3 LESSONS AFTER GENERATING OVER $100M IN FACEBOOK ADS

Hernan Vazquez, who spent over a decade running Facebook and Instagram ads that generated $100M+ in revenue, shares three lessons: keep advertising during downturns when competitors pull back and costs drop; treat every ad as a test to remove emotion and scale what works; and make ads helpful by pairing valuable content with clear offers to the right audience.

Here are the 3 main lessons that I learned after generating over $100 million in sales from Facebook ads. Everybody, Hernan Vazquez here with scaletribune.com, and in this video I want to share with you my 3 biggest lessons that I learned after generating over $100 million in revenue attributed to the campaigns that were run on Facebook, Instagram, and some other platforms as well, and after working with some of the biggest names in in digital marketing like Grant Cardone, Frank Kern. I advise Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi team. I work with Steve Kotler, Patrick Bet-David, Paul Getter, Dan Henry, many, many others. And on this video, I wanna share with you some of the lessons that I learned throughout the way and the past 8 years in advertising and decade and a half in digital marketing. So basically, I wanted to condense all of those learnings into easy-to-digest nuggets that you can take and run with. Now if you like this type of content, feel free to subscribe, share, comment below, rate, whatever it is that you're watching this piece of content right now, because it would mean a lot to me and that allows us to grow the channel and get more people impacted by our content and it's pretty cool. Okay, so I've been lucky and blessed and I've worked with some of the biggest names in digital marketing industry. I was Grant Cardone's marketing director for almost a year and a half. I was Frank Kern's CMO and main marketing guy for 3 and a half years. I advise Dean Graziosi, Tony Robbins, and Russell Brunson on mastermind.com challenge and launch. I work with Steve Kotler. I work with Patrick Bet-David. I work with many, many big names, Paul Getter, Dan Henry, many others. Here are some of the lessons that I learned after working with these guys and after getting over $100 million in sales attributed to our own campaigns, all right? Attributed to the campaigns that we run for some of these guys who generate over $100 million in sales and with some of the campaigns that we still run for some of our clients at scaledriven.com. So the first lesson, and this is especially relevant for right now because at this time of recording this video, there's a lot of weirdness going on in the world, right? There's a recession happening, there's inflation, and there's this thing and this conflict there and that conflict there. So there's a lot of uncertainty in the world right now, right? To the point that a lot of big companies, big tech companies, they have huge layoffs happening right now. And they have, you know, they're pulling their advertising spend out of social media platforms and some other platforms. And that creates, in one word, a lot of opportunity for guys like you and I, for smaller entrepreneurs that want to acquire massive amounts of customers. So one of the things that I learned after working with these guys is that they keep on advertising no matter what. And the reason why it's relevant right now is because again, as big companies pull off their advertising budgets from the networks, the cost to acquire customers and the cost to acquire clicks and leads and phone calls, et cetera, et cetera, goes down. And there's a window of opportunity right now for us to go out there and acquire customers. And get more customers to our businesses for cheaper. So if you take a look at, let's say, December of November 2022 versus January and February 2023, the cost to advertise has gone down dramatically. Even if you compare January 2023 with January 2022, it's still cheaper to advertise, especially on Facebook and Instagram. And the big dogs know it and they're going on the attack right now. They're definitely going on the attack and they keep on advertising while everyone else is retreating, while everyone else are fleeing, while everyone else are cutting on marketing and advertising. They Double down. And the second reason why they do that is because as much as you keep on advertising, it breeds this sentiment and this feeling of trust and knowingness and something called familiarity. And the reason that happens is because we're wired in our brains to kind of connect with people on a deeper level the more we see them. Like, for instance, let's say that you start binge-watching a series on Netflix, or you start binge-watching a YouTube channel or some celebrity online and whatnot. At some point, you start thinking And you start feeling like you know them, that you're their friend, that you, you know, understand how they think and you understand how, you know, who they are. You start feeling like you know them. Like for instance, right now I've been a big fan and consuming a lot of content from Andrew Huberman, which I think is a genius, by the way. And he's half Argentinian. Let me tell you that. That makes him super awesome because I'm Argentinian too. But the reality is that at some point I watched so much stuff from the guy, right? And I listened to all of his podcasts or most of his podcast anyways. And then I can connect the dots and I can say, oh yeah, he said this at this point and he said this other thing at this other point. So this breeds this sentiment, this feeling of knowingness, right? And familiarity and trust and whatnot. So again, these people that are spending hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars every single month on ads, they know this and they keep on advertising. Now, other entrepreneurs, you know, do the exact opposite. They stop the ads. They're not consistent with their ads. They start and stop them, start and stop them. And this doesn't work. That doesn't work. But these guys, they just keep on advertising because they wanna breed this sentiment of trust and goodwill, which at the end of the day