tree bathing for less stress, more energy, calm and creativity

Someone moved from a noisy airport area to a quiet stream and found their breathing deepened, their mind calmed, and creative ideas started flowing. Just watching the water let their mind settle enough to play and think differently.

Funny story, this area was chosen by me. I used to live next to an airport and all I could hear in the morning when I woke up was the sound of planes taking off and landing. And I could see the light pollution, and I made the connection that there must be some other pollution as well. My breathing was very shallow, and I remember thinking, I don't really have a place where I can go and be with nature. So that became my focus when I wanted to get better, and I came down here and I found this stream. Found this stream. This is a stream that I come to for reflection a lot, quite literally, you know, reflects my face and reflects everything, the light. Love reflections. And there's some really nice photos that I've taken down here. It tends to boost my creativity just being down here to come up with ideas. Um, it, I I don't— I come down here with problems, but I don't expect to solve them. Like, it's almost like I'm asking nature for an answer, and it doesn't immediately give me an answer. But what happens is my mind just settles, and I have a bit of fun, and I start to explore and tap into my adventurous side. And then before I know it, I might have come up with the answer, oh, I just don't care about the problem anymore. I'm just like, okay, fine. Whether just sitting quietly and looking at the water and the timelessness of the way that it flows and the abundance of the water, that is just more and more and more water, it's teaching me something behind the scenes about how my mind works. There's always another possibility, there's always another answer. And sometimes it's just a good idea not to ruminate on it, but actually just to play with it. And I think that's what nature reminds me of, is the adventurousness and the playfulness that we have, that we had as children, we still have as adults. It's a little bit contained, but it's still there. And it can come out in various different ways through our creativity. And that's what I love about the work that I do and the life that I lead now. There's a lot of creativity in it, and a lot of people that I'm around are creative as well. And that is a wonderful thing to share on this planet.
