In this bonus episode of the Align Leader Podcast, host Sylvie Crosslard continues her 5‑week "Let There Be Light" series with a devotional titled "No Dead Lamp in Jesus’s Book." After a brief opening prayer and promotional plug for her free "Crowned" devotional and paid journals, she explores the biblical theme that believers, once dead in sin, are made alive in Christ and called to be living lamps. Using Ephesians 2:5 as the anchor, she explains the Greek concept of sin (paraptoma) as a sideslip that derails a person’s authority and identity. She then moves to Genesis 1:26‑27 to affirm that humanity is created in God’s image with inherent authority, and to John 8:12, Matthew 5:14‑15, and Isaiah 60:1‑3 to illustrate the metaphor of light and lamps. Sylvie emphasizes that the Holy Spirit gives believers an internal “electricity generator”—resurrection power—that enables them to shine in a broken world, bringing peace, joy, and transformation to others. The episode concludes with a heartfelt invitation to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, a closing prayer, and a final call to subscribe, like, and share the podcast.

Let's begin with prayer. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your Holy Spirit far on this broadcast. Thank you, Jesus, for your your presence in this broadcast. This um this kabad on your broadcast. Oh, شايار ربي. Touch our hearts, Lord. Touch our minds. Touch our souls, convict us wherever we need to be convicted, Lord Jesus, and bring us to the place where you want to meet with us. In Jesus' name, amen. Our topic today is No Dead Lamb in Jesus' Book, and the supporting verse for this is Ephesians 2: 5. From the Amplified: Even when we were dead and separated from him because of our sins, he made us alive together with Christ. So, um, at the time when Paul is writing this batch of letters, he's jailed and still wants to encourage the churches he's praying for in Ephesus. For starters, jealous got no hold on his peace and joy because he's overflowing. Has so much in him that he wants to share that in his letters to encourage people. Let's look at the Greek for sin. The the Greek for sin is paraptoma, sideslip. In the KJV, that means trespass. If you slip up, you end up not only in the wrong place, like on the floor instead of standing firmly, and wrongly positioned, you're vulnerable and you might have got hurt yourself or injured in the process. Sin derails us from our place of having victory and being firmly footed, our place of authority, to reducing us to being in a place where we need someone to help us back. Back up, to get a firm hold of us, to reposition us, and to give us a firm stand, authority back. There's more to this. We know that the devil takes away our footing to not just create damage but also death. However, that's not what we've been built for. Therefore, we're built in a special way. We're built God's way, and salvation, redemption reminds us of that. It restores us in our pride, Possession, fullness of health, identity through grace, and there's nothing to do, no hoops to jump through. Let's go to Genesis 1:26-27 in the Amplified. Then God said, let us make man in our own image, according to our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image and likeness of God he created him, male and female he created them. As we were created in the image of God, we carry some of God in us, in our gut area and in our DNA. We're his children, his creation, but he's made us to be Christ-like, and Jesus Christ is the light of the world. Keep tracking with me. We're going to John 8:12. So Jesus is the light of the world. Once more, Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I'm the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness but will have the light of life. That makes us lamps, and the job of a lamp is to light up a place. That's its purpose. And our God-given purpose is to bring the gifts and talents, um, and that redeemed Personally to people where God has placed us. Let's go to Matthew 5:15. Nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Isaiah 60:1-3 goes, Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you. The devil's strategy to close, close our eyes Lazarus's light's out, but Jesus called his light back, and Lazarus got resurrected because the glory that was in him recognized the voice of the King of Glory. He got put back, back through resurrection virtue. A greater purpose is not just to display the peace, the joy, and all that dwelling— that, that in all that dwelling in the presence of God does. It's To be the change agents because our gut is where the resurrection power and the glory live in us. We're to bring that to, to a world that is still in sin, broken, hurt, dead for some parts. We are powered up internally and externally. We carry our own electricity generators inside of us. Paul did just that when he wrote To encourage others despite where he was. His external circumstances couldn't put out the glory that was in him. He radiated geographically because he was overflowing with it. Matthew 5:14 goes, you are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. And Revelation 21:23 goes, and the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the glory of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp. And light. We've been created to live to the fullness of our God-given identity, lit up and bringing light and life wherever we've been placed. Peace and joy are as contagious as any other evil thing. Jesus has designed us to be everlasting lights, strong and healthy emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially, so that we can share all that around us to be world changers, to bring those qualities, those assets to others. So they will say, I want what she's got, I want what he's got, that glow. Just like I did once about my pastor and his wife. I thought, I want that glow too. I want to be radiant. I want to radiate to others. No one It's meant to be depressed, put down, spoken down, lied to, defrauded, robbed of health, or anything else, but to be strong, healthy, and upright. Yes, pray. Lord Jesus, today with our mouths we, we declare that you are Lord. And we believe in our hearts that God raised us from the dead. We come to you just as we are, asking you to save us, forgive us, and make us our own. From this moment, we choose to follow you as our Lord and Savior. Amen. If you want to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, just say so now. In Jesus' mighty name. Fresh fire baptism over you, in Jesus' mighty name.
