In this segment of The Scary Guy Podcast, host The Scary Guy, guest Darriann Sykes, and a third speaker discuss the importance of truly hearing messages rather than ignoring them, emphasizing that one cannot force a message on someone who isn’t ready but can plant a seed for future receptivity. Speaker C shares an affirmation seen on social media that encapsulates this idea. Darriann reflects on her personal journey, noting how lessons she received at age 14 resurfaced at 26, weaving together various mindset teachings into a cohesive creative mindset. The conversation highlights the interplay between personal growth, the power of affirmations, and the responsibility to stay open to messages, even when they arrive through everyday habits like checking social media.

You can listen and you can process these words, but you do not have to take them on as your own. You can't ignore it. Don't ignore it. Do not ignore what they are saying to you because it's impossible and you're fighting a losing battle if you do ignore this. You remember that.
Yeah, we remember that. You remember that. Never ignore anything thing. I want you to see everything for what it really is.
Do you know what? When I got up this morning and I did that weird habit thing that everyone does now is the first thing you do is to check your social media feed. Yeah, someone had posted an affirmation and it's so apt to what we've been talking about. The affirmation was, we cannot force someone to hear a message they are not ready to receive, but we must never underestimate the power of planting a seed.
I've got goosebumps.
That's exactly what's happened with you. That is so cool, and I just am so honored that you reached out. Thank you for being who you are.
No, thank you, honestly. Yeah, it's, it's been a crazy ride, and it just all— until you sit and think about it, like, holy— it just all links back to back to being 14, and you tried to give me a message at 14 that I've now taken on at 26, that everything interlinks. And okay, I listen to a lot of audibles on all these different people of how to change your mindset, and it's just— I've learned all this stuff, and I sit there and think that you are teaching all of this as well. And it's amazing how it's all just formed into one big creative mind. Yours.
It's formed into your creative mind. That's what's beautiful.
And now I just need to burst out and get it out there to everybody.
