The Art of Crypto lost 20 of his first 25 trades but stayed up $3,500 on a $50,000 account by risking only 0.5-1% per trade. He argues win rate is meaningless compared to risk-to-reward ratio, and a 2.5:1 payoff on 50% wins covers losses from long streaks.

What's good? So I'm currently losing 70% of all the trades that I take on this account, and yet I'm still making money. In fact, I'm up about $3,500 just on this one single $50,000 account. And in this video, I'm going to break down exactly why your win rate matters a lot less than you think and what does matter instead, because if it's not win rate, then it's got to be something else. Besides that, I'm also going to talk through how I dealt with like a losing streak of where in the first 25 trades that I took on this account, I basically lost 20 of them and only won 5. And this is something that's pretty tough for the average trader to deal with because Well, who's able to handle like a 20 losing streak, right? And so I'm going to teach you how to remain confident in your abilities as a trader, how to continue to trust the system when you go through a losing streak. And most importantly, we're going to get into it right now. But yeah, with all that said, let's dive right into it. So just to, you know, bring up the, you know, what I was talking about, as you can see over here, I have a 31% win ratio on this account. And so far, just on this week alone, actually, I was up, you know, I started the week at What is this, $50,000? No, not even. So I started this week at $49,000 on the account and I'm ending the week at $52,500. Now this could have been a lot more. I'm going to talk about that later on. But like the main thing to understand here is like, yeah, it's a horrible win ratio, right? And just to show you some of the trades that I've been taking on, you know, this account. Now if I take a look at the history of the account, as you can see right here, especially close to the start of this account, like this was pretty rough, right? This is literally the first 10 to 11 trades were all complete losses. In fact, the first— how many trades is this, like 20 trades? Yeah, amongst the first 20 trades, I basically only won 2 trades, right? And this is really rough to, you know, deal with. And this brings me on to the first thing that I do want to talk about, which is risk management, right? Because if you take a look at the amount of wins and losses that I've had, even though I went through a lot of losses, my account never once went under, like, basically 2— if my starting capital was $50K, my account at its lowest point was at $48.7K, right? And this was after going through a huge load of losses. So this brings me on to kind of like the first lesson, which is as long as you manage your risk, the worst that can happen is that you lose 0.5 to 1% of your account on that trade. And the reason why I bring this up is because, you know, people tend to get affected by, you know, individual losses, especially if they go through kind of like a big losing streak. It's like, oh man, I lost all of these trades, or like, oh, I put in so much time into trading, but you know, all I got was red days. But the truth is, the moment you're able to kind of start thinking about your trading in a way where, okay, what's the worst that can happen? I lose 1%. Or in my case, I was going half risk on the majority of the trades. As you can see here, minus $240, minus $300, minus $250, minus $260. Like this is a $50K account, so I was going half risk on the majority of these losses. And like, what's the worst that can happen? If the trade loses, I lose half a percent. If I lose 10 trades in a row, which happened, then I lose about 5% of the account. Is that a lot in the grand scheme of things? Absolutely not. And once you're able to start reframing your mind away from, oh man, you know, it's like hundreds and hundreds of dollars, to I'm losing half a percent. I'm losing 1% if I happen to lose, then the game starts to change, right? And no longer feels like every loss is big. It does not, no, like it no longer feels that significant. And most importantly, it's a lot easier for you to not get personal about, you know, these losses that you're incurring. Which leads me onto the second thing, which is, you know, losing streaks. Losing streaks are a very natural part of the process of trading. In fact, you know, I'm sure you've heard people talk about this before. You know, if you have winning streaks, then you're going to have losing streaks. That is true. I have been doing this for the past, you know, 6 years at this point, and I have been publicly documenting, you know, every single trading day on social media, here on YouTube, here on X. The reason why I bring that up is because even though I have a pretty decent win rate on, you know, the publicly called BTC trades, I am still running into losing streaks, as you can see with this account right here. First 20 trades, even heck, first 30 trades were, you know, pretty rough, and the majority of them were losses. And it's not only until, you know, recently in the last kind of like 10, 15 trades where I started getting some, you know, very, very nice wins. And so the thing that I'm trying to, you know, kind of get to is that it doesn't matter how good you are in trading, it doesn't matter how, you know, good your system is, regardless of how high your win rate is, you are going to go through losing streaks. It's just a natural part of the process. But, and here's a, you know, kind of concept that I would like to share that will kind of better