translates into more revenue. They're not doing it because they're running a charity. No, they're doing it because it makes sales processes so much easier to have these big brands out there. So again, especially throughout these times that things are kind of weird, you want to double down on advertising. You don't wanna stop them. You want to keep on advertising. Number 2, the second thing that I learned after getting over $100 million in revenue attributed to campaigns is that Everything is a test, you know, and this kind of eases the burden of a failed campaign. And it happens a lot. Like we have failed campaigns. Pretty much everyone that has been running ads for a while, they'll tell you that they launched some ads and they don't work and whatnot. So we like to approach things as if everything is a test, because here's the thing. If everything is a test, if everything is an experiment, you're in the lab and you're in lab mode 24/7, then If something fails, you don't feel as bad and you allow yourself, you give yourself the permission to keep on testing. So for instance, at scaledriven.com, you know, we have a lot of data. We've been doing this for a long time. We've been doing this for a decade and a half, 8 years plus on advertising. So we have a lot of data. But sometimes I think that something is bound to work and it doesn't work. And some other things that I think, well, this is not going to work in a million years, they end up working. So everything is a test and you want to come with this beginner's mind to advertising, even if you have a lot of data under your belt like we do. So for instance, sometimes we'll have conversations with clients and we help them with their marketing strategy. We help them with their funnels and their email sequences and their ads, and they come up with an idea or they say, well, I think that we should try this because I think it's going to work. And I don't want to be right. I want to be rich and I want to make my clients rich. That's the idea, right? So I would rather be rich than right. So something that we usually do is Listen, we can definitely give this a shot and see how it works. This is how we've been doing things and it's been working really, really well for us. But that doesn't mean that we cannot actually give these 2 things a go. So we're going to try your idea. You're going to try and we're going to try our idea and see which one wins. Now, sometimes the client was right. And what happens is that we scale his campaigns and we— because his idea worked and now we have a new way of doing things which we didn't have before. Now, sometimes that idea doesn't work, but our idea works, right? So what do we do then? We scale and we go ahead and we develop what we know works. So there's a lot of value. There's a lot of— I would say there's a lot of benefits of you taking marketing as a test and just trying stuff. Like the worst thing that could happen is that you lose a couple hundred bucks or you lose a couple thousand bucks or, you know, you just launch an audience, an offer and it doesn't work and you just do it again and then you do it again and then you do it again until something works. And once something works, then you scale it. And number 3, the 3 main lessons that I learned after working with some of these big names and getting that much money attributed to our own campaigns is that if you If your ads are not going to be helpful, don't make them. I've been blessed and lucky enough to work with Frank Kern for 3 and a half years, and he always says this thing: number one, create helpful content, and number two, make sure that you make offers, right? So number one, create content. Number two, make offers. That's all you need to do to grow your business. And that— it's completely 100% right. And the reason why he says that is because once you put out content, when you're putting out this type of content, you know, helpful content that is magnetic to the people that you want to work with and repellent to the people that you don't want to work with, right? That's something that you want to have in mind when you're creating your content. Then what you want to do is you want to advertise that content. You want to push it out. You don't want to spend all of this time creating content, editing content, uploading content, and then just leave it to a random algorithm to show it to potentially your ideal audience, or you are going to be waiting to go viral for it to work. No, no, no, no, no. If you want to have a big business and a great business, You want to advertise your content. You want to be deliberate with the content that you're putting out. Number one, the messaging, what you're saying. But number two, you also want to be deliberate who you're showing that content to. And that's when advertising, advertising comes to play. Now that is something that again, we develop all the time at scale-driven.com. We'll help our clients getting their content out there because we know it works. Sales processes are much easier. Customer lifetime value goes through the roof. It takes a lot less for them to close a deal. So it has a lot of benefits, right? And then if they don't have any content, we'll help them script that content in a really specific way and then we'll show it out to the world. Like, wouldn't you want your first impression to be the best possible impression with somebody? Wouldn't you want to get that first handshake the right way, especially if somebody that could be a potential buyer from you or a customer from you down the road? Wouldn't you want to impact that person in a really cool way with your content? Right. That's what I think. And especially if you're advertising. If you're advertising, your advertising content will get the lion's share of the eyeballs that your company gets. So you want to go out there and advertise this content, and you want to make your ads as helpful as possible, or don't make them at all. There you have it, my 3 main lessons that I learned after spending millions of dollars on advertising and getting over $100 million attributed to our own campaigns from all of these big names.
