You live. Hey, hey, hey, y'. All.
Hey.
Can they see us?
Yep, they can see us.
Okay.
All right.
You know what I didn't do? Hey, everybody, this is TJ with solutions by tj. You know this be raggedy on Sunday, so don't judge me, okay? I'm barely here. Give me a minute. Let me plug up my Internet so we can get the best connection. Hold on one second.
All right, well, hey, hey, hey, you guys, welcome, welcome. I love it. I love to be here.
We have Ms. Ebony Locke.
Yes.
I like that chair. I need to give me some little backdrops and settings and things.
Okay. Is that better? That should be better.
Yep. That's. That's perfect. I love those pants. You cute. Get it? Thank you, girl.
Okay, so this is what I was telling you before we went live. So I made a commitment to myself to start dressing up every day because you know how you can work from home.
And, you know, boy, life, life, be lifeing. And you a mom and you do all of this stuff and you forget who in the heck you are. You know what I'm saying? You. You just looking like.
Now you're frozen.
I don't know if I'm frozen, too.
Okay, so. Yeah.
So what's doing it. Your Internet is not letting you be great.
Do you have a lot of windows open?
Interesting. I'm gonna try Chrome. I'm gonna try Chrome.
Okay.
Because is it going black on your side?
Ebony, I can just see that you're frozen, but I can see it's still moving. Like we still live.
I don't know why. Because I have it on.
Let's see if this works.
Sometimes if you have a lot of windows open on your computer, it'll do it.
Aaron, you know I got 29 million.
Yeah, you can't have a lot of them. Yeah, not on Stream Yard. You gotta have some of them clothes.
But on Mozilla.
Hold on.
Go. I'm switching over to Google Chrome to see if that does better.
Okay.
Latonya. Latonya is just. What?
Hi.
But anyway, so trying to put on clothes, be a better person.
Get my businesses together.
And this should be my year, man. The only thing is, like, I have to figure out how to allow. How to stop allowing people to distract me.
Yes, yes.
Because, like, I don't know, I just had all these things planned. I know I gotta go live. I want to start back doing that on a consistent basis, and I have to have my days planned out or else I'm a be all over the place.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I Had a plan today that I didn't follow.
Just trying to make sure everybody else was straight. And I can't do that. I don't have a bandwidth. I mean, other people, you can interrupt their life. But I'm sorry, my life is not quite like that because there's so many missing pieces. I mean, moving pieces, moving and missing.
Hell, I said it right.
It's, it's me, you know, dealing with all these businesses. So.
Yeah, I got all off track today.
But you know what? Someone just said they posted.
Their emergency. Can't be your emergency. And you have to be okay with that.
So that's going to be one thing. And then someone else said, like, we need to have a routine in our day. We have to be routine. And that's the only way to make it work. I'm very, very routine because I've worked, you know, my whole entire life. So I'm used to being on a routine, on a schedule. I got a bedtime and everything.
But that routine works for me to get things done. It was like today I was, it was such a weight lifted to be done with my work day even though it's Sunday. And I know a lot of people say they don't work on Sundays, but Sundays are good for me. But I got up at my 5am and I was done. I always say I want to be done at 1:00'. Clock. I was done at 12:53.
Yes. And I mean, I did so many things, so many things between that time and then I had the rest of the day to kind of chill and relax. But it was all written down, every task that I was supposed to do and I just knocked them out. Knocked them out. So now I know because I'm working as a nurse for the next couple of days. I don't have to worry about the background stuff for my business. All my emails are going to go out automated. All of, you know, any bills that I needed to pay. When I was looking at my finances for the week, I was able to get it all done today to set my week off to be good.
Wow.
That's pivotal because man, dog.
It's just, you know, it seems like for me right now I'm in a position where I really like because I'm doing so much. I have, you know, this business.
With wanting to help everybody here and then my real estate stuff and then I want to do videos for the channel based on.
I was talking to Burris about this. It's going to be a real estate channel. Right.
It is also going to Be. Why did this come up?
This is different. It's going to be a real estate based channel. But I also want it to be like.
Not so stringent on real estate that I can't pivot and talk about fashion or talk about how dressing appropriately as a realtor affects your business, as a notary affects your business, affects how you present yourself to other people, affects what they think about you. Good, bad, indifferent. It does, yeah. So I want to have the flexibility to talk about all of that stuff. Dating as a realtor, single mom, business owner. I want to have the flexibility in my channel to talk about all of that stuff. So in order for me to make that content, it's gonna have to be strict. And then I got my notary stuff to talk about. You know what I'm saying? I got my notary stuff not just to talk about, baby, because I don't just talk about this. I make money every week.
Right.
I have my notary clients that I have to service and sometimes that can throw my schedule off. And maybe you can help me with this. That can throw my schedule off because. Hold on one second. What just happened? It can throw my schedule off because.
That might be last minute. Hold on one second. Let me make sure.
Okay, Maybe that's it.
Yeah. So that can, that can sometimes be last minute because if somebody calls me from the hospital, from the hospital, I'm.
Going, yeah, you going.
They need it now. They not calling you for later, you know.
Yeah.
And I mean, it's a hundred dollars a pop, you know, stuff like that.
So, yeah, you got to make room for fluff. I make room for signings. In my, in my scheduled day, there is room for notary work. Like, what time is that for you? It on say like today? On Sundays, it's between. I don't even know. I'm open 24 hours. I'll normally kind of block off my morning. So today I wouldn't take my first notary appointment until 10:30. So I had one at 11:15 and then I had one at 1:30. So it still allowed me to be done at 12:53 and get to that 1:30. And because I had that space in my day, I knew I was working from 5am to 1pm I also knew I had that notary appointment as well in there. And I just was like, all right, I know that I'm going to be doing this, so. And I knew what time, when it was time for me to get up off my computer at 11:45 and I got alarms set in my phone Always. Because I also, I have alarms set to walk away from the computer. Oh, say something positive to yourself, girl.
You need to show us that.
Yes.
Do you add that in your brain dump training?
Yeah, I talk about it always in that brain dump.
It's hard, but you're gonna get once you start doing it. You know, they say it takes 21 days to break a habit. So you want to break what you've been doing and start something new. So if you just start 21 days, and that's what I tell people, like right now. Something realistic. Like if you know that your day is hectic and you got 75 things to do, that's not realistic. Write down those five things that you really can do. Because at the end of the day you were never going to get done with those 75 things. You don't ran around like a chick with your head cut off thinking that you were and you still didn't. Versus writing down five realistic attainable goals that you can get done. And then you like, okay, boom, I did those five. I can do five more because I still got time. And then you'll get to knowing like, okay, I can realistically do seven things in a day. That's not going to be overwhelming. And then you just go from there.
Do you have kids?
1.
How old is your child?
20. You just probably saw him walk through the door. Her and her boyfriend. Girl.
All right, girl. So for what? So the kids get out at 2:50 and boy, does that feel like it's in the middle when I am humping. You know what I'm saying? As soon as I get to hopping, it's time for me to go pick them children up.
