In this instructional video, stylist TT demonstrates how to bleach the knots of a 13‑inch lace frontal to create a natural‑looking scalp effect. She explains the advantages of a lace frontal over closures, then walks through preparing a thick Pravana bleach mixture (cream developer 40 + Pure Light powder) to avoid runoff. TT applies the bleach evenly across the frontal, monitoring until the knots turn a golden hue, noting that she eyeballs the timing and that water stops the bleaching process. After rinsing, she uses an argan‑oil shampoo and conditioner from Sally’s to cleanse and condition the hair, showcasing the final result where the bleached frontal blends seamlessly with the scalp. She also references related videos on installing and customizing the lace frontal, and encourages viewers to ask questions.

Hey everybody, it's your girl TT, and I'm coming with a video on how to bleach knots on a lace frontal. This is much requested because I have a lot of clients wanting the look of a frontal, but they don't actually know what it is. Unlike a 4-inch wide closure or silk closure, lace frontals are 13 inches long, so you can part them left, right, or in the middle, deep side part if you want to. Then you can also wear them all the way back. So if you have thinning or you have natural hair and you want a protective style, a lace frontal is an awesome way to achieve a beautiful finished look while protecting your natural hair. So here I use Pravana, their cream developer 40 and their Pure Light power lightener. And I am going to actually not weigh this, but I'm going to mix it by consistency. I want it to be thick. I don't want it to be runny. So, and I also want to have enough so that I don't have to go ahead and mix again. So I'm going to go ahead and mix just enough so that when I lift my brush out of the bowl, it doesn't drip. We're going to slow it down, and you see I've lifted it out and nothing on my brush is moving, which means that when I apply it to my frontal, it won't run all through the frontal onto the hairs that it doesn't need to be on. The look that this gives the frontal is a golden base so that when you part the hair inside the frontal, because you know you're supposed to be able to part your hair left, right, in the middle, on the side, deep side part, but you want it to look like your scalp. So I'm going to go ahead and apply the lace— I'm sorry, the bleach— all over the base of that frontal, and I'm going to let it sit until those knots are golden. You can see right now they're black. Everything in there is black, and everything underneath it is dark. And I'll let it sit, and I actually won't time it. I'm gonna eyeball this. I want to make sure that when I see golden, that I am rinsing it out. And now you can see that once the camera focuses, it's golden on the knots. And you can pause this, you can replay it, um, and the customizing of the lace frontal hairline is another separate video. So right now you can see that the bottom of this is just golden. You see those golden hairs? So that's perfect. We want to go ahead and rinse it out. And then I want to— I want you all to know that one thing about lightener or bleach is that once the water hits it, it is no longer processing. Water does stop processing on bleach. So you don't have to worry about it getting onto the hairs once the water has hit it. I'm using one of my favorite one and only argan oil shampoos and conditioners, and you can buy this at any Sally's nationwide. It smells so good, you will love it and your clients will love it. And this is the result. I'll show me parting through her hair and you'll see that golden look. You see that? That looks just like her scalp. Any lighting you put this in, if you part it, it looks just like her scalp all throughout because I bleached from ear to ear on this lace frontal. I do have other videos of how to install the lace frontal, but because this one I didn't use any glue or any tape, which I usually do not unless the client requests it, and I'll actually show how I pluck that hairline too. So you guys go ahead and subscribe and comment below and ask any questions you may have. Hope you enjoyed this video.
