Sew-In STITCH Technique | Braid Pattern | High Ponytail Mastery | Part 2

TT demonstrates sew-in stitching techniques that skip knots, using backstitching to secure threads on a braided cap. She shows how to remove adhesive residue from a previous quick-weave and sew in bundles for a high-ponytail finish.

Hey y'all, I'm back with the second part to this video. I've already shown you the braid pattern, so now I'm going to show you the rest of me kind of sewing on the net, me stitching it in a little bit, and I'll kind of emphasize some of the parts where I am stitching a particular way. If you haven't already, you should check out my video of the 4 quick steps to beat up your sew-in. It's really helpful and I use it a lot in this video. So when I say things regarding that video, just make sure you go check it out and then you'll understand. So even as I stitch on her net, I use one of my quick methods. It makes everything in the entire install, um, faster if you do this, especially if your thread is really long. So I'm stitching on her cap now. I'm gonna go ahead and sew in these bundles. I've sewn in the bottom ones already, and I thought I was recording but I wasn't. I'm sorry about that, you guys. So now I am just going to show me sewing in these bundles. She had these in a quick weave prior to this install. This is my luxury straight hair. So, um, she had them in a quick weave first, and now she took them out. Um, whoever did the quick weave was not me, number one, and number two, um, they did cut the wefts everywhere. So the black that you kind of see on the weft is from the quick weave glue, but it wasn't sticky or anything for me. It was easy for me to sew in. The needle wasn't getting stuck. It didn't cause any problems, and I have had customers where it did cause problems.
Sometimes the needle will get stuck in the adhesive, or some of the adhesive residue will get stuck on your needle, and you—
it's like just a nuisance.
But this was pretty easy.
Whatever she did to clean this, she did a really good job. But, um, the only part of it is I have to put all these pieces together like a puzzle, um, so Hopefully you guys can see clear. If you can, I love some interaction, so put some sunglasses— those are just a pair of glasses, you know, just to say like, yes, we see clear, like we can see everything you're doing. And drop a comment and tell me, you know, if— what's the most helpful thing that you've learned from me so far? Because I want to make sure that I'm giving you all content that you want and not just something that I want. I don't know if you all just want to see me work, if you want to learn something specific that maybe I haven't touched on before, because I feel like I've touched on pretty much everything. Look how close I get to that head. Like, I just love new technology and the fact that I can show it up super, super close and it'd be so crystal clear.
Oh, so this is a good gem.
That was actually me doing my loc stitch at the end, and I do teach that. So maybe if you like, I could create an entire video just on the process of me locking the ends, because I've seen people ask over and over how do I do it when I have videos on it. But maybe Maybe those videos are just too old. Maybe we need some new new. Y'all let me know in the comments next to y'all sunglasses. Um, in the last video I said that I was at home at night trying to keep quiet. Now I'm actually in my storage room, and if you all didn't know, I have a nail tech working in my space right now, and she's amazing, and she has a client, so I'm just in the storage room where it's quiet so I can just record this voiceover and not impact her and her client and her work. But she's amazing. Y'all should follow her. I'll put her info in the description. She's, she's really, really good.
So what I'm showing you here is basically how I don't knot anything. So what I do is I backstitch. So if my thread is running out on my needle, I will stitch where I can and then stitch it a little backwards, and then I will stitch back over it with the new thread. So that secures it into place so that I don't have to tie another knot.
