I'm Travia Steward and I want to help you move past barriers and obstacles that are preventing you from getting what you want in life. This is Breakthrough. Peeps, happy— I was about to say Happy New Year, but happy, I guess, belated Merry Christmas. How about that? Today is December 26th. And I hope those of you who celebrate Christmas had a wonderful time, or I want to just share happy holidays for those of you who do not celebrate Christmas. So what I want to talk about today is, this is going to be a pretty short episode because we've already laid the groundwork for what we want to see, well, what we want to release. So 2 episodes ago, we talked about, are you happy with your 2023? Then last week we talked about how do we release this baggage that we do not want to carry into 2024, because we don't want to keep carrying the same baggage, the same trash, the same extra weight that, you know, is weighing us down, that's carrying problems from one relationship to the other, from one job to the other, from one person to the other. So I hope you were able to do the cer— the releasing ceremony. With the fire so that we can leave this junk in this year. And what I want to talk about today is I want to talk about 2024. Today is December 26th, and one week from today we're going to be ringing in a new year. And most of the time when people set New Year's resolutions, they set resolutions thinking, okay, what didn't I accomplish? I really want to be at this kind of, this certain weight. And because I want to be at this weight, that's what my goal is going to be. As a matter of fact, I just got off the phone with one of my friends who wanted to do, hey, let's do 75 Hard in January. So generally we tend to set goals, and that's including myself before I started coaching, set goals according to things we didn't accomplish instead of this other way. That I'm going to talk about. And, you know, I talked about this a little bit last year because I'm a firm believer in not necessarily setting, you know, SMART goals. When I was a high school teacher, we set SMART goals that were specific. They were measurable. They were achievable. Well, they had to be achievable. They had to be relevant and then time-bound. Well, that's not the type of goal I'm going to ask you to set today. I'm not going to ask you to set any of those types of goals. But what I want you to think about is, does your life inspire you? Does it inspire you today? Like when you look around, when you get up, you know, on a Tuesday, on a Monday, on a Friday, are you excited about your lunch— about your life, not your lunch. Are you excited about your life? You know, or does it feel, you know, like you're going through the motions, like it's Groundhog Day? Does it feel boring or just flat? You know, does it feel like, again, like you're doing the same things over and over and over again, year in and year out, with nothing to really fire you up about? Because I believe that we all have so much potential inside of us, but sometimes we don't spend enough time thinking about our future. We spend time thinking about all the things that happened in the past, things that we regret, things that we wish we could have a do-over. When we can't do anything about that. So today it's about spending time thinking about our future because we no longer want to— we no longer want to focus on what's not working. We want to focus on what do we want our future to evolve into. So we want to put the energy into our futures so that we can create from it. We want to create from the future. So I want you to think about, you know, usually when it's time to think about, you know, setting these goals, having resolutions, we think about, oh, I want to earn a certain amount of money. I want to make a career change. You know, one of the main things is, you know, most people are like, I'm going to hit the gym on January 1st. And again, like mid-February, half the gym, you know, people are gone because they've already fallen off the wagon. So what I want you to do is I want you to think about how you want to feel. I believe that when you set a goal, when you try to accomplish something and you have an emotional reason to make that change, something that, you know, gives you the chills, something that makes you feel emotional, like you can feel it in your gut, you can feel it, oh my God, like I choke up. When I think about, you know, continuing this work as a coach, because I know it's life-changing. I've changed, you know, my clients have changed their lives, you know, for the better. And so what I'm asking you to do is not just being interested in making changes, but being committed to creating the life that you really want. And so last year, so one of the things that I do is I choose 3 words. Instead of goals, I choose 3 words. That's what I want you to do. I want you to think about how is it that I wanna feel in 2024. So last year, my 3 were, I wanted to feel secure. The security came from, I wanted to feel secure as a life coach that I could actually make a living with this. I wanted to feel secure that what I was doing was working. And then I also wanted to feel exhilarated. There were certain things that I knew that I was going to take part in that would, would give me that exhilaration feeling. And then I wanted to feel desired. I wanted to feel, you know, in demand by my clients. I wanted to feel in, you know, desired by my partner. And so what I want you to do is I want you to think about 3 different feelings, because that's what it's about. And once you have your feelings, you write those down. So then when it comes down to, like, for instance, last year mine was secure. Now we go, okay, what is the thing that I'm going to