Yep, yep. You sound like Jamila. Yep. That's how she is. She in New York. So she's leaving from Manhattan, booking it back to Brooklyn. And she and her kids, one goes to elementary and one goes to high school. And she getting it. She, she got it. You know, they've been late before. But she had to get a master plan. Like I call her every morning at 5:30. Are you up? Print your documents. Let's go. So she'll be like printing her documents, I'll be getting dressed or whatever I'm doing, encouraging her to get her out the house. And then once she get out the house, but she say the same thing. She like, yo, that two o' clock comes around so quickly. Like I feel like I haven't done anything. But she's been able to manage, you know, the more and more we kind of got into that Routine. And if I mess up and I don't call her, she's like, the kids were late, you didn't call.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I, I, man, I can completely relate to that.
So.
Hey, guys. So I wanted to tell you the reason that I wanted Ebony to come on is because she is like magnificent to me. She gives out so much information. If you are not a part of her Facebook channel or you don't join her on Clubhouse, she's on Clubhouse on Thursdays. At what time?
7:00Pm Eastern.
7:00Pm Eastern. And she's not manning the 757 group as much as she was, but it's still popping in now, so. Yeah, still. But that's on Facebook and she has these things called brain dumps. And she just created a freaking ridiculous no directory just for notaries. Tell us about what you got going on.
All right, so the business brain dump is once a month we gathering and I'm giving you from A to Z everything that I use in my business, these are all the things that worked for me. I'll share stories with you guys for things that didn't work for me. I give out every resource. If I got it from somebody, I' ma tell you, look, this is what the course I took. This is how much it was. Here go the link. Anything that I'm doing in my business, I'm giving you the opportunity to let you know I'm not a gatekeeper. You can do it. I'm not dangling the carrot in front of you here, take it. You do it. Do what you want with it. I give out all the marketing templates, exact verbiage. The list of signing services and title companies is over 400. It's ridiculous. And we just connect. And the goal is to connect with other notaries, connect with like minded people. You know, they say to get to your millions, you got to be in the room with millionaires. So that's what we doing. We all millionaires, we all future millionaires. So we, we there, let's all join and connect together. So that's hell monthly.
And then I, it was a need. So what ended up happening with me was, as we all know, signings did get slow last year. What was that? 2022. And ultimately I had to make some hard decisions and I had to go back to work. I gave myself 90 days to go back to work. And I was like, I just need this job for a little bit. And I'm just going to put the signings, whatever work, whatever phone calls I get, because I get a lot of calls because I'm heavy on the marketing. Whatever phone calls I get, I'm just going to throw it in the group. I ended up putting over $5,000 worth of notary assignments in that group for the month of December. So what I decided to do was create a directory. Oh, we gone. I know. Are we back?
Yeah.
Okay. Okay.
I don't think you went off. I think you were still on.
Okay. So what I did was created a directory is a directory for notaries by a notary. And it's just you. You basically get a one page website and I'm going to market it for you. In my marketing process, I send out five emails every single day to my next potential client. If you ask me, who is your next potential client? Everybody. Anybody could be your next potential client. But I have these lists and I. And I compile my emails and all the different people who I've ever serviced. So if I service like when I started servicing, oh, there was a need for adoption paper, I went and found every single adoption community resource that I could find, adoption agency that I could find, and I started compiling that list. So now instead of me telling them, hey, my name is Ebony, I'm a notary in Chesapeake, Virginia. I'm still telling them that, but I'm letting them know. And if you need a notary anywhere in the United States, here's a directory, here's a listing of notaries everywhere. So it's not just me winning, it's all of us winning together. Right. And that is what my goal is. So in the midst of you putting yourself on that directory, I'm going to be marketing your business for you. Because I'm already sending five emails out on my behalf. I may as well add you guys too. So every week they'll be. Your business will be marketed at least 25 times. And there's four weeks in a month that's, you know, showing your business to a hundred new clients every single month. So I think it's dope. We're filling up. I think we're at 20 so far. Yep. And she left me, but I think we are at 20 in the. I can't put comments in, but it's WWNotaryConnect. C-O-N-N-E-X.com if you are interested in signing up. And I think it's going to be amazing. I think that this is going to really help a lot of people and then it'll also move them on the algorithm to show them with some online presence because that's what you want?
Absolutely, man. I love it. Hey, brother Black, how you doing? Yeah, I think it's freaking.
So tell them the reason that I'm so dog unimpressed. Tell them in, in one day.
How many signings do you normally get or how many. Not even just signings, but how many notary jobs do you normally do in an average day?
On an average day? Well, back when it was pandemic days, I was doing between eight to ten in a day. But I'll say now that we're kind of eased on off, I probably do between 3 and 5. Now, 3 is low and then 5 is pretty decent. But I've also transitioned my notary business from a full time business to a.
Part time business.
As well.
And it's only because I have so many moving parts, you know, I was able, you know, during that slowdown. It taught me to pivot and expand in other areas. So like last week I had to really look at it. I didn't realize that I did 11 closings last week. I also worked 36 hours as a nurse and I also did three weddings and I traveled. I had to move my daughter back on campus. I didn't even realize all of those things happen until what, Saturday? I was like going to bed at 5 o' clock and I was like, why am I so tired? And that's when I was like, oh, I had a busy week.
Things did I do because I just returned back. I just returned. I returned that a job back to that employer, the full time job, because I was working a whole nine to five, Monday through Friday. And I was like, oh, no, this ain't gonna work for me. 90 days. I just need to readjust some money real quick. And then now Starting, it was January 1st that I was like, okay, I'm back in the notary game. And it was like that day, the same day that I came back, I was booked up all that day. I was like, what is this? Okay? God. It didn't take long. I said, what did I say? It's like riding a bike. And then from there I just kind of stayed pretty consistent. I think this week so far I have five signings on the books. But you know that as a notary, you know, our phone can ring any time.
And actually, are they signings or just general notary work?
I had. They're a mix. I think I have, I had one general notary today. I have a POA in the middle of the week. And then the other three are seller's packages.
Okay.
And Then sometimes when I do the sellers, it's like. And especially with this guy here that I'm doing these three for, he'll always. He always waits until the sign in. He'll be like, can you do the buyer side, too? So I'll probably end up with three more. I just gotta wait till I get to the seller side first. But he does it all the time. He'd be like, yo, since you got the documents. I'd be like, we could have done this over the phone. But yeah, I'm gonna do.
Yeah. Yeah. So I know that in your brain dump, you talk about how you stay busy, how what your. What your marketing. Your marketing strategy is, and you know, what your calendar looks like, how you do it, and that's what makes it so awesome. And you know another thing that makes it awesome is I'm trying to get this lady to raise her prices.
But she is giving this information away, and people are not taking advantage of it to the point where I think it is because she stays freaking busy. If you are not staying busy, what are you doing?
Right?
What are you doing, man? She has the information.
Yeah.
She even put me onto that wedding coordinator thing. I was like, what?
Yeah.
