In this promotional video, Tanner Smith argues that home‑service businesses should stop paying lead‑aggregator platforms such as Angie's, Thumbtack, and HomeAdvisor because they charge per lead and sell the same lead to multiple competitors, creating a race‑to‑the‑bottom bidding environment. He proposes an alternative: creating a personal video ad—featuring the business owner in front of their service truck—and running it on Meta (Facebook/Instagram). This approach delivers exclusive leads, eliminates competition for the same job, and gives the business full control over its lead pipeline. Smith backs his claim with a client case study covering April 1 – Oct 19 2026, showing $143,000 closed revenue, $199,000 in open revenue, 389,000 ad impressions, and only $14,988 spent on Meta ads. He concludes by urging viewers to abandon aggregator sites, invest in self‑generated leads, and follow his page for further strategies used with hundreds of clients and his own seven‑figure home‑service businesses.

Stop wasting your money on lead aggregator sites like Angie's, Thumbtack, HomeAdvisor. They're all a complete and total ripoff and I can show it to you and here's what to do instead. So this right here is a screenshot of Thumbtack right after a customer submits a job and you get charged for the lead. It says, share your project with a few more pros. It's better to have a few pros look into the job. Not only did you just get charged $20 for this lead that came through, but now they're gonna go charge 3 other home service businesses $20 to $30 for the exact same lead. What ends up happening is it becomes a complete and total bidding It's a race to the bottom. You have to have the fastest speed to lead, and ultimately you have a very low probability of actually closing this job now despite spending money on it. The better thing to do is to take that same $20, create an ad that is just you, your face, your video in front of your truck, run that ad on Meta, which will show that ad of just you in front of your entire market. When you generate the leads now, you're the only person that has the opportunity to close that job. You're not competing with anybody else. And this right here Right here is the real genius. Here's behind the scenes of a client account from April 1st to October 19th of this year. They've already closed $143,000 in revenue, but the beautiful thing is right here they have another $199,000 in open revenue that they're still working. Now how much money do you think we've actually spent to get $143,000 in one revenue plus potentially $200,000 in still open jobs? Just $14,988. You can see here, April 1st, 2026 until October 19th. We've also gotten 389,000 impressions in that same timeframe. A bunch of these eyeballs, people that are doing research, are seeing our ads, and all of this is not just profitable, we're actually getting all of this for free and then some. So please, stop spending money on these lead aggregator sites, learn how to actually invest in your own business and generate the lead yourself. When you do this, you'll never be beholden to any other platform. You'll be able to be completely in control of your business, and no one will be able to actually charge you $20 or $30 for a lead that they're also selling to 4 or 5 or 10 other businesses. Follow this page, and I'm gonna teach you more about these strategies that we're using right now with our hundreds of clients and our own 7-figure home service businesses.