illustrate this for you. Imagine that your system has like a 50% win rate, right? So you win 50 trades. So out of like 100 trades, you're gonna win 50 trades and you're gonna lose 50 trades. Now, one of the things that people have a hard time understanding is that you cannot control when these cluster of wins or when these cluster of losses are going to come. For all I know, even though this is very unlikely, you know, you could have the first 50 trades be all straight 50 losses and then the rest of the 50 trades later could be all wins. But, and while that may be very unlikely, it is possible. But what's important to understand is you can't control this. And the only thing that you can really do is to control it, right? The process. And the only thing that you can really control is to make sure that you're continuing to execute the system over time, even if you're going through losing streaks, because you trust that the system will help you get profitable eventually, right? And that leads me on to the third thing that I really wanted to share with this. One of the reasons why I was able to overcome this losing streak and to, you know, continue having confidence in, you know, my trading and in my system is because I have data and I have basically hundreds and hundreds of trades worth of data throughout the last, you know, 3, 4, 5, 6 years where I can know exactly, okay, I have roughly a 50% win rate with about a 2.5:1 risk-reward ratio. And I know as long as I continue to trade the system the way it's supposed to be, I will in the long run make more money than then I lose. That's guaranteed because the math adds up. And this is not based on like some 50 trade sample size or like just a couple months or couple weeks worth of data. This is years and years of data. I trust that my system is profitable. And because I have this data, regardless of what I go through, all I tell myself is, dude, my system works. All I have to do is continue trading it regardless of how I might be feeling or regardless of if I'm going through these losing streaks. Like I just continue trading it so that Eventually, like, because I continued trading the system, well, guess what? Market conditions got better and boom, right? In a single week, I managed to kind of like recover 30 losses worth of, you know, like losses. And heck, not just recover, but I even made more than I lost. So this kind of also proves the point as well. Now, if you are struggling with both of these problems and you would just like to get the solution to them, snap, magically, just like that, feel free to check out Blueprint. This is essentially my full trading system, not only the technical analysis side, but also a lot of this, you know, kind of mindset and systems that helps you execute execute at a high level on a day-to-day basis over the long run. Because we all know that, you know, at the end of the day, you could learn as much technical analysis concepts as you want, that's not going to be the reason why you suddenly get profitable. It's all about, you know, psychology, it's all about execution. And that's something that Blueprint touches on that a lot of programs do not. I won't talk about this too, too much, but it is for you if you don't have a system yet, or if you don't know your system is profitable, because you can just use mine. I've been publicly documenting my trades throughout the whole of 2025 and even into 2026. So far, I've got about an 80% win rate on just Bitcoin alone. And obviously, This has generated more than $5 million worth of funding capital for, you know, people inside Blueprint. People have also gotten more than, you know, 6, close to 7 figures worth of payouts so far. And people have already used this system to generate more like multi-six figures worth of payouts from just their funding accounts alone. But all you need to understand is that this is something that works and check it out if you want. But otherwise, let's get back to the video, which leads me on to kind of like the next thing that I wanted to talk about, right? So far, we've touched on the fact that losing streaks are perfectly normal. You cannot control when, you know, the losing or winning streaks will come. What's the worst that can happen, right? The most you will lose is 0.5 to 1% of your account. And then lastly, having a profitable system that you can trust based on the data is basically paramount to making, like, to solving most of your trading problems. Finally, I'm going to talk about the last one, which is, you know, earlier on in the, like, at the start of the video, I did talk about how when it comes to trading, win rate is one of the least important factors when it comes to actually making money from trading. And now we're gonna get into that. So first thing to understand is when it comes to trading, This is a really tough concept to get, you know, kind of wrap your mind around, but you don't need to be right in order to make money. There are plenty of cases where, you know, I make this kind of analysis and I think that, okay, Bitcoin's going to go this way, but it doesn't. And that, like, because once it broke down, there was a list of kind of like criteria and there was a list of steps that kind of matched my system. And so I took the trade, and even though my analysis saying that Bitcoin was going to go up was wrong, I still ended up making money on that trade because I went short because, you know, That's where my system came in, right? So it's a really tough thing to understand, but just know that while win rate can be really appealing