✅ How To Troubleshoot Your Facebook Ads Campaigns (NOT Approved | NOT Working | NOT Delivering) ✅

In this comprehensive tutorial, Hernan Vazquez walks viewers through three critical aspects of Facebook advertising troubleshooting. First, he outlines five common reasons ads get disapproved—promoting banned or restricted products, poor landing‑page experience, excessive text on creatives, referencing personal attributes, and grammar/spelling errors—and offers concrete steps to avoid each issue. Second, he examines why approved ads may fail to deliver, presenting four actionable fixes: selecting the correct campaign objective, adjusting bid strategy to stay competitive, modifying the optimization window, and testing new ad creatives. Finally, he demystifies Facebook’s learning phase, explaining the “learning limited” status, the 30‑50 conversions‑per‑week benchmark, and strategies to exit the limited learning state, such as increasing budget or optimizing for earlier funnel events. Throughout, he repeatedly invites viewers to join his free Facebook group for ongoing support and emphasizes practical, data‑driven adjustments over guesswork.

Hey everybody, Hernan Vazquez here. Welcome to this video. On this video, I want to share with you guys 3 techniques to actually troubleshoot your Facebook advertising. I'm going to be covering 3 topics on this video. Number 1 is how to get your ads approved. So if your ads are not being approved right now, I'm going to share with you a couple things that you can do to get them approved. Number 2, what happens if your, if your ads are approved but they're not delivering? You're not getting any reach, you're not getting any impressions. What to do on that case. And number 3, what to do if your ads campaigns are not getting the results that you want. Okay, so those 3 topics are the ones that we're going to be covering in this video, in this video series I would say. So go ahead, enjoy it. I hope that you like it. If you like this type of content, please consider subscribing to the channel. Leave me a comment below with your questions. Enjoy the rest of the video. Hey, what's up guys? Hernan here and welcome to another video. Now in this video, I wanted to specifically address the question of why my Facebook ads are not being approved, or why my ads are being disapproved and whatnot. And I wanted to kind of give you 5 reasons to actually check when you're launching your Facebook ads, because the reality is that Facebook has changed the rules a lot, and I mean a lot, over the past, I would say, I don't know, 30 days. And some of your ads that might be running right now, then after a closer review, they might get disapproved. So let's jump into the 5 reasons why your ads are not being approved. Now with that said, I also want to invite you guys to the free Facebook group. It's 100% free, and actually we've got featured on one of the top 9 Facebook groups for digital marketers that you should check out by Ahrefs. So I'm gonna leave a link to that article on the description of this video below. So thank you to the guys at Ahrefs, and if they say it, you should definitely be checking it out. All right, so let's jump into the 5 reasons of why your ads are not being approved on Facebook. The main reason, reason number 1, is that you might be promoting something that is either banned or restricted on Facebook. You know, here's the thing. I've been having a big influx of people contacting me trying to promote stuff like Bitcoin or stuff like CBD oils and stuff like, I don't know, beauty products and whatnot. And not all of them are completely 100% banned. Bitcoin, it was banned, but now they put it back on. But some of them might be restricted. By restricted, I mean that you need to be super, super careful. Like, I mean, it's extremely careful when it comes to what kind of claims you're doing with your Facebook ads and what kind of pictures you're using, etc., etc. So do not be— like, some stuff you cannot promote on Facebook, okay? You cannot promote guns, you cannot promote drugs, you cannot promote hate, I don't know, human trafficking. It's just, you know, Facebook is not a one-size-fits-all kind of platform, okay? So you should understand that. But some products like financial services, like beauty products, like you know, those type of things, they're really scrutinized by Facebook. Okay, so if you have a financial offer or if you have a financial product, that's fine, but you need to be super, super careful with your wording, with your video, audio, you know, in case you do videos, with what you're showing in your imagery. Again, be super careful when it comes to whatever claims you're doing. Do not use before and after pictures. Those are not well received on Facebook. And, you know, pretty much some Sometimes it's actually better to find another network to promote your products. Now the second reason why your ads could not be approved is because you are giving people a bad experience in your landing page. By bad experience I mean that either your website takes a lot to load, it might be offline, or it might be the case that the ads or the page rather is too claimy. Again, maybe your ads are good but your income claims are happening on your landing page, or maybe there are a lot of pop-ups and whatnot. And what Facebook does is they do check those 2 things. They check number one, the ad, but they also check the landing page. Facebook will not go further than, for example, a payment gateway, or they will not go further than, let's say, an opt-in form. All right, so have that in mind. You know, your Facebook page, or your landing page rather, that you're sending people from Facebook needs to be compliant as well. You need to have your privacy policy, you need to have your disclaimer, your contact details and all that jazz so that your Facebook ads will get reapproved because again you're kind of abiding the rules on the Facebook side of things but you're breaking them on the landing page side of things which is not a good thing. Number 3 reason that your ads might not get approved is because of a text issue on the image or the audio. Here's the thing. There was, you know, once upon a time, and once upon a time I mean last year, which, you know, in Facebook terms is like a million years, there was this fact that you couldn't run ads with higher than 20% text, okay? So if you had an ad that was higher than 20% text in the image, it will get disapproved and rejected immediately. So the reality is that that changed. Now you are allowed to run ads with, you know, more than 20% text on your image or your videos, But according to Facebook, they will decrease your reach. Now there is a threshold for that. I think that's 40% or something, so above 30— I think it's above 40%. Don't quote me on that because I don't remember correctly, but I think it's above 40%. If you have only text in your ad, it will get disapproved. So it's not about 20% anymore, it's about a little bit more, like 40% or 35%. So if you're going at that route, your ad might get