No matter where you are in the world or what you choose to celebrate, December can be a time of holidays for majority of the world. And I want to talk to you about holiday boundaries that you might not even know that you need. First one is that you can say no. It feels like an obligation when everyone is asking you to do something, or there are parties, or there are dinners, or there are celebrations, and you are just not ready, or You are not in that space. You might feel overwhelmed. It is okay to say no. It's okay to pause and check in with yourself. Is this something that I truly want to do, or somewhere I want to be, or people I want to be with? And then you can make that choice. The next one I want you to think about is your energy is that strategy, and it's not an afterthought. So think before you go into an event, before you go into a party, before you go into a celebration, how is my energy? How am I feeling? Where am I feeling my energy? Am I off? Am I good? And check in with yourself before you say yes, and also even before you show up, check in with your energy. Not afterwards, like, that was miserable, I was exhausted, I was overwhelmed. Learn how to recognize these things as a strategy ahead of time. And the last one that I'm gonna suggest for you is regulate before we react. What does that even mean? Calm Yourself. Find a way to take a walk, take some deep breaths, do the 4-7-8 breathing technique. What is that? Breathe in for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8, and do that 4 times before you make a decision, or even before you go into an event that you think you might be a little overwhelmed or might have some triggering effects. All of these different cues can help you make the holidays what you want it to be. Really, it's about you creating what works for you. So these are ideas of holiday boundaries. Please share if you've got others.
