We get instruction manuals for toasters but not ourselves. One speaker argues for a personal operating manual documenting your sleep schedule, meal times, productivity rhythms, and social needs so you can work with your actual wiring instead of forcing yourself into a 9-to-5 mold.

You might think I'm crazy, and that's okay, but I want to throw an idea out at you. What if we had a humane operating system? What do I mean by that? Every piece of electronic equipment you buy comes with an instruction manual. It comes with an operating system. It comes with the explanation of how to make it work the best. And as human beings, we just got dropped off trying to figure it out. How, how do I operate best? And then we're told that to fit into different molds, the 9 to 6 mold, or you're a night owl, or you're a morning person, even if you're not an early bird. There are different aspects to each of us that may or may not work. What time is the first time that you like to eat your first meal? When do you like to eat your last meal? What time do you like to go to bed? How much social interaction do you need? The idea of an operating manual is something that I had created several years ago because no one understood how they can reach peak performance if they don't have a manual. Every person's manual is different. The amount of peopling that you like doing, or the amount of chilling that you need, or the amount of sleep that you like, what kinds of food serves you. All of these things are an important part of your operating manual. If you're interested and you want a copy of an operating manual and what could go into it and the different questions you can ask, comment or reach out and I will provide one for you.