That's interesting. So I'm not. I'm a. I'm the person that makes the phone calls to get the cake, to get the venue, to get this. I am not the person who's decorating dang on place and putting all this together. I just make phone calls and secure it. And then, you know, oh, yeah, that's it.
That is it. It's like being the middleman of the signing services. And that's what you had. That's how I had to think of it. When I thought about the. The day of coordinator, I said, that's like a signing service. You're the middleman. The signing services, connecting the notary to the signer. I'm the wedding coordinator where I'm connecting the bride and groom to whatever vendor. Yeah, that's what. And that's what they need. And it takes a relief off of it. Oh, my goodness. The weddings and the wedding coordinator. I stayed booked. Booked. I booked two weddings today. Like, I never thought that the wedding part was going to take off the way it did. And again, it came from that same marketing strategy. Yo, if you don't have a Google business page, I better get y' all one. Y' all better get y' all one. And I had never ran ads. I've never ran ads, but I'm going to get into it because you teaching me about it. And I'm like, I might be in the position to where now I can make that investment into running ads where before. If you're new and you're just getting started, I can give you every single way to get up there on that algorithm without paying a dime. Does it take some sweat equity? Yep. Absolutely. I paid my dues this morning in that sweat equity po. I did 193 posts for the week, and I'm sure I'm not done. I'm sure I missed something. But post.
What kind of posts?
Marketing my business. Like, Like. Like you run a Google Ad the same way. I'm just making my own. I made a whole bunch of Google Ads this week, but I'm making my own and I just create my own content. I create it in Canva and I schedule.
Oh, okay, so you're saying on your Google page, you're creating content for your Google Business page.
Oh, so let's. Okay, so I'm. Let's. Let's pull. Put your share screen. I want to see your.
Oh, yeah, if I could share my screen over here. Hold on. I can do. I got you. Hold on. Let's go with.
All right. Share screen.
And I want this one.
All right. Hope. Can you see my screen?
Not yet. Oh, wait, let me put it on the thing. Add to the stream.
Yep. There you go.
Yeah.
So this here is my Google business page. And as you see, I typed in notary near me and I came up first. And then these are my mentees.
These are the posts. So with SEO, they pick up words and not pictures. And I schedule out these posts and then I just make sure that my verbiage is correct. So the algorithm picks me up.
And I have my call to action here. And all of my businesses have a Google business page. And I post on my Google business page a few times a week and I make it something simple like this in Canva and I use a platform to make it automatically post.
Okay.
I'm running my own. Basically, I'm running my own ads. If I had the.
See if I can Google.
And when you do that, when you post regularly to your Google business page, you definitely. I mean, it gives you some weight, right?
Yes. It will move you right on up. And the same thing with 757-not-ary sister. So like when I was doing the Canva classes, that was all a post. And people bought from there. When I have my brunches, people bought from there and I just keep going. And the same thing with.
Our boss events. That's the photo booth in the wedding officiant business.
Right here. All of that I'm posting, I'm everything that I have. And then like I said, SEO, they picks up, they pick up on words. So you just got to make sure that your content is good. Amen to chat, GPT and the Canva magic writer. I can get easy verbiage that is going to pick up on SEO.
Okay.
All for the free. Free. Free 99. Because again, I'm funding all of my businesses now. Let me stop sharing my screen.
Screen. Got you. I love that.
Thank you.
And see, that's why you the goat. Yeah, that's why I love that. So, okay, so you said, dang, you created a hundred posts today.
Let's see, 193. Now, mind you, I do all of them in Canva and I do have them already set up. Like when I. I'll do like a hundred, I'll do a hundred social media posts, say for Ebony's mobile notary. I'm not using all 100 of them right now, but they're already made.
Wow.
And they're in my Canva. And then I use planable to make it where I can schedule the post and I'll share my screen again. Let me just pull everything up.
And on my planable, I have.
Share screen. All right, you're gonna have to pull it back up again. There we go.
So this is planable and you can just go to whatever week. So we getting ready to go into this week here. So these are all the posts that I made today. And these will all go out all week long onto different social media platforms. And that's just me marketing my business. Some of it is photo booth. You see a few for the directory, some for the business Brain dump. My boss events, everything is here. And I have what my ebony's mobile notary, 757 Facebook group. 757 Facebook page, 757 Instagram, the Google business page, Ebony's mobile notary, Google Business, my LinkedIn, my Boss Events, all of it is here. And I did all of this this morning.
Yeah, but it's gonna go out. So I, you know, a lot of people, they always be like, oh, you always on social media. But I'm not. I'm not. It's doing it for me. I was on today and it's going to post for the whole week for me. And I try to be easy on the weekends just to give it a break. Just to give myself a break too.
Yeah, but I mean, so it. How long does it take you to create that stuff in Canva.
I can go down a canva rabbit hole in a minute. But I love canva. I have fun in there. And it's because it was so new to me and I couldn't work it. And now that I can, it's so great. It doesn't. It can take a long. It can take a while, maybe a few hours, give or take how many posts I'm doing. But once you have them in there, like, I haven't had to create anything from scratch in so long. Yeah, I can just go into my canva and I'll even show you my canva. Like, it's not anything that's a secret. And I use. Like I said, I use the. You gotta. Let's see. Sorry about that. I know you got this. I know you sick of me. You got. You ain't bothering me. But this is like in my canva and this is everything. And like, I made. I had to make the Martin Luther King. I was like, oh, Martin Luther King Day. Everybody needs one. But like, this One here is 16 different things for the 360 photo booth. This here is 15 different things for boss events for the wedding officiant.
This is.
Here is a hundred just business quotes. But once I made them, they were made. And I do support other small businesses. So if I see somebody that's made something nice, like, I know I bought these, I've never used them, but I know I bought them because I want to say it was another notary that showed me that she had an Etsy store. And I was like, let me support her. And I just keep making stuff. And like I said that new. This new doc writer in Canva, I love it because now I'm starting to put stuff there. And all of my content is right here. My thank you cards, business cards, everything that I want to say when I'm marketing my business to these title companies. I think I bought this one from latonya. And I just go in, like, this one.
I know. Yeah. This one, I think. Or is this mine? I always get it.
I love it.
Yeah. I don't know. No, this must be mine. It's a lot of gold. So. And this is just different stuff that's already ready to go or either almost ready to go. And I'll just come in here and I'll just grab something like this and I'll be like, okay, I'm gonna use this. Let me just download it. But it used to be a different color wherever I got it from. And I Just make it into my. My business colors. Add my logo, which I made in canva, all of that and keep going.
Yeah.
All my content.
I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it. You the goat man. I'm trying to tell you.
