way. So I just want to make sure that everybody understands and knows about the two things because both of them are going to be magnificent.
Regarding the apostille course, we got some great stuff coming up, man. I mean, it's. It's reloaded. It's the pastel too, with everything that you think you didn't get. We're going over the real documents with you real time and showing you really how to get the money. And not only for, oh.
This two year old over here. And then she didn't left. Don't, don't have no children, y'.
All.
I'm telling you she left with baby dog down here.
But Sean, death row notary, is also going to be telling you his secret sauce to how he makes 2000. You gonna knock them goddamn gun lights out. You about to make me cuss. Go over there.
Go.
Where my shoe go.
Okay, sorry.
But he's going to be telling us how he. How his trick to getting jobs through notarized. Because from what I've learned, it's not as easy as we think it is. People sit and they just never get jobs lives. So anyway, Tommy, quit laughing at me at this dog. Hey, does anybody want a cane Corso. She just made three months, $3,000. You can have a. Come here, Blue. Let me show you these to these people, your new owners. Come here, Blue. Blue. Now she won't come. Come here. Come here. Now she's scared to come since I brought that shoe out. Now she's like, hold on. What?
You ain't tricking her, okay?
She peeping around the corner like use a lot. Come here, Blue. Come here, mama.
Come here.
Let me show. Now she doing me like my daughter. She'll come and you'd run away. Come here, Blue. Come. Gotcha. Damn. I didn't have them anyway. I wish I could show y' all baby dog. Just in case somebody need a baby dog. It was, you know, I'm saying, I like her, I love her, but baby dog is too much.
Okay, so bluish is camera shot. I know. She is a mess. Yeah, she is a mess. Okay, So I think we have all of the questions that we need for.
She's smart. I'm trying to trick her with this toy so she'll come.
God dang it. Hold on, y'.
All.
Come here. Stop it. Come, Blue. Come here, baby. Come on, baby. Don't knock my camera down. Come let me take you to Madison.
You want to play?
If y' all could see this ring around the Rosie that we doing. She is a mess. Okay, Is there a link for the apostille course? Hey, all things native Jean. There will be. I'll have that to you soon. My guys in India are. Are putting that together. If y' all have any questions for any of us, please let us know.
On the credit portion.
On the credit.
Portion of the business or anything else. She sound like a bull going through a dog on.
Yeah, she sound like she wrecking havoc over there.
She is she crazy.
I wish I could catch her.
But I don't have time to play with Blue. Oh, top of you laughing at me. Tell me where are you located so I can Bring baby dog to you, honey. Your daughter said that they wanted a baby dog, and, you know, not a puppy. They want a baby dog.
Because she is more than a. Yeah, Blue is a mess. We have fun on this channel. Part. It's part information, part comedy. So I can't take that. If this was a job for me, I would not be able to do it. Like, it has to be fun. It has to be laid back. And my people have to know that I love them, because I just can't. I'm. I cannot. I'm, like, at a point where I just have to be me. And however foolish this stuff comes out with this comedy show, that's just what it is. You heard me.
Anybody have any questions about their. They are. Their credit business, Their credit thing. Gotcha.
Come here.
Oh.
Stop, stop.
Where you. Where the camera?
Oh, there we go. Say, hey, I'm baby dog and oh, I love you now. That was my mom.
Look.
Look at the camera, Blue.
Look.
We don't keep. We don't.
You don't love me that much.
Say, yes, I do, girl. Yes, I see. This is. All that noise, this little bitty thing making. All that noise. She running into the camera. Running into. Put your head down so the people can see you. See, See? No, up. There's a good picture, girl.
Anybody want a baby doll? That's her.
Now she ready to come back on camera.
Okay, so she's small.
Yeah. She's gorgeous. She's awesome. She just something else. She's a lot.
She does.
She's still in this nipping phase.
This is our baby. Say, this is our baby.
She's still teething. Stop, Blue. Okay, so somebody asked me the difference between the apostille courses, the one and two. So the first apostille course is where we tell you the basics of what it is and how to get started. The second course, we'll be talking, going deeper into.
How to really, really, really get business calling you. Let's scoot over, Blue. How to really get business calling you. How to fill out those documents. Because it seems like a lot of people are still scared and just going through some case studies, right? And, I mean, some people are not working the business, but the money is definitely there. We're going to show you the money and see what we can do to help y' all become profitable. Because are y' all experiencing any slow season in notary Leslie and Renee?
I. I can't say if I am because I don't do it full time, but Renee can say I don't know.
Renee, you're not. You haven't seen a slowdown yet?
No, I have a signing service, so I'm not so much in the field at all. I. On the back end, and I give a lot of signing out to.
I would say no, because our company is still thriving, so. Absolutely.
Okay.
Yeah, we have a sign in service as well.
Let me see. I think in some ways we have, and in some ways we haven't. Like, personally, from a personal notary perspective. No. But in some of the companies that we work with. Yeah, some of them are kind of slowing down.
So.
Yeah.
But I hope that helped with.
Let me see, questions.
And is there a difference in the cost? Hey, Ms. Rosalind. I have not decided yet regarding the cost. The big difference in notary two in the second course, though, it won't just be a pastille stuff. We'll be talking about notarized and how to get business from a remote notice, from a remote notary standpoint as well. So it'll be well worth it.
And that'll be coming up soon. But my first course that I'm going to do, what I'm going to be.
Promoting first, will be the apostille one.
So most of you that are on here have already done that. Okay. All right. So I believe you know she about to pull the whole dagger. I'm sorry, y'. All. This ghetto, ain't it Just got too ghetto.
Hey, this was impromptu, this improv.
Oh, my God.
And then that girl gonna leave me.
Okay.
All right, y'. All. So we've been on here for 34 minutes. God bless, y'.
All.
Go to the link that is supplied within the. Within the chat. And we love you so much. I love y' all the life. Thank y' all for joining us. I know this was impromptu. Y' all are over there laughing, baby. Y' all see some fun in baby dog. And she just sliding through the house like a donkey.
All right.
Love y' all to life. Let me go take care of this dog and clean up everything. She's just messed up.
Do not pee in motion. Blue, just wait till you finish, okay? God bless, y'.
All.
Good night. I love y' all alike.
Thank you.
Bye.
Okay. Sorry about that, girl.
I can't hear you. And then you gonna come downstairs, you hear Blue doing all of this.
You wrong for leaving this dog down here.
Are we still live?
No. Oh, wait.
Are we?
Yeah, I think it says live. Oh, geez.
