TT Does It All compares lace frontals, closures, and full wigs, explaining Swiss versus transparent lace and size measurements like 13x5 and 4x4. Her luxury line uses single-donor hair with more colors and durability, while her affordable line is multi-donor and works best kept in its natural curl pattern.

That was crooked all this time, and all this time—
dang. Look, can I fix myself?
Can I get—
we're gonna make this pretty shot the beginning of the video because all throughout the video I'm gonna look a hot mess and didn't even know it. You guys, if you've been wondering what is the difference between my affordable line and my luxury line, or you're wondering what kind of closure should I get, what's a lace frontal, what's a full lace wig, what's a lace closure, what's the difference? I am going to tell you. So I get this question all the time. What is the difference between a lace closure and a lace frontal? This is a lace frontal.
This is a lace closure, okay? You asked what the difference is.
Swiss lace versus transparent laces, and you can see the difference here. So you see that this one's darker— still not bad, but it's just darker— and this one's lighter.
To the touch, this one's thicker.
This one's a lot thinner, so that means that it's going to be really plush with the skin. This one is a lot thicker, So you will have to do a lot more customizing to make it look really, really plush with the skin. But if you're a good hairstylist like me, you can do both. Transparent lace is what we all have gotten used to because it makes the hairstylist's job a lot easier, but it doesn't have to be transparent lace to make it look beautiful. Which one is for you, right? That's the ultimate question. Frontals are a lot more maintenance. A lace frontal goes from here to here.
So it covers all the way across this.
So if you have a thin little spot right here like me, if you have no edges, if you sit around and look pretty all day, that's a frontal. Frontals are very high maintenance. You have to keep it tied down every night around the hairline. If you want to put a bonnet on top of your frontal, you can, but you have to put a scarf down first. You want to keep that hairline nice and flat. This frontal is a 13x5, whereas some are 13x4 and they're, they're shorter. So if you see, the hairline starts about right here, and then you see it's 5 inches back. So it goes from here all the way down to here. So you have that much parting space on your head, whereas once it gets smaller, you have less and less parting space.
So 13x2, no.
13x4, um, it's average, but it's okay. 13x5, the best. The advantages of a lace frontal is you can play with your length in the inside. You can go 16, 18, 20 with your sewing., and then a 14-inch frontal lace closures. If you get like a 4x4 or 5x5, they are glueless. You also do the frontal glueless, but the lace closures are easier as far as maintenance. Maintenance for a lace closure, you can come back in a month and there's no adhesive needed, um, there's no maintenance needed.. You do have to still tie it down, but you don't have to worry about baby hairs or stuff unless you want that look. The bigger closures like the 5x5, 5x6, 4x4, you can still make baby hairs on them, but it will require the maintenance unless you didn't want adhesive. My baby hair cream lets you get the same edge look without the adhesive, and it's really hard. You don't have to worry about waking up the next morning having to fix those baby hairs because you're not a hairstylist and you don't know what to do, right?
Right.
A full lace wig.
This has lace all the way around it.
Inside, there's no tracks, right?
No tracks, just combs and the band.
With a full lace wig, it's lace all the way around to the back of your head.
Right?
So with some installations, you can wear the lace all the way up. With some installations, you still have that band back there, so you just kind of want to wear a loose ponytail maybe, or keep it down. The advantages of a full lace is that you can part all the way back if you want to. You can also wear a full lace wig into a half up, half down. And if you have a big enough lace frontal, you can do the same thing. What is— and a lot of people have this question— my luxury line and my affordable line, what's the difference, right? The difference is that my luxury line is from a single donor. Whatever piece you get is from a single donor. With the affordable line, it's from multiple donors. So with the luxury line, color it as bright as you want to. You can get a platinum blonde, you can do grays, reds, blues, you can do everything with the luxury line.
I look this way. Very nice.
Now if I look that way.
Very nice. With the affordable line, this is about as bright as you're gonna get your color. So if you're trying to go to a super, super, super bright color, it's not really attainable. The affordable line is for those looking for the same fabulous look, but maybe they're not looking to wear it as long as people who want the luxury hair. So if this is something like, hey, I have my anniversary next month and I kind of want something different, if you don't know you're going to stick with it, you might want to try the affordable line, right? Another thing is, if you get a texture for the luxury line and you can straighten it and you can wet it and it'll go back. With the affordable line, I suggest keeping it in its natural state. Now, I have had people straighten it and it turned out beautiful. I just don't recommend it for longevity of it, for it to keep its natural curl pattern, which is the curly wave or the loose deep wave or the water wave. I suggest keeping it in its natural state. Okay, with the affordable line, you You also don't have to worry about shedding. So don't think because it's affordable it's going to be matted like a bird's nest, it's going to be tangly and shedding. That's not the case. It's just the longevity of the wear and how it's made. Okay, a lot of my older clients ask what hair do I usually get. Um, I have always sold my luxury line. My luxury line was the line that was my favorite Brazilian deep wave, the straight hair, the loose wave hair. That's always been the luxury line. Now the affordable line are those newer textures like the water wave, the loose deep wave. Those are the more affordable collections. So the luxury line, if you're used to buying hair from me years before and you're like, where's that deep wave hair that I've straightened and got wet and wore in its natural state? That is the deep wave Luxe line. Okay, no, I have not been selling you guys the affordable hair for luxury prices all this time.
No. Water wave, curly wave, very close, but this is more of a spirally curl and this is a looser wave. So let's take one of those waves So you see how the curly wave on the end is just a little bit more spiral, right? And then the wavy is a straighter wavy end. So again, you see that curl at the end, or the water wave is a looser wave instead of curl. Curly, wavy. So wavy, curly, curly wave, water wave. So there's loose curly, which if you see at the ends it still has a curl, and then there's curly wave. So loose curly and curly. Curly is tighter. Loose curly, it's a little bit more loose. So loose curly, curly wave, and water wave. So the difference between loose curly and water wave is the water wave is more of left to right, left to right, and this is more spiral loose. Okay, so water wave, curly wave, spiral, left to right. And this is deep wave. You see the difference? The deep wave has a lot more of a definition wave to it. The curly wave is a solid wave pattern, solid all the way down to the tip. Deep wave in 6A and deep wave in the Luxury. They're both the same length, but as you see at the ends, this gets a little thinner and this stays nice and full. Ends are nice and full. Ends get a little bit thinner. So you see the difference at the end? See the difference? So luxury affordable.