Yeah, but it ain't easy. You gotta have like that discipline. And I just have to keep going with my discipline and just. Okay, here we are. I'm ready. And I just have that look. I got my book right here that I write down my daily things to do. And everybody's like, oh, I'm not a writer. Well, become one. I wasn't either. I wasn't either until I started losing track of stuff. But now I got my book, I write down my five attainable things that I know that I need to get done today, and I mark them off as I go. And we. And I tell anybody on Sunday, that's my social media day. That's why I always put that reminder in that Facebook group. Don't forget to post on your social medias. And this is what I'm saying. Go into your canva, make three or four things that you're gonna post. You know, I'm not saying you gotta post as heavy as I do. It took time to get here. It's not overnight, but when you get it, you got it.
That sounds amazing.
That sounds amazing. Really? Okay, well, cool beans. Oh, every time I talk to you, I get so doggone excited. Oh, you want to show them the directory?
Yes. We can show them the direct.
Yes.
Let's get it, let's get it. Hold on, let me get it, let me get it, let me get it. I got it pulled up. So this is my new baby. There we go. All right, pull me up.
All right, so let's go to the front of the directory.
All right, so this is the front of it. And when I go and market this to the clients, like again, I'm going to let them know, you know, I have notaries nationwide, so this is what they will see. And they'll be able to go to Alabama, wherever state they need a notary in. The goal is for them to click it and those notaries will come up. But of course, we just. I just launched it two days ago. So we only have 20 notaries and I'm not sure what all states they're in, but even if they don't even want to explore by state, they can just click the notary listing just like this and we all show up and just you. So this is where they would show up and Then say.
I know, like Trinity Notary Services. She's in Virginia. And you basically get this one page website and it says her business hours. It'll say exactly what it is and what she takes and how to contact her and how to find her on social media and her location. So like when that attorney looks, they're gonna say, okay, yes, I need a notary in Virginia. Boom, perfect. She's in Manassas. That's where I need that notary at. And it says that she's a loan signing agent. She's a notary public and she's in Virginia.
Does it show her picture? I saw the pictures.
Yeah, it shows it on the front page before they click it on this page. Oh, gotcha on this one here. So we got a few people and there go Bianca. I love her.
And she has hers up here. And what she was opened earlier and she got a long description. Say, look, you're gonna know all about me. She is Maryland's notary with her tippett. You better get it.
Okay.
And it shows her location as well. And they can like share this. You can. Like I said, for people that's balling on a budget and you don't have money to have a website. Here, go one pager.
Give us. What's the link? Let me type in the link over here. You gave it to me over the phone.
Oh, okay, hold on, let me, let me get you the link.
I'll put it in the chat.
Yes.
Oh, I can't put. Oh, I gotta put it over here in the private chat. I didn't know that. See, I ain't never been on this side of stream yard.
Yeah, notary connects.
Yep. And that's what it is. We connecting. We connecting. We notaries and we connecting. And so I did. We just kind of looked to see what were some of the popular things. So we know Apostille is one. So if you are Apostilles, as in it'll tell you the number. So like we have 20 people in there, but only 10 of them offer apostille services.
Oh man.
Yeah, only nine of them offer fingerprinting services. We only have one translator so far. So the, the goal is to get several notaries with in every state. And I know that. I think there's one in California. So when they go and they click California.
Boom. Two. I got two California notaries.
You got Texas. I need to go and fill mine out.
Let's see, I don't know if there's anybody body in Texas that signed up yet. Let's Find out.
Let's see if anybody in the great state of Texas. And that's what my biggest audience is, surprisingly, is in Texas.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, I see some people.
Oh, wait a minute. How do you see people? I don't see nobody because I don't.
Went to the website.
Oh, okay. Yep, yep.
Don't give up. But nope, no Texas people yet. So hopefully they'll. They'll start coming in. So Texas show up and show out. Because I do a lot of work with a lot of people from Texas. I work with a lot of title companies out of Texas. Oh, baby.
Okay, so.
When you. So when you sign up, do you have to sign up as.
So I'm. I'm messing with it on the other end while you talking about that. So say I. It says select the type and then add your listing.
So just start off as a notary.
You just have one package, and that package is 1757 for the year.
Okay.
But a whole year. Yep. And then you'll. Once you start adding, you'll start off as a notary and then you can add whatever additional things as we go on. And with me talking to you, I'm thinking I probably need to add a section for real estate agents.
Why not?
Yeah, I can add that. So that can be another one. So like we can see how many are also notaries and real estate agents. So I think I will. I think I will. I'll add that. I'll work on that on Tuesday. Tomorrow's a holiday. We're celebrating holidays this year. Yeah, because last year I worked through them all and. But this year, tomorrow, I mean, I'm going to work as a nurse because it pays time and a half and I'm never gonna pass up $80 an hour. But.
But my glasses on that movie, right?
Because. Yeah, but I'm not doing any business tomorrow.
But I love it.
That is. That is perfect. That is really, really, really, really good.
Yeah. So. And I'm hoping by February 1st I'll have enough people in there even with, with, with or without them. I'm still going through, but I'm giving Everybody until about February 1st before I start sending out those first round of emails. And then I'm gonna send everybody that's listed up there a email so they know exactly what's being sent on their behalf.
Man 17 For a year.
Let me tell you what I don't like about that.
And I don't told you in private, but I'm gonna tell you in public.
You'Re not getting paid.
I'm not. Yeah. By the time I pay everybody to do to move these pieces, this is.
Volunteer work for you on top of everything else that you do.
Yeah.
That'S not good.
I know.
If it was 17amonth, you'd be getting paid.
Because if you consider your time, even with the email portion, creating that email, sending that email out, just your marketing activity activities, that's worth 17amonth, bro. If you ain't do. Come on, Ebony. What do I need to do to help you to start charging?
I know I got to increase these prices. I'm working on it. I'm working on it. I was like, I just remember when I started, and I remember it was, sign up for this, buy this, buy this, join this. And I spent thousands. Like, I literally ran myself broke chasing after every single course, every single class. And they were not cheap. And everybody was saying the same thing. Make a Google business page and market yourself. Yo, I can't do that. So it was just like, I need to have something that is cost effective for the people. So I. At least they know. And then there's also that other part of that 1%. You know, you can sell a product, you can tell people something, but only 1% of the people gonna do what what they say they gonna do, because that's what a lot of people said, you know? Oh, well, now everybody gonna come out with a directory. Yeah, anybody can have a directory. But are you gonna market it the way I market my directory? Because it's only one me, right?
Absolutely. And you're tried and true with your word.
Right.
You know, you, you, you, you're follow through. Your execution is amazing.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
And I understand what you're saying about.
Yeah, See, I even did a video about that because my, my thing is you follow. You pick your person and you follow that person. That's really the cheapest way to go. Because everybody basically is saying the same thing. It ain't that many variations of this thing.
Right.
You know what I'm saying? Like, I believe that the way that I explain stuff, the way that Mariama, who is my cousin, explains stuff.
It's certain people, when I learn, I'm gonna learn better from this person because I understand their language. They break it down to where I understand it, and everybody doesn't do that. So then you start just buying too much stuff. Honey, this is a bunch of stuff that sound good, you know? Yeah, I, I understand that for the entry level people, too.
