In this spoken‑word reflection, the speaker examines the cultural focus on February 14th (Valentine’s Day) and how it triggers both excitement and anxiety about love. They argue that love is not limited to romantic relationships or a single calendar date; instead, love is a guiding light that fuels personal passion, self‑growth, and meaningful connections. The talk encourages listeners to identify what they love—whether it’s activities, personal achievements, or qualities in others—and to actively share that love with partners, friends, and themselves. By following this inner “zing” of love, the speaker suggests we can experience a deeper, more authentic celebration of love every day, not just on Valentine’s Day.

What happens every February? You look at the calendar. February 15th? No, February 14th. That is a day that we all recognize as Valentine's Day. And if you're in a relationship, it means, oh my gosh, what are we gonna do? I've gotta do something special. I've gotta show this person that I love them. Or if you're not in a relationship, you might start thinking, well, where's my relationship? What am I gonna do? It's all about love. And sometimes it's about how do we show the people that we love that we love them? Or how do we deal with the fact that we don't have someone in our lives that We're partnered with. Both are pretty interesting because they're date, date related, right? They're date related. February 14th, not the 13th, not the 15th, just a random day in February, the 14th. Well, here's what I wanna talk to you about with love. Love is what we follow. Love is that light, that excitement, that thing that feels good. And if you're in a relationship with somebody, absolutely, you're in a relationship with them because at some point it felt really, really good. And that doesn't mean relationships don't have their ups and their downs and their ons and their offs. Just like the relationship with yourself. But truly, love begins here. So following what you love— what do you love to do? What do you love to see happening in your world? What do you love about the people in your life? If you're in a relationship, you get to share what you love about that other person with them. If you're not in a relationship, look at sharing your love not just with other people but with yourself. What do you love about what you've learned? What do you love about How you've grown? What do you love about what you've been able to do or accomplish? And follow that love. Follow that light. Follow what ah just gives you that zing in your heart. That is truly what the day of love is all about. It's not just being in a relationship. It's what do I love? Who do I love? How do I love? And being able to access that love with the others, both in your life and in yourself.
