Number 1, you cannot straighten your roots at home while wearing K-tips. Once that new growth comes in, trying to get close to the scalp with heat tools can cause problems, which leads me to number 2. K-tips will melt if you apply heat directly to the bonds. That keratin is heat activated, which is how we install them, but once it's in your hair, any extra heat can break it down and cause slippage.