But it seems like, man, it need to be scholarships or something.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll See, and that's why we working on some funding. I'm applying for these grants, and one of the grants that they asked me, what would I do with the funding is like, I would love to give back to, like, find 10 single mothers that is really trying to start their business. And I was able to award them with, say, maybe going through my course or award them with a printer and things like that. It's like, I always want to make sure. Yeah, Like, I want to make sure that I'm giving back so you can do something great later.
That's the goal. But I'm still, you know, I know that if I increase my prices, it will bring in more revenue for me to be able to give back. But right now I'm just like, look, I'm just trying to be a resource. And then I also have to remember I'm a toddler in this game. You know, I got commissioned in 2021. Why would you listen to me versus somebody, say, who was commissioned and been in the game since 2015?
Well, here's why. Here's why. Calculate your number of signings and the, The. The regularity in which you. Somebody could be commissioned in 2015 and not have done half as much work as you because you've done this full time, part time, sometime, all the time. You know what I'm saying? So when you do something more than somebody else, you have really more knowledge of them. You're in the game. That's why I keep. I'm not. I don't just teach. I don't just have a company. I go to signings. Yeah, I do. I take notary work. I go to the hospital. That's why I know I ain't charging less than a hundred dollars to get into the hospital. Oh, my God. I'm off the subject, y', all, but I gotta tell y', all, y' all know my little stories.
I had a client, her dad called me on Friday during the day. I thought he was a. A white guy.
But when I got to the appointment, he said, so I need. I need to get an appointment to sign an affidavit for the school district for my daughter. Her. Her daughter is with me. And. And I need to be the. Get a temporary power of attorney to deal with her daughter at school.
Yep.
Bang. Okay. Where's she at? She is in the mental health facility in such and such part of Houston. Oh, once you say that, baby. You arrive, you have one hour.
You arrive, you're gonna stand now 15, 20 minutes. If you're not the first one at the door or longer. I've been, I've done this before. You could stand down 45 minutes and not get in and just have 15 minutes to go. They don't play and you're not going there. Got to take all your clothes off, earrings and everything to get through this thing because you can't have nothing on you that's any type of pen that can be snatched out of your ear, put in your eyeball. I mean, you know what I'm saying? So, yeah, a hundred dollars, A hundred dollars might not be even enough because it's. Take a long, it takes a while even to get into hospitals. When you got to navigate through the hospital, you don't know where you go to elevator J on the, on the far right wing. It's like, oh my God, where am I? You didn't ask five people, so $100 minimum. Yeah, but so this lady. So he, he was getting me to his daughter. So we met with his daughter. When I tell you she was beautiful.
She looked like me, to be honest with you, in a little bit. She had short hair like mine, she was about my height, she was brown skinned. But when I saw her, for whatever reason, I could relate and see myself in this lady without her saying a word.
She was very, very eloquent, very intelligent, very sweet. I'm like, didn't ask them name my business while you're here, blah, blah, blah, helping them sign the documents, telling them, you know what to do next, all of that. So her dad wanted a glass of water and he was going to try to hunt the nurse down. And she said, girl, you know why I'm in here? Oh. She said, oh, no, no, no, no. It didn't start like that. She said, do you have, do you have a business card? And I said, you know what, I have it on my phone. But they make you put your phone, baby, you ain't going back down with nothing, right? So you got to have your phone in the locker. And I said, you know what? My business card is in the locker, but you can write your name in my journal. I mean, you have to write your name, but you can put your number where the info part is. She's like, okay, so what, what else do you do? I said, wow, man. I'm a business owner and a single mom. I have like shoot, three, four different businesses. I operate nine short term rentals. I, I have a YouTube business, a training business, and I'm a realtor. And she was like, oh, wow. So this lady was telling me how she's the, the regional director of funding for the state of Texas. And just all this stuff. Extremely intelligent, Same thing. Single mom, business owner and a full time job.
Yeah.
She said, so what got me here was trying to juggle it all by myself.
I said, whoa.
Yeah, I understand. She said, I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown. I knew I felt weird. I felt like I couldn't breathe. Looking back, it might have been an anxiety attack, but I was so jittery and it just felt like I was slowly crumbling. I went to the, I drove myself to the hospital and checked myself in.
Yeah. She said that once she got there, was voluntary. She said they kept her overnight, did some assessments, and then all of a sudden it wasn't voluntary. And she said, and I'm talking to them the exact same way that I'm talking to you. No different. You know, I was calm, but I was letting them know how I was feeling. And so she said the next day they transferred her. So it's not voluntary anymore. They transferred her to another facility and she couldn't even leave on her own at this point. They have to let her go.
Yeah.
So she was like, oh my goodness. She said, so with, she felt like with us, it's a money grab because she said, the other people that are in here, they.
They real, they need this.
Me, I'm all right now.
I feel a lot better. I'm just taking a vacation. She said, and everybody, every black woman that's in here has pretty much the same story. I'm about to crack up. Or I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown because I'm doing too much.
Yeah.
I'm trying to have three, four businesses. And part of mine is adhd. Right. So three, four businesses and then a single parent. It's a lot, ladies.
It's a lot. It's a lot.
I look at everything you do, man. Dog, I gotta see your schedule. I. I really have to.
Yeah.
It'S crazy. And trust me, it's a lot. And I've been there and thank God that I'm a nurse and I can tap into my mental health and I know when I'm spiraling. Yeah, I've been on meds before because I've known and I've dealt with depression, I've dealt with those things and everything. And I know what triggers me and I know the goods and the bads of. And I still deal with a lot of it because even now I've been. I've always been transparent. I smoke cigarettes. I hate cigarettes. I hate the Smell of them. I hate the taste of them. But if I don't, I'm like this. I'm like this. And I just need a fix. And that's just my fix. And I'm like, okay, well I could do crack. Even though that doesn't make sense. You know, they both bad, but it makes sense to me. I just need to come down and like people be like, I didn't even know you smoked. Because if I'm at work and if I'm doing something in my occupied. I'm not smoking is when I'm quieting the noise. And I have to remember, okay, you got four signings tomorrow. You got to print your documents, you got a wedding, you got to send an invoice. You need to make sure that you take your daughter back to school, pay her tuition, pay your rent, make sure your car payments pay. Oh, God. You didn't get enough signings this week. Did you do your monthly owners withdrawal? Did you pay your taxes? What happened there? What's falling behind? What's not working that you were doing last week that you're not doing this week? Oh, the car broke down. Oh, you gotta go speak here. And then that's when I get to. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Laundry to do. I still have laundry to do. And then just throw in being a female and you a single person and you getting, you know, you quiet in the noise and you really dealing with. Okay, yeah, it's great that I own all these businesses, but you don't have a life to share with nobody. You ain't been there.
Dealing with all of that.
That's it.
Yeah. So I always try to make sure I tell people like, yo, I'm human. And then I got my phone going off every single five minutes. Help me get started as a notary. I missed the business brain dump. Can you, can you, can you. It's like you're getting pulled in. And then that's when I had to learn your emergency is not my emergency.
Yeah.
