Hey everyone, thanks for checking out this video. If you are watching this, you're probably just one of those people who are like, TT, what's going on with you? It's been a while since you posted on your channel. And, uh, yeah, I've had a lot going on, as we all have, I'm assuming. So I did have surgery on my hand a week ago today. Today was the date that they said that I could remove the dressing. I'm about to tell you what happened with my hand, why I had surgery, um, yeah, and me rebandaging it. Um, so I had a small lump in my hand, literally right under my middle finger. When I kind of touched it, I noticed that it felt different, like there was something like a lump there. And I felt my other hand and I'm like, that's not there. And I'm feeling back and forth and I'm like, babe, feel this. He feels, he's like Okay, it feels like a callus. And I'm like, bro, that's not a callus. It's in my skin. It's not a callus. So I was like, I think it's like a cyst or something. Something's in my hand. So I'm feeling around. So I'm like, okay. So that night I put in a consultation for a doctor, a hand doctor. So went in for the appointment with the doctor. He feels it and he's like, yeah, it feels like a cyst. It feels like, you know, a little pocket of fluid. And he's like, I can go in with a syringe and I can extract the fluid or try to extract the fluid that way. I don't like needles. No. He's like, well, I can do the surgery on it to remove it while you're awake. No. Or we can put you all the way to sleep. Yes. Ding, ding, ding. Bell time. Yes. No, I'm not sitting awake while you open up my skin. No. Scheduled the surgery date, and I didn't tell a lot of people because I wasn't sure I was gonna actually go through with it because I was like, I can't work if there's something wrong with my hand. Um, what if something goes wrong and I'm permanently damaged to where I can't work with my hand? Like, is this really bad enough where I am going to have surgery on my hand?. So that was really the dilemma, and that's really why I didn't tell a lot of people or anybody for real. Fast forward to the week of the surgery, it starts getting a little painful. Just certain things like the shifting gears on my car, just putting my hand there kind of hurt. Depending on how I had to turn the steering wheel, it kind of hurt. Curling irons or flat irons were kind of starting to hurt. So there was just things that were irritating it that the closer I got to the surgery date, the more I realized it was causing a little bit of a nuisance. So I just decided to go ahead and have it done, um, that way it doesn't get worse, it doesn't get bigger, and it's taken care of. The entire time they're telling me the surgery is going to be, um, what did they say, it would, it would only impact me for like a couple days. You're only gonna have a couple days worth of pain, you'll be fine. Like, okay, cool. So working a week later won't be a problem because I'll be fine. Okay, I went in for the surgery and they're telling me take the dressing off and put a Band-Aid on it in exactly a week. I'm like, okay, cool. So it must be something really, really small. They said the incision would be small and minimal, everything. So I'm like, cool. I'll be able to put a Band-Aid on this and be cool. And I'm like thinking about the stitches, hoping they put maybe invisible stitches in it, you know, like, yeah, no. So we're gonna start the video, move me to the side, cut through it, it's over. So I'm cutting through and then I'm going to show you what it looked like. And then, um, I was honestly surprised. He said he was going to try to cut through the crease that's already like the fold there. He said he was gonna go through and, uh, try to follow that. But I did notice as time went by— I didn't notice this time went by, it felt like it started to kind of shift because at first it was right on the crease, but it kind of started to move down. So maybe that's why he had to do like a diagonal stitch. And then I noticed that these are not dissolvable stitches. So I do have a follow-up appointment in, uh, 5 days, and, uh, the follow-up appointment I'm assuming is where he's going to take the stitches out. And, um, I did have to reschedule my appointments the day of surgery. I reached out to everybody because, um, yeah, I wasn't going to be able to work, and that was the soonest I found out. So I went ahead and let them know that The doctors the day of surgery told me that, um, I would not be able to work until they looked at it. They would not clear me to work until then, so I definitely didn't want to make anything worse. Although I felt like I could kind of wiggle, now that the bandage is off, I feel a different type of pressure and pain, but it's not like excruciating. I did not have carpal tunnel. Um, he did not say that this was any way, shape, or form related to doing hair. He said that it happens in a lot of adults, that just moving your hands cause the fluid sometimes to collect in a spot and it will build up. So he didn't say that this had anything to do with doing hair. I've met other people who have like cysts on their hand that just leave them. Um, so I don't know, but, um, this is just a little update of what's going on in my life. Um, I took off July initially because of virus numbers were going back up, and I did not want to be, uh, a COVID victim. So I took the month of July off, was really only doing regulars' hair until this happened. Um, so now I'm off until this heals. But, um, what else? I moved into my new house. Um, I I don't know what else has happened. Oh, I have Sisterlocks now, which I had in a previous video. Um, they're styled now, so you can see that they've grown out. Um, I did retie my own— retighten my own Sisterlocks over the break, and I did record a lot of it, so I'll show you guys the process of that. But this was just a little update of what's going on with my hand. If you guys have any questions, any advice, any opinions, any thoughts, if you have an experience with this type of stuff, please drop a comment and let me know because this was very new to me. Um, but I'm okay. Um, I am forcing myself to sit down because Lord knows I don't want to. I am a busybody. If you know me, you know that I'm always doing something. I'm always trying to find something to do. So I'm going to try to sit down today, especially after unwrapping and rewrapping this. I don't feel as safe doing things that I'm not supposed to do, which might be a good thing. But, um, yeah, that's what's been going on with me, you guys. I will be back to work sooner than later, but bye! Your fingers for me. I had a biopsy done on my foot and they had me remove my own stitch. Really? Yeah, so I should be okay with it. You're fine. I know, sorry, the worst part is getting under that knot. I apologize. Okay, got one more little one over here. Done. Okay, you did awesome. Thank you. He'll be in just a minute. Okay.
And is healing. As you see, that last picture was the most recent picture from today after painting um, at home. So I am healing up and it's gonna scab over and the skin is going to fall off. The pain is 110% gone— well, okay, 99% gone. If I hit it on something, it still hurts, but I can like fully function. I was approved to work the day they took the stitches out, which I waited a couple days, but I'm good. And I'm glad I had it done. I'm glad it's over with. And yeah, drop a comment if you are familiar with this situation, if you also had a similar cyst in your hand or wherever. And yeah, thank you guys for tuning in. I'm so sorry I didn't tell anybody I was having the surgery done, but yeah. All right, see you on the next video.
