In this instructional video, LaToya Kelly demonstrates how to create an ombre effect on a Brazilian wavy U‑part wig. She begins by listing the required supplies—BW2 bleach powder, 20‑volume developer, a mixing bowl, and clips—and explains her mixing ratio (six scoops of bleach with developer to a thick white consistency). She shows how to position the wig over the bowl, smooth the ends, and start bleaching at the tips. The process involves applying bleach in successive layers, allowing each layer to process for about ten minutes before moving upward, with optional extra layers for higher placement. After bleaching, she blends the lightened ends into the unbleached hair using small spurts of color and combing to create a natural gradient. She then wraps the ends in foil for an additional five‑minute processing period to enhance color development. LaToya mentions the importance of timing to avoid damage, plans to cut and style the front layers later, and previews upcoming videos on washing, co‑washing, and conditioning the wig. The tutorial concludes with a promotional plug for her virgin Brazilian and Malaysian hair sold via a Facebook page.

This is a tutorial of how to ombre color your U-part wig. First, you will need the BW2 bleach powder, a bowl, glass, and then my developer, which is 20. I use 6 scoops of the bleach powder. And I mixed the developer until it was a thick white, um, substance. So just mixed and measured. My clips are actually by the bowl. The opening of my U-part wig is by the bowl. So I just kind of spread it out, combed it out, opened it. By the way, this is 20, 18, and 16-inch Brazilian wavy hair. You can kind of see the curl pattern there. So where my hand is right now, my right hand— my left hand, I'm sorry, your right— will actually be the opening of the U-part wig at the top. And I'm just kind of smoothing the ends out so when I apply the bleach, it will be equally distributed to the hair. I actually applied the bleach to the ends of the hair first I let it sit for 10 minutes between each layer for the ombre effect. So I just went around and around the ends and just kind of bleached them down. And once I got finished with that, I let it sit for about 10 minutes for each layer, and then I went ahead and washed it and shampooed it. And I will have a video of me shampooing out the bleach and washing and conditioning the U-part wig for all those who want to know what's like the easiest way to do it, the easiest way to take it off your head, do it in the sink. And I do have a video coming up of how I wash my U-part wig. Since this is the Brazilian curly, I went ahead and started started kind of combing the ends a little bit. You don't have to do this. I just wanted to make sure that it got to the other side of the U-part wig, um, just because it's laying flat and I'm not going to flip it over. I'm just kind of combing through, um, where it meets the non-colored hair for the next layer, just kind of combing through so that it does take all the way through the hairs. All right, so now we're going to let it sit for 10 minutes, and then I'm going to start on the next layer. All right, about 10 more minutes this layer will sit. I kind of wanted to do it higher up on the sides, um, as you see, like where the edges are, just so it'll be higher up when I layer the front of the U-part wig. Right now the U-part wig hasn't been cut or styled or anything. I just made it, so it will be cut in layers in the front. So I just wanted to have the ombre effect higher up. The higher up you get, the harder it is. For the ombre effect to actually go all the way through to the other side of the hair. So you may have to do like an extra layer, but make sure you're timing yourself, um, for the 10 minutes so you don't have any damaged ends. This next step is to blend the darker hair to the ombre effect so that it looks more natural. Um, so if you see, I'll just kind of go in like little spurts going into the brown or the non-bleached hair right here. So I'm just kind of doing a little effect, a little effect, so it looks like it's grown out. It's not actually rows of color. For about 5 minutes, I just rolled the ends of the foil up off the table so that I could let the color sit in without any extra air. Just kind of fold the foil over and cover the ends of the hair so that it can just process, and the colors will reflect off of each other in the foil. So just FYI, I do sell, um, virgin Brazilian hair, Malaysian hair. Visit my Facebook, Facebook book.com/justmentiontt, um, J-U-S-T-M-E-N-T-I-O-N-T-T. And my prices for hair, which, um, this is the hair I do sell. It's Brazilian curly— um, I'm sorry, Brazilian wavy. So yeah, hit me up. I do have a video of me washing the hair coming, me co-washing the hair coming as well. So subscribe to my channel and stay tuned. Bye!