And so then I scheduled in a day, you check your emails on Wednesdays, not for my notary business, but for 757. So all the people that be emailing me and I got just a simple question or if you just call it.
Because I do offer one on ones and you won't pay for one, but because you got my email address. You ready to email me? I can't stop what I'm doing every single time because then it distracts me from doing what I need to do to build me and then it makes me even crazier because I'm already dealing with life and the thousands of other things that I got going on.
That's why I say you deserve a raise, baby.
I hope I get one.
Give it to yourself.
Yeah, Yeah. I gotta give it to myself. And you have to give it.
You deserve it. I'm telling you, baby. I guess because I grew up in the ghetto Ebony, I'd have seen people always with their nails done, hair done, every Friday.
Yeah.
And say they can't afford food.
What? Yeah. Yeah.
I ain't never seen nobody who wanted $20 and didn't find $20.
What I took when I said they got a.
Big borrow of steel.
So.
17. I mean, I. I still would say 37.
Yeah. Yeah.
We're gonna.
We're gonna work.
I mean, I know you on the 11757, but, you know, hey, you. I don't know how you need to manipulate them numbers, baby, but.
Yeah.
You.
Your worth. It's about your inners.
It's just, you know.
I think at some point, even in my journey in this notary business, I have given my. Given so much of myself till that was a part of. That's why I had to step away from the YouTube channel. I wasn't all right.
I was not all right. It's not all right.
Yeah.
Because I confine myself. I. This is like. I treat this like a job, baby. I gotta be here at 8:30, you know what I'm saying? Am I getting paid for it? No, but I gotta be here at 8:30. I gotta do this, I gotta do that. I take. I'm same thing. I'm free consultation calls, free this, free day. I've done that. So I get what you saying. And maybe you just gotta get to that point where it's like, you know what? I need a raise because people can pay for it. And I give out scholarships. So maybe, you know, with an event that I'm putting on, I' ma reserve 10 spots for people who for real, can't pay for it.
Right?
Yep. And then that's what I was trying to.
The notary family is so wonderful, dog.
Yeah.
So giving. So awesome. If you ask people, hey, if you have a little extra, can you. Can you sponsor someone? They'll sponsor another person. Hey, I'm paying this for it. I'm giving this. I'm paying 200, you know what I'm saying?
For real.
They do it. Yeah, they have it done on my. On my. On my stuff.
Yep, on my stuff too. On my Business brain dumps. Like when the people come out of it, they say, it was so good. I want to sponsor somebody and coordinate it and for them to get sponsored, it is. It's amazing. We've done that and I love it. And that's one thing that I will say about the notary community. There are so many resources out here, and that's what I always tell people. I may not be your cup of tea, but at least allow me to help you find that cup of tea. Because I know I'm not for everybody. I know I'm a little the same way.
Yeah, yeah. I feel the exact same way. I feel the exact same way. I understand what you are saying. People with a whole lot less knowledge than you are charging way more than you, sweetheart.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
You in this thing. You in this thing for real. You are a genuine good person. And I'm not, you know. Yeah. God. God gonna bless you. Absolutely. You gonna stay working and be wise in all things. That's all I'm saying. Be wise in all things. All of this at the end of the day is to put food in your mouth and your kids mouth and you can give more and have more time to really pour when you do what you supposed to do to re. See, my goal is not a small elevation of people. I really want to elevate people to a whole different lifestyle.
Right.
Whole different life. Your world changed, you know, that's. That's what I'm going for. And it might just be two, three people. Yeah, that's it.
That'll be my.
My prize in life is to say, this person came to me, they were here, they started the notary business, then they became this, then they did this. And their dream was this. And I helped them reach that.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying? Now that's big. That's big to me. That's just. That's my goal.
Yeah. Yep. And that's what I said. I wanna. I wanna do that with everybody. And I love the feedback that I get. I get so much feedback saying, ebony, you changed my life. And I'm like, yo, somebody changed mine. You know, like I tell them, I started off by watching a simple YouTube video and I just went gung ho with it. And I don't know, I wasn't that 1%. You know, I was in that 1% where I'm gonna do it and I'm gonna do it 10 times fast and I'm gonna do it 10 times hard. And I've just been able to kind of figure out what works, what doesn't work. And we just going from there. And I can't wait to get to your level. You know, my goal is what? You know, I always want to take baby steps. I want to flip a mobile home one, but then from there I want to buy the whole park out and I want to turn it into a place for single moms. And you know, my story is that I've been evicted numerous of times because I just was not making enough per hour to afford my rent. And as a single mom, what do you do? I, I never qualified for affordable housing because I was a one person, a single mom. And at the time I was a nursing assistant. So when you have one kid and you make 13 an hour, you don't qualify for nothing.
Girl, hold on. Oh, it just poured into my spirit. God just poured something into my spirit. You know what we don't see?
Single mother group homes.
Yep, yep.
Think of like a, a mobile home community.
With single moms that can help each other cook, pick up, churn dude, wash clothes, fold clothes.
That's my goal. That's my long term goal.
That would be retarded.
And then to help them get business started if they want to go to, you know, the rent would be enough to where? Okay, if I need to go and get my high school diploma or associate's degree because everybody not made to be a business owner. But if you want a little side hustle, you can. But I want it to be where there are programs within that community that will help single moms have success instead of more struggle. And I know we got public housing and whatnot, but no, this is something different. This is not for the one that wants to stay on that assistance program. This is where, hey, your rent, instead of you paying $1,000 a month for a two bedroom, two bath or whatever you're paying, maybe your rent is 600 because it's a mobile home community and here are some resources. Like that's really my long term goal out of this, is that let my businesses make me enough money to where if I can buy one, flip it, see what that does and then buy 2, 3, 4, next thing you know, I own the park.
I know where to find the single mamas. Y' all out here.
Y' all out here and it's just going to, you know, and it'll be definitely things like, okay, once a month you got to come to this. Or you know, it would be different things in it. But this vision of mine is having, you know, a couple of them, y' all run daycare centers. A couple of them might be fixing credit. And you all know your neighbors and you communicate with like minded people. And then eventually the goal is for you to get out. And now you a new homeowner. Now I get you hooked up with tj who now is ready to sell you, you know, your first home. And now you own a property. And we get the next person in to help them get on and out their way.
And it would be beautiful if we are our own clients.
Yeah, why not?
We are our own clients. So everybody need a daycare. Hey, y', all, we start one home daycare. She at home already. It's a home daycare. Once she get full, we get a property, well, we all and our kids to her. You know what I'm saying? Because they've been going there all their life. Y somebody in the in there, they make plates out of their house. Because everybody is going to work and trying to do this. Don't have time to cook. Yeah, she starts a service of a food delivery.
Yeah, Meal prepping. That's a whole business, meal prep.
And she's on stamps, right? Yeah, all of them can bring their stamps or whatever you on stamps. So your food could really. Instead of paying $10, you just pay maybe 3 to $5, you know what I'm saying? Just to make sure that she has an income coming in. Then this person does laundry. They got a whole freaking laundry service. You put it in the bag, they take your bag, take. Go wash and fold your bag for you and your children. I mean, it's a whole like village of people serving each other, right?
