Exciting to move our bodies again. For some of us, we're on the second week of lockdown. For some of us, we've been on lockdown for like a week or even shorter. So I don't know how long you've been in lockdown. For some of us, it's longer. For some of us, it's shorter. And we just got that whole new 30 days more. So go us. So let's move our body. Let's move some of the whatever is happening in your world through your body. So if you're in a chair, I ask that you remove the chair, push it off to the side, and just start getting your body ready for some warm-up. Nice. Take your arms back. I've been doing these videos, uh, I actually started doing videos on the 20th of March, so I guess what, oh, 10 days. Nice, take your arm across your body. Nice and easy, nice and easy. Nice, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach. And if you're looking for some good instructor music, we use things from Power Music. We use albums from Power Music. All right, now if you want to, You're going to take a punch across your body. The 2 hardest things to warm up anytime you do any movement, your brain and your back. So that's why a lot of times when I do these videos, I make sure we cross the midline of your body. It doesn't work your brain as much if you go straight out. If you cross the midline, it actually starts to activate different circuits. We like that. All right, now if you do happen to have a chair near you, we're gonna do my least favorite exercise, but one that's so good for us. We're gonna do some lunges. Who doesn't love a lunge? I know. All right, hold your guarding stance. Up and down squat. And your knees can face forward, but most of our hips are not just forward, we have an angle, so your feet might be better served to go slightly out. That's okay too. It's gotta make sense for you. Now hold it down. Speed bag, yo! Good, and movement is all about breath in, And breath out. In with the good, out with whatever you don't want. 4, 3, 2, 1. Nice, bring it up. If you have a chair near you, great. If you don't, that's okay too. We're just gonna swing with a bent knee. This is great for your hip joints, also good for your booty and your back. 4, 3, 2, 1. Other side. Knee up, knee back. And honestly, any movement you can get in your day— walking is great. I happen to be doing a lot of online teaching and online work, so this is easier for me right now. 4, 3, 2, 1. Nice. Now little baby front kicks. How we do a front kick, you pick up your knee, you extend like you're kicking something gross off your toes. Taps. Now if you've already gotten your body warmed up and you've worked out today, boom, boom, boom. If you don't need the chair, you don't have to use it. 4 more, 3, 2, last one, nice. Next thing is a hip opener. 4, 3, 2, and 1. Now I said we were gonna do some of my favorite— least favorite, just kidding. So you're gonna take One leg in front. You want to make sure that you never go with your knee in front of your toes. Bringing it down. 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. And now you're gonna switch. Other leg in front, other leg behind. So when you lunge, this front knee stays behind your toes. Back knee goes down as low as you're comfortable going. I've seen people go all the way to the floor and up. I've seen people hold it here. 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Oh, I almost cheated myself there. Nice. All right, hip circles. Hopefully you've gotten your heart rate up a little bit. All I want— people's heart rates. Extend, switch the other direction. Extending your lungs, extending your life. All right, you're gonna step forward with one leg, open up your arms, stretch it out. Open up, stretch it out. Other leg forward. Nice. Go ahead and bring your arms back behind you, stretch your chest open. When we are stressed out, we tend to constrict. When we are, uh, feel safe, we tend to open. So go ahead and shake it out, shake it off. I hope that you got a little bit of something out of today. I hope you got a chance to move, to breathe. Bring that good air in and exhale whatever does not serve you anymore. The world is beautiful. Bring good air in and exhale whatever does not serve you. Thank you so much. I enjoy doing these. I hope that you get something out of them. This is kind of my way of giving back.
