The Real Reason You Feel Stuck Making Content (Try This)

In this motivational video, Javier Torres addresses the common feeling of being stuck when creating content and offers five practical strategies to overcome it. He begins by urging creators to shift focus from self‑validation to the purpose of serving their audience, reminding them of their original "why." He then frames each piece of content as a data‑driven experiment, encouraging creators to post, measure metrics, and iterate rather than waiting for perfection. Drawing on Alex Hormozi’s anecdote about flyer distribution, Torres stresses the importance of producing enough volume to reveal what works. He cites Myron Golden’s principle that work either works for you or works on you, highlighting that content creation can shape personal growth even when external results are lacking. Using Ecclesiastes, he warns against waiting for perfect conditions and advises creators to "plant" content consistently. Finally, he tackles the fear of looking "cringe" and promotes embracing discomfort as a path to success. The video concludes with a prayer, a call to like, comment, subscribe, and an invitation to work with his studio, Javier Torres Studios.

Do you feel stuck when it comes to making content? Either making content feels really hard, you don't know what to post, you hit a creative wall. Whether you've been doing content for a long time or just getting started, I think everybody has felt this way at some point. You hit a roadblock, you hit a mental snag, you just hit a wall. You either don't feel like posting at all, or you just have no clue On what to post. By the end of this video, my hope is that you look at that just a little bit differently. In this video, we're gonna talk about 5 different ways to get unstuck mentally with your content. Tip number 1, it's not about you. When you get beyond you, beyond your own insecurities, beyond self-serving metrics, beyond how you look, beyond how you sound, content starts to open up. Think about the people you are called to help. If your content is about helping people with addiction, think about that person. If you're a counselor helping people with broken marriages, think about that couple. If you're a pastor, an author, a leader, if your business helps make people's lives better, that's your why. I want you to stop, think about your why. Why did you even start making content in the first place? Going back to the first love, the first reason why you started making this content in the first place will help anchor you. Content is less about performance and more about service. It's less about you and it's more about why you're called to serve people. It's less about trying to impress and it's more about trying to be useful. Tip number 2, do it for the data. I'm in a coaching program with Omar El Takrori And one of the biggest things I've learned is this. There's no perfect product, there's no perfect video, there's no perfect thumbnail. When you create a piece of content, you're doing it for the data. You're not making it for vanity metrics or for validation. You're making it as a test. You post it, you measure what happens. Click-through rate, average view duration, comments, shares. That becomes your feedback loop. And when you take the data and then you reiterate, the next video gets better, the next product gets better, whatever it is, the next iteration is better because now you actually know what your audience is responding to, not because you guessed better, but because the data is leading you down the right path. Omar says to think about it like a scientist. You don't just theorize forever. You run experiments. You collect the data, you adjust. That's the play. The mistake people make is treating early disappointment like a failure. Low video count on video 1 is not a failure. It's information. It's telling you something about your title, your thumbnail, your positioning, or your audience fit. Take it, learn from it, build on the next one smarter. When you're creating, every piece of content you post is a data collection event. So you don't wait for perfection. Post it, watch what happens, let the audience tell you what they actually need. Repeat after me, do it for the data. Tip number 3, you're probably doing the right thing, you just haven't done enough of it. I saw this clip from Alex Hormozi a while back and it stuck with me. And instead of me trying to express it, I'll actually just play it for you. Right here.
One of my early mentors told me about flyers. Put out 300 flyers. One guy called me back. So I called the mentor back up and I was like, hey, what the heck? This didn't work. I just put out 300 total. He just laughed. He's like, 300? Test with 5,000. Then we do 5,000 a day after that. I was like, 5,000 a day? Yeah, like 150,000 flyers a month. And when he said that, I had this huge realization that I might have been doing the right thing all along, but I was just doing far too little of it. I see so many smaller, younger entrepreneurs who do something for too short, too little time, not enough volume. That they might have been doing the right thing. They just didn't wait long enough, or they didn't do enough of it.