Beautiful.
And so it ain't no way you.
Ain'T got no business, baby. Because everybody need these services. All of us.
There you go. There you go. And that's what I tell. I said, I'm like, notary is not end all be all. Take my recipe that I use and utilize it in whatever it is that speaks to you. Because the same way if you want to be a daycare provider, you got to have a presence. They got to be able to find you to say, hey, abc, daycare is open. And this is what they do. If you want to be that laundry service, house cleaner, whatever it is that calls you, it's gonna be that same recipe that I use for my notary business.
And utilizing anything and that enough. I've proven that. I started that photo booth rental business. I did everything that I did in my mobile notary business to start renting out photo booths. That360 was booked before I even got it now.
That's how you really do it.
I've been booked and busy ever since. Like, it's been crazy. The CPR business, I had to actually put a pin in it because I kept getting bookings, and I don't have the. The CPR babies yet, and everybody gotta have their own, and they sell them six at a time for $2,000. So I need to spend six grand to get all of my babies because I gotta have a certain amount of adults and a certain amount of babies. But what I started doing. Or.
Or you could play the middleman in that. Until you get your stuff, you always got to be thinking in the middle. How quickly do you need it? I' ma have mine at this time. I don't have it yet. But listen, I can take a small cut out of this money, and I will get another service provider to do this for you in the meantime, until all I have, all of my stuff, I could.
Yeah.
And then when. When you get so big, you might have to still go find places and play that middleman. I ain't got. I can't do all of them.
Right, right, right. And see, and that. That's. That's real good. And it's just. I gotta find people, you know, I don't know people. I know people online. It's like, I don't know people in real life. Like, when I say I have no life, I don't interact with another adult. I don't see adults. I don't see people unless I'm at, like, a sign in or something like that. But, like, far as talking on the phone, hey, girl, you want to go out to lunch? No, none of that happens in my life. I'm at home.
Well, it would be the same way that you find vendors for the wet. You know what I saying? If you want to find a vendor who does cpr, you find one the same way you find the vendors for the wedding stuff.
Yeah, yeah, I guess I could. I could. I'm gonna definitely think about that, because right now I'm like, okay, I'm putting. And then another. I was just like, ebony, you don't have enough time. You're gonna get like this again. You're gonna get like this. So be easy.
So I keep adding businesses. You keep on adding businesses. You will. And you keep adding businesses because you have not. You don't pay yourself right. You gonna wear yourself the heck out.
Yeah. Because I'm here.
But your ideas are brilliant. Yeah, brilliant.
Thank you. Yeah, that is definitely true. It's Like, I'm not getting it. I'm not bringing in the revenue that I should bring in because of the prices being so low. And that's what I'm definitely learning this year. And over these last few months, it's like, I know you want to help everybody, but your price got to be your price and you got to stick with it. And I still struggle with that because I just remit it. Just. I guess it's triggering because when I look back at that good old Capital One card that I used to have, and I'm like, it's $9,000 maxed out. And I see what it was maxed out on, and I'm like, really? That's disgusting. But it was trial and error, and I had to learn. And that's the only reason why I'm here today is because I had to do that to learn. And then now I just need to be able to bring it across to other people in a way that's still lucrative for me and still great.
Affordable for them.
Right?
Lucrative and affordable.
Right.
So we working on it. We're being great on purpose, right?
Absolutely, man. We are all. Listen.
I get it. I mean, I, I, I. When I had Madison, when I got pregnant and went, bro, I ain't have underwear. I have underwear. Seriously, my stomach was too big for my underwear. I gotten too wide for my draws. I ain't have underwear. Broke. I get it, I get it. I didn't have not having nowhere to stay. I get all of that. I get it, I get it.
Yeah. And it'd be real life. And that's what I tell people, like, real life stuff. Go on back here. I remember as I was starting, like, I took some big, some big sacrifices. My car got repossessed during my notary journey.
I was facing, you know, because I didn't know what I was doing. I was picking. Signing up for this course or paying my car payment, chasing after understanding what a $62 signing is versus a hundred dollar signing. And these are all things that I had to learn. And I was like, yo, I don't want anybody to go through none of the stuff that I went through. You know, I watched my credit score. I had worked so hard raising my daughter and getting her all good, watch my credit score go from like a 740 to a 551. All because of just different decisions, decisions and trying to figure out this whole business thing. And I'm like, wait, wait, let's get some grounding. And then now let's figure it out.
So I Wish you would have met me. I really do. I do.
I knew who you were. I was scared of you. Why? I don't know. I used to. I told Lashonda all the time. I always would talk about. She was like, you know, she's nice. And like, she gave me your number a long time ago. And she was like, call her.
And I was like, no.
Girl, you just as crazy. Hey, girl, I am. I mean, I'm the most approachable person. I'm, you know, and I. I want to see people win.
Right. I don't have no problem picking up.
I would have you for free, to be honest with you. I mean, I really would have.
Yeah. It would not have been a problem.
I think I do remember lashawn mentioning you, because me and lashawn are off and on. On the phone.
I do.
I think I do remember that.
Yeah.
I didn't know. I'm just putting it together, Ebony. But. But I didn't know it. Yeah, no, I. I trust me, I do a bunch of free and a bunch of paid.
Right?
I do both.
Yeah.
And then my community, we put together and help people out because it can't just be me. I got you. I got that little girl and she like to eat. Can't just be me, you know?
Yeah. And that's my goal. I want to get out in the community. I want to be a resource to my own local community. I'm working on going into schools and talking to high school students. I'm working on talking. I want to talk to people that have that same story that may be an orphan just like me. And, you know, maybe thinking, you know, I can't do this. I can't. I want to go in and I want to spread to them like, yo, you can do anything you set your mind to. Don't let your, you know, change the narrative of your story. That doesn't have to be your story.
Absolutely. Yeah. I want to give back in so many ways. Like, my mind goes. I'm woken up in the middle of the night and I'm writing down stuff. Just different things to tap into. And it's. It's. It's amazing.
I love it. I. I think you have some amazing ideas. Your spirit is. Is awesome. Before I forget y', all, the follow up for the Google Ads event is going to be.
Hold on, let me look at my calendar. This coming weekend on the 21st at 6pm Central Standard Time, Burris is going to send out an email on it just to let y' all know the people who paid for the training. I wanted to give y' all a month. This is why it's taking so long. I want you. If you have not done it, I want you to go through the training and do it when we get together. It ain't gonna do you no good if you ain't did it already, because then you'll know. Okay, what questions do I have? I've done this. This is where I got stuck. Go through the whole thing as far as you can. All you gotta do on an ad is spend two, three, five dollars, maybe put schedule yourself for $20. That's $5 for four days.
That's it.
See how it goes. And then let's get together this coming Saturday and say, okay, this is what happened. What do I need to change? Because what I really want to do. We have a small group of people. I want us to go through your ads and take a look and give advice and. Yeah, this is real. This is real.
