I Lost My Job |Unemployment| Laid Off| Jobless | Job Loss

This YouTube video (hosted by TJ, from LaTonya Johnson's channel) gives step-by-step practical advice for people who recently lost their jobs: first contact your mortgage company's loss mitigation department to learn options (missed-payment programs), then call credit-card companies to discuss hardship options and submit requested income documentation; begin short-term side gigs (examples: become a notary—costs ~ $500 for seal/stamp/printer—or do paid surveys/respondent IO, cited as paying about $100 per task); and emotionally prioritize calming down. The tone is direct, encouraging, and pragmatic.

If you've lost your job, you've come to the right place. My name is TJ and this is Solutions by tj. And I'm so glad that you're here. Do me a favor real quick, hit that subscribe button. Because if you just currently lost your job, I'm gonna give you some things that you need to do right now. And I know it's gonna be so good that I'm worth a subscribe and a notification. I just know, okay? Beyond the shadow of a doubt. So. So listen to the whole thing, okay? First thing that you should do if you lose your job, contact your mortgage company. The actual department is called the loss mitigation department. Let them know what happened and just ask what options are available if it comes down to a point where I cannot pay my mortgage. Sometimes they have programs where.
You can miss a month of payments. You may be able to miss two months. The terms vary. I have one client who actually missed 18 months of payments. Legally, the bank allowed him to do it. So call them. That's step number one. Do the same thing for your credit cards. That's step number two. Call all of your credit card companies, let them know what's going on with you and see, you know, what kind of options they have. They may send you some documentation to fill out to figure out what your income is and go on and fill that out as quickly as possible.
Number three.
Get a side time gig. I mean, something simple. You know, it's easy to become a notary. You'll need about, I say at the most about 500 bucks to get your seal, get your stamp, maybe get your.
Printer because you'll need one of those, but you'll get paid $100 a pop. There's also, I've done a video on respondent IO, do surveys, they pay $100 a pop. Figure out ways where you can do freelance work and start bringing in some type of income just in case you don't know when you'll get another job. Okay? So just start bringing in some type of income. And you know what? I should have made number one a little different. Number one is cooling, okay? I know your nerves are bad. I've lost a job before and it just does not feel good.
So do what you got to do to feel better right now, but make sure you take care of your business and have somebody else look over it for you. The fourth thing I want you to do is look at all of your income, all of your expenses. Create a budget. See where money is coming in and money is going out. If you have subscriptions that you don't use, cancel them. I am cable free, okay? I have an Amazon fire stick and I have what's called Canadian cable. They're all over, you know, Houston at least. And I've heard that they're in other places, too. And I pay 50 bucks a month and get 3,000 channels. I have an Internet connection, okay? My Internet costs 50 bucks. So Internet and cable, it's $100. It's not fluctuating. Going up and down. 200 this month, 400 next month. No. Look at your bills. That's very important. If you have cell phone bills, see what you can get lowered at least for this time period. Maybe you'll have to drop down a bit. Maybe you need to Airbnb a room. Don't look, you know, at this as a long term affair. It's short term. Do what you have to do right now. Airbnb a room. Make sure your kids are straight. If you have to go and spend the night with somebody else, where. Where you. While you Airbnb a room in your house, then, hey, do what you got to do. But don't be so ticky like some folks. Oh, I just. Oh, I just can't. You go, oh, I just can't Yourself out of your house. So get it together, honey. Do what you have to do. And what you gotta do right now is grind it out. Been there, done that. I know you can do it, baby, because I got through it too. I'm living proof. I'm sitting right here, so I know you can do it. God bless you. If you need any more information, then, you know, just. Just hit me. That's what you can do. Leave a comment below. Let me know how you feel about it. Let me know what information you need. If you've already lost your job, if.