A lot of the times we could be beating ourselves up, but we might be actually doing the right thing. We just haven't done enough of it to know what's working and what's not. His biggest tip is to do so much work where it'd be unreasonable for you to fail. What's that number in your head? If you think posting for 6 months is a big enough size, which I think is, it's going to tell you whether you're heading in the right direction or not. It's not going to guarantee that you're going to go viral, but it's at least going to say if people are watching it or people are commenting on it, if it's getting the right sort of comments, the right sort of people reaching out, is going to tell you that you're heading in the right direction. So before you tell yourself this isn't working, ask yourself the question, do I actually know that? Have I even done enough work yet? That right there is enough to keep you in the game and just Keep posting. Tip number 4 comes from Myron Golden. It's either working for you or it's working on you.
You've probably had the experience where you've been working on something and it wasn't working for you like you would have liked it to work. I know I've had that experience. In fact, when I first started selling— I started selling in October of 1985. I did not make my first sale until April of 1987. That's 18 months that I was working, doing presentation after presentation, and people kept saying no. I didn't feel like it was working, but it was working anyway because Because all work works. Work is a 2-sided coin. You flip it and it lands on heads, congratulations, it's working for you. You flip the coin of work, it lands on tails, congratulations, it's working on you. You have to be willing to let the work work on you until you become the person for whom it can work. Don't forget this: the reason it's so hard right now is so you are able and willing to get better. It's supposed to be hard until you get good.
He talks about it's either working for you or it's working on you. And that really hit me because sometimes we only value something if it's visible working for us, more views, more money, more leads, more traction. But what if before it works for you, it has to work on you? What if creating content is actually shaping you, building your discipline, Building your confidence, exposing insecurities, making you grow. Real success is inner work first because it's either working for you or it's working on you, and either way, something is happening. So keep creating because content is working. Tip number 5 comes from the Bible. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:4-6, it says, those who wait for perfect weather, never plant. They watch for every cloud, they never harvest. And that is such a word for content because a lot of us keep on waiting for the perfect niche, the perfect confidence, setup, camera, strategy, idea, perfect timing. And because we keep waiting for perfect weather, we never plant. But scripture says to plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, Because you don't know which will prosper, either this one or that one, or maybe both. That's content. You don't know which video is going to connect. You don't know which post is going to land. You don't know which message is going to hit the right person at the right time. So plant anyways, post anyways, create anyway, and keep going anyway. When it feels like you're getting stuck with content, My final tip is this, you learn from doing, not from sitting around procrastinating, looking at stuff on TikTok and Instagram and calling it just learning when you're actually just stalling. Like, don't get me wrong, I learned so much from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, but sometimes if we're being honest, I'm just buying time because I'm too afraid to execute. And maybe that's you. The truth is, a lot of us, we're afraid of what people are going to say. We're afraid of looking dumb. We're afraid that we're not qualified enough. And maybe the biggest culprit of them all is we're afraid of feeling cringe. I heard an amazing quote this week that said, success starts online at max cringe. One of the thoughts I always have is I'd rather be successful and cringe than comfortable and broke. Let me just tell you, full disclosure, this video was for me, if not more than it was for you. These are things I keep reminding myself with content so I can keep on going because I'm going to keep doing it for the people I'm called to reach. I'm going to keep doing it for the data. I'm going to keep doing it so that I know what people actually want and need. And I keep reminding myself that I haven't done enough yet because either content is working for me or it's working on me, but either way it's gonna work. And if you feel the same way, I hope that some of these thoughts help get you unstuck and help with your content. Let's pray. Lord Jesus Christ, God, I just thank you, Father God, for every single person who is watching this video. If any of them have felt discouraged, felt stuck in their content, I pray that you remind them about their why. And I pray that you show them That you are working with them, for them, in them, and that it's a partnership between you and them to create this content to reach the world. Amen. Amen. Amen.
