No Glue/Baby Hair Needed | Ombre Red Lace Frontal Wig | YSWigs.com Review

LaToya Kelly reviews a pre-plucked ombre red lace frontal wig from YS Wigs with no combs or glue. She bleaches the knots, tints the lace, and tests it at a sorority event where it stayed put in warm weather. The trade-off: easy summer wear but limited parting options and no stocking cap compatibility.

Hey y'all, it's your girl TT and I'm back with another review. What'd you think? So this is how it came. You all know I don't really like combs. But we're gonna test this wig out and see. It looks pre-plucked, so we'll see how it looks after, after I actually— after I bleach the knots and tint the lace and everything. No, y'all don't want nothing but a voiceover, so that's what I'm gonna give y'all. Welcome back to the channel, and, um, this wig from YS Wigs is fabulous.. And I, when I tell you, okay, let's talk about why I don't like combs. I don't like combs because combs used excessively can pull your hair out. So if I am wearing wigs every day with combs, eventually that tension from those combs is going to start tugging on my hair. And I do sew-ins, for those who don't know, that is what I do for a living. That's my business and my job. I know customers that I have of my own that have complained about their hair coming out from the combs in their wigs. So I would not recommend wearing a wig with combs too often. Now, this isn't my first rodeo with YS Wigs. This particular video you're seeing in the corner, in this picture, was my first review with them, and I asked them to send me a wig with no combs, no clips, nothing, no adjustable bands or anything. And they did just that. And I customized it to my liking, and it was perfect. Now, this wig— I wanted a wig to show some diversity in wigs, flexibility if you will. I don't know what you want to say, what you want to call it. But for this particular wig, I want something that you don't have to glue down, you don't have to do baby hairs. It's light, it's short, it's already colored when the company sends it to you. So this is a breeze in the summer. Like, it's perfect for the summer. Um, if you remember in the beginning of the video, I did not have any baby hairs or anything, and it's not glued down at all. So the bad part about this type of wig is you cannot use a stocking cap underneath it to have a transparent base underneath it. So, um, and that's because there's combs in it. You don't— you can't You don't want to put those combs through a cap. Now the caveat of that is you just want to— and I honestly, I didn't even have to put makeup on a part or anything. Like, it was perfect after bleaching the knots and tinting the lace. It was just perfect. So, um, the only issue that I had with putting the wig on was getting those freaking things in the back to snap to the, the cap, and I'll show you what I'm talking about. I have a screen, a still frame of the inside of it, but it was pretty hard to get the clip underneath my little ponytail and tighten the straps that are in there in the back of it to make it an adjustable wig. So if you see, there's to the left, middle, and right, there's those straps that you pull and connect in the middle, and then there's that clip that you clip underneath your ponytail. So doing that without seeing back there was very difficult, which is why it was taking me so long. But once I got it to tighten and be perfect for me, I didn't have it shifting. I went to an event for my sorority and I was outside, and when I tell you I had zero shifting, zero moving, um, I was not hot It was a perfect wig for an outdoor day. So, um, I pretty much love it. I love it. It's so like just easy. I'll cut the— it just comes with the lace frontal. The lace on the sides of it, like right above your ear, are about an inch wide, and towards the middle of the front of your head, it's about 2-3 inches. For, for my, from my perspective. Um, so there won't be enough room for side parting. It did come automatically with a middle part, and I personally would leave it in that middle part because— or no part at all, because you see right now it's not parted and it looks fine. And you see me cutting the lace and everything, and it just looks perfect. It melts right into your skin with no problem at all. No glue needed, no heat needed. I mean, you could use heat to make it, place it, but you don't need heat to do anything else. So what I did was I curled this with my flat iron first, and then I kind of had so much going on traveling that it kind of sat in the closet for a little while, and then I pulled it back out to actually record and show what it looked like after I got my makeup done and everything. So I'm kind of playing with it first and combing through it before I actually get my makeup on and take it for a run, uh, around town. But you see, I'm just messing with it, and you can't really do a side part with it because it— the lace is so short over there that it's not really enough room. And since you can't wear a cap, it's not transparent through it, it doesn't look like a scalp under it. So I would really just leave it in the middle. And that's how it came anyway. So it did come cut already, it came colored again already. Um, so this is pretty much if you wanted to wear it straight, which I, I'm personally just not into a straight bob middle part, but if that's what you wanted to do, this wig basically comes out of the packaging ready to go. Seriously. So, um I started using my 1-inch curl, but as you see after this video, or after this portion of the video, you're gonna see me kind of pull it back out and you're gonna see the curls have been dead because they have— I laid this wig down, so I didn't actually put it on the Styrofoam head and let it sit, stand up somewhere. It was actually laying down, so those curls got flat, but they still looked good. You'll see, you'll see what I'm talking about. So this is the first go-around curling them, and then I will show you what they look like after they laid around for a little while. But YS Wigs has those wigs that are like get-up-and-go kind. Like the last wig review I did for them, I didn't even have to bleach the knots. I had to tweeze the hairline a little bit, and when I tell you it was beautiful. Like, oh, okay, so this is the wig after laying down for a while. So you see how the curls are a little bit flatter, but that's really the style I was going for. I didn't want perfect curls. So now I have my makeup done and I'm getting ready to go to an event, and, um, I'm trying to wig on. And you see I have a little easier time this time now that I know what I'm doing with these clips and the straps in the back. But, um, this was the outcome. It was so pretty. I got so many compliments on this wig, and I'm like, girl, you can have it when I'm taking it off. But, um, let me know what you all think. Are you, are you down with the red? Or, you know, you know, my hair was dyed red and it's grown out, so this kind of was me all over it, and the, the company didn't even realize that, but it came out perfect for me. And okay, so here what I'm doing, let me explain myself like Kevin Hart. So I had to think about like, how do I want the front of this? Like, how does it lay? How is it looking? Does it look like it comes out my skin? You know, you kind of got to look real close up, then you got to back up a little bit, then you got to kind of mess with the bang part, see how you like it. That's what I was doing here. So it looks like I was doing nothing, but I was trying to get the perfect hair, really, and, and a perfect picture. Who's not trying to get the perfect selfie at all times? Why did I keep this in the video, y'all? I don't know, but it didn't— it ain't hurting. So this is where I'm talking about, I'm like 'Uh, do I like— what do I— do I want to push it up? Do I want to pull it back?' And then I start adding curls. As a hairstylist, you know you're never finished with your hair. It's like the never-ending story. You could always tweak something else. And somebody else is like, 'Girl, it's perfect.' And I'm like, 'Girl, you see that little piece of lint right there? That needs to go.' So yeah, that's me. That's the type of hairstylist I am. But I would recommend YS Wigs to anybody. I love their hair. I am not selling this wig. I'm not getting rid of it, you guys. Um, so you're gonna have to buy your own. And in the beginning of the video, I put a description— or I put a link in the description for the discount code, so make sure you guys check that out. And, uh, shout out to my girl Keisha Marie, Keisha with a Y Marie, on Instagram for the makeup. She always slays me. But you all drop a comment, make sure you thumbs up this video if you haven't already, subscribe because this is all about hair and beauty. And if that's what you're about, then we will get along perfectly fine. All right, so have you not thumbs up this video yet? You got time, you got time, girl, go ahead. All right, so thank you guys for tuning in with me. Make sure you guys leave a comment and let me know what you think. I'll see you later, okay?