Um, everything I do is to make this process easier for myself and my client. So the less I have to cut, the less I have to do, and the less my client has to cut out a knot, the better for her as well. So I'm always trying to make the takedown easier, my time easier. It's about both of us. I guess I haven't really done this in a while, so I'm going to take a moment and stop and say hello to everyone. If you're new, I'm TT. I've been doing hair forever, since I was a kid. I started out doing braids, and then once I got to college, I started doing extensions, and it's going from there. My first YouTube video was in '06, and that was of me doing micro braids. And shortly after, I started doing everything else. So welcome to my channel. If you are enjoying what you're seeing, or you like the view, or it's crystal clear to you, which I know it's giving 4K, baby. If you are new here, go ahead and subscribe. You won't be disappointed because I always give out heat, and it's not gonna stop anytime soon, trust me. I got videos pending to be uploaded as we speak. So welcome to my channel, and if you have been subscribed, one of the at this point 271,000 subscribers— I'm still so excited every time I say that number. Like, I can't believe Lilo TT, like Just me, just me got all these subscribers, like. Um, first of all, I'm holding that down with the clip after I put hairspray on it to flatten it. So that's a tip if you don't know how to get your track super flat without cutting the weft, you can do that. But, um, I wanted to say that I have been on so much. I've created a, um, Etsy store. So I sell a lot of like custom designs that I created, and I have like a black Barbie t-shirt. I have some things from the Alabama boat bra, like, um, cups, t-shirts, hoodies. I have a digital planner. I have some images that I created that you can download digitally and have them printed at Walgreens, CVS, or, um, wherever you want to have them printed at, and frame them and put them up on your wall. And they're super cheap, cheaper than going to HomeGoods or any of those stores and spending $100 on a picture that you can get for a fraction. So check out my Etsy store. My name is TT Does It Off, the number 4, and then Y-O-U. TT does it all for you. So I really am doing it all, okay? Like, I have a kids book in the works, and that is an entrepreneurial creative mind book for young girls. So hopefully by now that's done and I can add that link in the description as well. But I have been doing a lot of things, you guys. I love hair, I love beauty. I love teaching. And, um, yeah, I am married. I have a 2-year-old son, and I have an amazing family. And I live in St. Louis, Missouri. That's where I work out of. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri. And how many of you are listening to this to go to sleep? Because I think I'm about to talk myself to sleep. I don't think anyone is looking at the video anymore. You're probably asleep, right? Okay, so let me wake up. Let's wake up and let's get to moving, you guys, because y'all need to get these clients in. If you're doing your own hair, you need to get to work. Get that thread and needle out, get that braiding hair out, get those bundles out, and let's do it. Okay, I'll go back to just being calm because I'm not— I'm just in a calm mood. I'm not even in the mood to, to talk loud. I'm, I'm relaxing myself at this point. But, um, you all see my shirt? Like, everybody was like, why didn't I get any shirts? And I'm like, I just bought some. And honestly, I created these particular t-shirts, which are also on my Etsy store. I created these for me to wear wear—
blah—
I created these for me to wear to work. I wanted to have something that I could just look professional and branded in. It's— I'm trying to grow in St. Louis, which I originally didn't care about, but now that I am living my dream, which is a mother, a wife, um, and an entrepreneur, now I'm back to business. So I'm back to branding, I'm back to marketing, I'm back to everything. So I'm back to my YouTube, I'm back. Like, yeah. So, um, if you don't know, my membership channel has more personal inside things like, um, my house, my home, like things that go on with me personally. So if you are not a member I do share more private things on my membership channel, so drop a comment if you have questions on the membership channels. That money goes directly to YouTube. It does cost, and it starts as little as $5, so check me out.
Drop a comment and ask any questions if you want to. I do have some educational videos coming there as well, and there's a link in the description to some free access to some of my teachings. So make sure you click out that TT link in the description. It'll be right at the top. So you guys remember, this is a high ponytail, right? She is able to put this hair all the way up. And of course, I am going to demonstrate it because what would this video be if I didn't?
And I thought she moved right there because I pulled something, but she was reacting to something we were watching. So I just straightened out her leave-out, and then I am going to show you guys that high ponytail because that's what it's about.
And now we are near the end, but I want to go over some things that my membership channel will be receiving. And as far as these tips, it'll be on the Pro Slayer level. So I want to include how I made my book if you're interested. Also, I want to include, um, getting into affiliate marketing and making money on your social media platforms, how to use AI, because a lot of people don't even know how to use AI in the hair business, and there's a million ways. And if you don't know what AI is, it's artificial intelligence, and it's ways that you can basically make everything you're doing easy, everything you're doing, make it get done for you without you having to lift a finger. So, um, 2023, 2024, I'm all into working harder— no, that was wrong— I'm all into working smarter, not harder. Um, I work hard too, but I want to work smarter, not harder, if I can. So I hope you all enjoyed this video. I hope I didn't talk too much, and, um, I hope that you guys like her look. Again, she's been on my YouTube before, and she's actually been on more than one video after I went back and looked at it. Um, but yes, I'm so glad you guys are still tuning in. I just want to thank y'all for still paying me any mind after being on here for all these years. It's like, to be able to still be relevant and still have you guys loving what I'm showing you means everything. Y'all boosting my confidence, okay? But it's not about me, it's about her right now, so Y'all just drop up something black in the comments because her hair is black, black. It's jet black. So I want you guys to drop something black in the video, if you— in the description, if you made it this far, so I know who's who and who's not. All right, you guys, thanks for watching. Subscribe if you haven't already, and I'll see y'all in the next one.
