When was the last time you truly relaxed without distractions? When was the last time you actually unplugged? Because did you know unplugging and relaxing and resting is essential for your mental health? You see, I used to pride myself on being on, always being on, but I was wearing myself out. I was burning out. And then I realized, oh shit, I'm not giving myself any space to rest. Now what I do is I take time to truly unplug. I'm very intentional with time. Sometimes there are times when it's no phone, no email, it's just me. Maybe it's time where I reconnect with me through meditation. And it's amazing how much clarity comes when I allow myself to step away and even sit in silence. Rest is as important as the action that you're taking to create the life that you want, but we need it so we don't burn out. So what I want you to do is schedule time to unplug, whether it's just a few hours a day, or maybe it's a whole day. Maybe give yourself a whole spa day. Engage in activities that help you relax, like reading a book, taking a nap, taking a walk. Number 3, notice how much energized and focused you feel when you come back so that you want to repeat this more often.
