LaToya Kelly removes K-tip extensions after six months and shows what her hair looks like underneath. She lost hair after having two babies, so she went back to extensions. The removal takes alcohol and flat pliers, and she loses about 100 strands a day.

Listen, it's about to be a whole bunch of chaos in this video, but I want y'all to pay attention to the message, okay? The message is these are K-tips after being in for 6 months, and honestly it was almost 7. Mind you, I don't do nothing but wear my hair up in a ponytail. I'm not out here doing all these extra styles and stuff. This is the invisible technique that was done on my hair, but I'm just showing you guys what 6 months of K-tips looks like. And it really looks like chaos, but that's because near the end you'd be like, girl, I'm just throwing this stuff up cuz I'm about to take these out. But then taking it out don't happen, your schedule's crazy. So yeah, this is what it looks like, but I am going to take out a section for you to see what it looks like. This is a little group over here. Now backstory, you guys, I had a baby, okay? I actually had two, but I had a baby right before I got this set of K-tips in, and postpartum hair loss is a real thing. So the temples, like right above your eyebrow area on both sides, I mean, they always come out for me. With my son, it came out and I shaved my sisterlocks off. This time I said, no, we're not doing locs again because if they come out, I'm going to shave my hair off. So this time I said, you know what, I'm getting my K-tips back in and I'm just going to be fabulous with this baby, right? Right. So I am showing you a takedown after 6 months. Now mind you, you lose about 100 strands of hair per day. Okay, so if I had K-tips in for 6 months on top of the fact that I just had a baby and I'm going through postpartum hair loss, I'm gonna have a lot of shedding. But if you all remember, I showed you all what my hair looks like after I took these down and my hair is flourishing. Okay, so this is— first of all, and why do I have this, this jacket on? I think it was cold in my house and I was like, look, I'm trying to be warm. But look, see, that's my real hair. And then I'm still taking down the sections. So this is something that I'm okay with doing at home. I was not a licensed K-Tip professional. They don't exist when I got these, um, when I took these out. However, um, it doesn't take a specialty to take these out, okay? You just need alcohol, flat pliers, and you need to hold your hair at the root when you take it out. So I spray the alcohol on it. This is what breaks down the K-tip bond, and then I hold my hair after I clamp, clamp, clamp and break that down, um, after spraying alcohol, I clamp, clamp, clamp, and then I hold my hair at the root, and then I pull the actual K-tip down. So this is how I take my own hair down every time I have K-tips. I do not go back to somebody else because who has time for that? Not me. So this is showing this section's fully taken out, and I am going to just comb it out. Everybody's like Why are you using that tiny comb when you go to detangle? I'm tender-headed, so I like to comb it out as much as possible before I go to shampoo, because when I go to shampoo, I don't want no tangling. When my hair is wet, it is fragile. I don't know about yours, not everybody's the same way, but my hair is very fragile when it's wet. So I go ahead and comb, comb, comb, get it out. And then I move on to the next section. Hair, yes, is going to come out, but after 6 months, if you don't have hair coming out, you might be magic. Okay, but yeah, keep watching. I'll see y'all in the next video.