because, well, if you have a 70 to 80% win rate, you can kind of tell that to people like, hey bro, I've got a 70 to 80% win rate. Like I'm pretty good at trading. Or even it just makes you feel good about yourself because, well, yeah, you know, if you win more trades than you lose, obviously it's much better for the psychology rather than, you know, having to go through something like this where most people would kind of panic. But like, while that may be appealing on the surface, it's a bit of a vanity metric. Because the real thing that matters is your risk-to-reward ratio. For example, even with a 30%, like even though I am losing 70% of my trades, because my average win is 3 times larger than my average loss, like it only takes a couple of wins for me to recover days or potentially even weeks worth of losses, right? Just to show you an example here, this is a series of 3 trades in a row where I lost and I made it all back in a single trade and more, right? I lost $500 on these 3 losses. With one trade, I made $700 back. Just to give you another example, this was a series of trades. Like again, this was like what, 3 losses, 4 losses in this 5-trade like kind of span. And I basically made it all back in a single trade, right? One winning trade covers for 4 losses. And just simply knowing that, you know, you can take on these losses, you are able to go through these losing streaks because all you need is one solid trade to make it all back. Like that just gives you a whole different level of confidence that, you know, you otherwise wouldn't have. Now, would this system, like would I be making a lot more money if, you know, I had the same amount of profitability but a higher win rate? Absolutely. But at the end of the day, like, it's again, this is only a very small trade sample size. Like I've only taken 40 trades on this account and like my rough averages is usually around 50%. Based on what I told you just now, it's like in a, like let's say you have a 100 trade, you know, kind of sample size. I cannot control the fact that, you know, in these like 40 trades that I've taken, like 30 of them have been losses, right? For all I know in the next 40 trade, you know, kind of in the next 40 trades that I take, I could win 30 trades and lose only 10, right? I don't know that, and I'm not going to try to control that either. Now, what I will control is to just continue executing the system the way that I have been, so that, you know, regardless of if I win or lose, I just know that I'm just consistently on a path. Like, in terms of a long-term trajectory, I'm just going to continue to make money. And now we go into the final thing that I wanted to share in regards to this video, which is when you go through losses, like, one of the things that I did here was I went back and reflected on those losses, were they a result of me? Like where I'm basically breaking my own rules, where I am falling prey to FOMO, whether I'm revenge trading or just basically trading when I'm not supposed to trade, right? Is that a me issue or is it more of a market conditions issue or is it potentially a systems issue? Well, I already know from data that my system is not broken. My system's great actually. It's super profitable and everyone who's used it has basically came to the same conclusion. This is a profitable system. So I already know that the system's like, there's just no problem there. And the only way I know that is because I have data. Data again is king. If you don't have that, it's really tough for you to just become profitable in the first place because, well, yeah, that's kind of the backbone of everything. So with that removed, then there are only two potential factors here. One is that the market conditions are not like for this maybe stretch of time here, the market conditions are just not well suited to the system that I'm using, right? For example, my system is a trend trading system. It basically thrives when the market is moving in a certain direction and it's actually moving instead of ranging. So is it maybe that, you know, throughout this entire period here, the market was just kind of ranging and so, like, you know, the conditions are just not right for my system, or is it a me issue, right? And once I kind of figured that out, and once I kind of looked back at the data, I figured out that it's kind of a combination of both, but it was more of a me issue because at the start of, like, when I first started this account, I was, you know, testing a different model. And basically I was just, you know, being flexible with the rules, right? But essentially I was breaking my own rules. The moment I kind of caught myself doing that and I brought it back, all right, let's take a deep breath. Like, if I continue on this path that I'm going down, I'm probably going to blow this account. Let's bring it back and let's start executing the system properly again and boom, So that's the result of the last week. It also helps that like this literally last week was when I finally was able to kind of settle down in this house instead of like moving around and traveling around Korea. So it helped as well, just a little sense of routine. But hopefully these kind of like 5 key lessons that I've shared throughout this video was of help to you. And just remember, like if you'd like to go from where you are right now to just getting funded in the next 90 days, Blueprint is one of your best solutions to achieving that. Feel free to check it out. Feel free to not check it out. But either way, I'll see you guys in the next one. Ciao ciao.