And you run ads for the. For your notary business as well?
Yep. Real estate ads, General notary work, Apostille work. Oh, whoever. If you speak Spanish and you don't run Google Ads, you are missing out.
If you in Texas.
Oh, gosh. Yeah.
They need somebody, y'. All. You missing out because I get those calls five times a day and I'm referring them to someone. But, you know. Yeah, you missing out. If you'd like for me to refer them to you. Support@solutionsbytj.com Support@solutionsbytj.com if you speak Spanish. Hit me. I got business for you. Good.
Yeah. All right. Y' all better get on that. Y' all better get on it. If you're a translator, get on that directory. That's. I say, I got a space for translators.
Yeah, absolutely. Because people think that you can do even general notary work. I don't know about everybody else in Texas. You cannot get on Google Translate.
With somebody in Spanish. You have to speak Spanish. Have to be a. That has to be your native language for you to notarize a document for that person.
Right.
That can't be their friend translating, their child translating. It has to be. You have to fully understand what they are saying, period. So, I mean, it's an interesting dynamic. Very, very interesting. All right, ladies and gentlemen. So we've been on here for what, an hour and 13 minutes? I love y' all to life. I'm gonna call this thing to an end if you have not gotten that Google Ads training. It's good.
Okay?
And it ain't over yet because we Are making sure we put this up just to say, oh, here it is, and then leave. You know, I don't do that. But at Apostille Training, how many trainers did we have? You came once. We had 5, 4, 5 hour Q& A's after that.
Wow.
Just staying up. Anything you. What questions you have next month? What questions do you have next month? What questions do you have?
Wow.
Yeah. I'm gonna follow through. I'm gonna make sure that you got it. If you don't have it, it's your fault.
Right?
Yeah. So we'll be there helping you run the ads, making sure that you're successful, showing you how to. You know one thing about ads, sometimes it could be something as small as a color, a house, a word. You just switch them up, see which ones work, Start testing it a little bit. Grab one. When you find that one that works, that's the one you stick with, right? Yeah. Yep, yep, yep. So I'm excited about it. I'm excited about all of this stuff. It is amazing, man. God is good. This is our year. I'm gonna have to get on the phone with you because I really do. I listen, I gotta get my schedule stuff together.
I don't know why.
I'm not good at that. And I have stuff in my phone. Why don't I stand up? I'm gonna try it on my own tomorrow.
Okay.
And then I'm let you look at it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I got. Yep. Write it down. Write your. Your daily task list. I got different alarms in my phone. Always. It's always something going off and I make it where it's loud and irritating and it says what it is. It's not just saying alarm. It says something like, take a breather. Go tell yourself that you are amazing person. All those mode. I put positive things inside of me because you have to be your biggest motivator. Ain't nobody gonna motivate you like you.
Absolutely.
And sometimes we get wrapped up in everything that we're doing. We lose sight of that. So I have to get up, say some five affirmations, go walk around, say five affirmations. I got a balcony and I have even. No matter how cold it is, go outside and just take a deep breath and be grateful for the air that you can breathe. And then it. And it helps because then I come back inside and okay, who I'm ready to go again for another hour and a half.
And see, I think with mine, what stops. You know, my to do list don't never stop.
Oh, yeah. No, it don't stop.
It makes me nervous to look at how much I still gotta do. Like every day is some more to do.
Yeah, yeah, like that. But if you just get those five things done for today, if we talk about right now and today and even though you might be like, well, I need to do all of them today, that's impossible.
Impossible.
So just pick five.
Yeah.
And work on those. Because you still had all those other things to do. You still. Your list is always growing. My list is forever growing. Like even sitting here right now, I can tell you I've thought of seven different things that I did not do today. But they weren't on the list. They weren't on the list.
And I just got to put them in for. And I already know tomorrow I work from 7am to 7pm So I already know I'm not doing anything business tomorrow. But I have my list ready for Tuesday and the rest of the week moving forward. Even though I work night shift, Tuesday and Wednesday, I'm working 11pm to 7am because I'm crazy. But I can bring my computer and I get a lot of things done in the midst of the night. So I'll write down for Tuesday during the day, I may have four things that I'm going to do. And then at Tuesday during the night, I got four more things that I can do. So now already from Sunday to Wednesday morning, that list that was of 75 for the week is now at 60. And we only really two days into the week.
Gotcha.
So if I can just stay steady. Five more things on Wednesday during the day. Five more things on Wednesday during the night because you work. But then I know on Thursday I gotta rest because I'm traveling for the speaking engagement. We got a Virginia notary meetup group and I'm speaking there this weekend. So I know on Thursday Shawans is whose event it is. So I gotta rest on Thursday. But on Friday I got two weddings before I get on the road, so I got to make sure all of that is done. And then I know once I check into my hotel, I can't go hanging out playing with y' all because I still got work to do. Let me.
So let me. So, so let me ask you this. What's the difference between a wedding coordinator and a wedding planner?
A wedding planner kind of is more hands on. So my coordination is just really on the phone. The wedding planner might be planning out what's going to happen at your wedding. I'm not planning out what's going happen. You have that or either you have a wedding planner. So, like, I'm doing a day of coordination. When do I do? I do one in May, and it's at Botanical Gardens. And so what I'm doing is I'm coordinating the day so that bride doesn't have to worry for that day. She's already sent me all the information of who the caterer is or if she needed a vendor, I've given it to her already. And on that day, I'm going to make sure her guests are seated. Well, my assistant is, because I'm officiating the wedding as well. We're going to make sure that her guests are seated, that the photographer is there to take the pictures as they enter in. And I'm not even doing their reception. I'm just doing the day of coordinating for their wedding. So once. Now I've already got all the vendors in order on that day. My. The one assistant will just make sure the guests are being seated where they need to be seated, that the wedding starts on time, that I have everything that I need, and that the people can ride the little trolley back. Because I'm not sure if you have a Botanical gardens, but it's huge. And it's just a bunch of gardens and flowers, and they have to ride a trolley back, and they're going to make sure that they're on the trolley, getting that back, and then, boom, we're.
Out of there cold.
Like, it's gonna take me, what, 15 minutes to officiate the wedding. It might take us 30 minutes to get the guests there and 30 minutes to get the guests back. I think their wedding is a wedding of 20. When I did. I did a wedding at that same location earlier in the year, and it probably took. It was so smooth and easy going. It probably took us an hour and a half. Walked away with 600 bucks.
So is it less expensive for them? Like, they don't have to think of it. Is it less expensive for them to hire you than to hire an actual.
Wedding planner, give or take how big their wedding is. If it was like a big wedding, like Ashley's wedding, which was 208 people and she had, like, room blocks and stuff, you want a wedding planner, but for normally a simple wedding, say, a hundred people or less, that, you know, you already have a venue and whatnot, a day of coordinator should work. Cool.
We didn't learn something. Y' all see, Boy, we constantly learn.
Yeah.
