In this tutorial, Javier Torres (with the AI narrator BB01) walks viewers through a nine‑step, no‑code process for creating a "second brain" in Obsidian that serves as a single source of truth readable by both OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude. The guide starts by listing required tools—a free Obsidian app, a single folder (the vault), and a free voice‑interview tool linked in the description. It then details how to download and set up an Obsidian vault, create a minimal folder hierarchy (Inbox, Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive) and a top‑level source‑of‑truth file. The user populates this file by using the free tool in voice mode, which interviews them and records their answers. A concise rules note is added to dictate that only the user's words are truth, AI‑generated ideas are sandboxed, and only one AI (Claude) is allowed to write to the vault while the other reads. The tutorial explains how to connect Claude and ChatGPT to the vault via their respective "project" features, including instructions to read the source file before answering and handling file extensions. Backup strategies are covered, recommending a single sync service (Obsidian Sync, Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox) and regular updates. Finally, the guide suggests testing the setup with a real task to verify that both AIs correctly reflect the user's identity and knowledge, fixing the source‑of‑truth if answers are inaccurate. The video ends with links to Javier's sites and a call‑to‑action for likes, comments, and subscriptions.

In the last video, we talked about the importance of setting up your second brain and your source of truth. If you haven't watched it yet, make sure to click right here and watch it before you get into this video. But in this video, we're gonna have BB01 walk you through the entire process of setting this up. And by the end, you'll have a brain that both ChatGPT and Claude can both read. Make sure to grab the free tool in the description 'cause you're going to need it to set this up. Without further ado, BB01, take it away.
All right. Alright, let's build your brain! 9 steps, no coding. By the end, ChatGPT and Claude will both be reading the same truth about you. Step 1: What you need. A free app called Obsidian. One folder. The free tool from the description. And whichever AI you already use. That's it. Step 2: Download Obsidian. It's free, even for work. Open it. Click Create next to Create New Vault. Give it a name, pick where it lives, and hit create. A vault is just a folder on your computer; that's the whole trick. Step 3: Give it a few folders and don't overbuild. An inbox for quick ideas, projects, ongoing areas, resources, and an archive. Then one file at the top— your source of truth. Step 4: Fill it. Open the free tool in Claude or ChatGPT. Turn on voice mode and just answer the questions. It interviews you, plays back what it heard, and you lock in what's true. Then save what it gives you into your vault. Step 5: The rules. Add a short rules note so every AI knows how to treat your brain. Only your words are truth. AI ideas are adopted, not truth. Experiments go in a sandbox. And nothing gets saved without your go. And pick one AI to be in charge of writing to it. The other one only reads. 2 AIs writing at once means 2 opinions fighting over your files. Javier's is Claude. Step 6: Connect Claude. The simple way: make a project, add your source of truth file, and set the project instructions to read my source of truth before answering. On a paid plan, Claude's desktop app can connect to your vault folder directly. So it's always reading the latest version. Step 7. Same thing in ChatGPT. Make a project. Add the same file. Same instruction. On the desktop app, depending on your plan, you may be able to open your vault folder directly too. And if it won't take a .md file, just rename it to .txt. The free kit also has the handoff templates from Javier's last video, so the two can pass work back and forth. Step 8: Back it up. Use Obsidian Sync or put your vault in Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox and keep it downloaded on your computer. Just pick one. 2 sync services on the same vault can fight. Then keep it fresh. When you change your source of truth, update it in your projects too and check your current work about once a month. Step 9: Test it. Open a fresh chat, give it a real task, and read the answer. Does it know who you help? Does it sound like you? Did it make anything up? If something's off, fix the truth, not the answer. That's it. 9 steps. Your brain, your words, and every AI on the same page. Back to you, Javier.