do that's gonna help me feel secure? You know, if you're a coach, if you are someone like in like financial planning or something like that, maybe you have, you know, SOPs, standard operating procedures that you're going to put in place. Maybe you're gonna feel secure because you're gonna play the stock market because you're gonna be earning and bringing more money in. Maybe you're gonna feel more secure because you're gonna switch jobs. You're gonna have a career change. And if you're like me, when you're going to feeling exhilarated, when I feel exhilarated, it's usually because when I'm standing up and speaking for an audience, oh man, that feeling of exhilaration is, I can't compare it to anything else. I also feel exhilarated when I am heading to vacation, a challenge, or a race. And then when it comes down to, you know, something like feeling desired, maybe that's in a relationship, maybe that's, I wanna feel desired, so I am going to think about how I dress in my relationship, how I dress, you know, when I go out in public, you know, whatever that thing looks like. So that's what I want you to do instead of jumping to, I wanna make more money, I wanna write a book, I'm gonna do this experience, I wanna travel more, I wanna buy my dream home. I want you to think about how you wanna feel, how you wanna feel. Have 3 different words that basically summarize how you wanna feel in all of 2024. And then take each word and under the word, you know, make a subcategory. What are the things that I'm going to do so that I experience this feeling? Who do I need to be so that I do this thing that's gonna help me feel secure? So that I do this thing that's gonna help me feel exhilarated? So that I do this thing that's gonna help me feel desired. And again, when we attach emotions to the things that we want in life, it gives us a reason to really make a change. We attach our heart to it, we attach our feelings to it. And again, because I don't want you to be interested in having a, having a better life in 2024, I want you to be committed to it. I want you to be committed to who it is you wanna be so that you create. We're not going to just, you know, life is not just going to fall in our laps. We're going to create. We want to create this, okay? And so that's the thing that I want you to think about, because I don't want you to think about when you waiting until you hit rock bottom to finally make changes. We want to begin intentionally creating the life, creating who we need to be in order to have the things that we want to have. And so again, we've released all the things we wanted to release from 2023. We've done the reflection. Now I want you to invest in yourself, not just in a financial decision, but in a commitment to create the life you've always dreamed of. This is a declaration that I believe in. I believe that we have the power and the potential And if we are willing to commit to it and pursue it with passion and determination, we can create what it is that we want, especially with consistency. And so I want you to think about those 3 words and let those words fire you up every single day. My friends, my peeps, the future is yours for the taking. We're not gonna allow the reflection of the past to serve as motivation or direction for what needs to be done going forward. 2024. Could be your year of radical change. Let's say 2024 is your year of radical change for you and for your loved ones and for the life that you are creating, beginning to create. So with clarity and direction, I want you to go after these 3 feelings and doing what it is that's going to create these things in your life. This is, this is setting up a vision for your future. This is providing you with a plan, right? And so when we throw it out there, we think about, you know, throwing it out there to the universe. We think about, you know, these things come to fruition because we speak it into existence. We talk about it to our loved ones. We talk about it over lunch to with so-and-so. The more you talk about it, the more you believe, the more you become. You know, we don't want to see things as they are. We want to see things as we want them to be. And that's where we want to live, seeing things where we— as we want them to be. And then you watch your future begin to create with consistency. And the big thing is with commitment. All right, my peeps, take care. I, again, I hope this work, this, these podcast episodes are giving you some value in your life. And then I'm going to be back next week as we bring in 2024 with a new episode, maybe a little bit of new branding. I'm not completely sure yet, but I am also going to be doing this work along with you, coming up with my 3 words. And generally out of those 3 words, I have my intent bracelets that I will do of each word. And then when I go, okay, I need to be reminded of this word, wear that bracelet, you know, that whole day, or maybe sometimes that whole week or month. So what will it be that is going to help you stick to it? My peeps, if you want some help with this, I would love— I, you know, again, I talked about in the last episode, I have 5 spots open for one-to-one coaching, and I would love to help you create what it is you want to create in 2024. Because yeah, you can do it by yourself, but with me, you'll do it faster and it'll be easier because we all need someone in our lives to help us see our blind spots, the things that we cannot see. Let me be that person for you. Let me be your coach. Let me help you create the life that you really wanna live in 2024. You can do that by clicking on the link in the show notes, you know, and, and I cannot wait to have a conversation. All right, my peeps, we'll talk next week.