disapproved. If you go above 20%, there's this, you know, your ads might get a little bit less reach, which is kind of debatable because I have some ads out there with more than 20% text on them and they're working really, really well. So have that in mind. Now the 4th reason why your ads might not be approved is because you're referring to personal attributes of the viewer. Like for example, there's this this fine line when you are actually referring to personal attributes like ethnicity or race or religion from the personal viewer and you're actually targeting them. Like for example, you cannot say, hey Hernan, this t-shirt is for you, right? You cannot say that. Or you cannot say stuff like, meet other Christians, or, are you a Christian? Meet other people like you. Stuff like that, you know, so stuff that refers heavily to personal attributes are not gonna be approved, and that's kind of a, sometimes it's kind of subjective, you know, sometimes it's like blatant, you're playing with it like really bad, but sometimes it's kind of subjective because at the end of the day maybe the algo approves your ad, but then, you know, somebody from the policy team, they will disapprove it later on. So it's kind of subjective and you need to show people. That's a little bird right there. You need to show people why your ads are not that, you know, you're not referring to any kind of attributes or personal attributes, etc., etc. So have that in mind. And last but not least, and I know that I have a problem with this, is that grammar, spelling, and the whole general idea of that you need to write good. You need to write good. In order for your Facebook ads to really work. So have that in mind, you need to check with something like Grammarly. I use Grammarly in conjunction with Hemingway App. Grammarly would allow me to go through all of the grammar, spelling, and whatnot, and then Hemingway App will allow me to do my Facebook ads a little bit simpler because you want people to read them and you wanna have this in mind that your ads need to be simpler, to be simple, You don't need to use big words and whatnot, so have that in mind. Spelling, grammar, if you have a lot of spelling errors, a lot of grammar, like grammatically or grammar errors, that's a problem right there, your ads will potentially get disapproved. So there you have it, guys, 5 reasons why your ads might be disapproved. If you have any other reasons that you wanna discuss, I strongly suggest that A, you post in the comments below, tell me what you think. Tell me what kind of reasons you're getting. Maybe there's not a reason, okay? Maybe there's some— sometimes your ads are not getting approved and there's no evident reason for that. And if you think that you're playing by the rules, just resubmit it. But have this in mind, a lot of disapproved ads on your ad account, or if you have like a lot of disapproved ads at once, can get your ad account shut down. And the reality is that something that you launch today which is completely abiding by Facebook rules, maybe 6 months down the road it won't. And will get disapproved because you get your ads deactivated and then you're not running them anymore, but they will get disapproved at some point. So it's kind of a tricky system that they have. But anyways, it is what it is, right? So if you have any questions, et cetera, et cetera, go ahead and post them in the comments below. And number 2, come and join the free Facebook group and tell me what kind of ads you're getting disapproved because it's really important that we go through it together and we kind of gather this data, we crowdsource this data from Facebook so that we have a better idea on how to make our ads What is going on everybody? Welcome to another edition of Life with Hernan. I'm just kidding. We're gonna be talking about Facebook ads, right? It's a topic that you guys seem to like a lot. Sometimes, sometimes you hate it, sometimes you like it. But anyways, let's talk about how to get your ads finally delivering, you know, because that's a question that I get a lot on the free Facebook group, why my ads are not delivering. So let's dive right into it. Now with that said, I mentioned the free Facebook group and I've been mentioning for quite a while now and people there are loving it because you can actually join the free Facebook group and you can actually get answers to all of your questions when it comes to Facebook advertising, when it comes to sales funnels, email marketing, how to get better clients, and a lot of the good stuff. So there's gonna be somewhere around here a link so that you can join and start asking questions right away. And with that said, I have a lot of good— let me, let me share with you guys. I have a lot of videos over here, as you can see on the, on the channel. There's more and there's more. There's a lot of good stuff going on this channel. So all you need to do is just hit the subscribe button because there's gonna be a lot of the good stuff, and then you can binge-watch the YouTube videos that I've been putting out. Some people actually do that. I don't know why. I don't think that's healthy. But in any case, you can get a lot of the good stuff. So hit the subscribe button because there's gonna be a lot of the good stuff coming up. So let's talk about Facebook ads and Deliverability and why some of you guys are noticing that you launch an ad, it gets approved, everything is A-okay, everything is green, all systems go, but they're not delivering. Like you wait 24 hours or even not even that because you guys are launching ads and then 5 minutes later you're calling me and saying, hi, Hernan, I'm gonna die, my ads are not delivering. And I totally get it, but you need to first give it like 12 to 24 hours and see You see that your ads are not delivering. But after that, some of you guys are actually patient and you go about your life, you do some other stuff, pretending that you do have some social life, so you go out there, you do some other stuff, and then you come back and then you see all of those zeros, all those dots or dashes, whatever. That means that your ads are not delivering. So here are 4 main reasons why your ads could not be delivering. And what you need to do in order to actually start showing up and start delivering and actually start making money with your Facebook ads. So the issue number 1 is picking the wrong objective. I talked a lot about Facebook ads objectives and Facebook campaign objectives. There's gonna be a link somewhere around here, all by the hand of Cesar, my video guy. So as you can see there, there's gonna be a link over there so that you can watch the top campaign objectives that you can that you can actually choose for your Facebook ads. Now here's the deal, the Facebook pixel actually needs data for it to work. So if you're choosing an objective like purchases when you're running your Facebook ads and it's not delivering, try switching the objective to a previous step in the funnel. So let's say that you're running an ecommerce website or an ecommerce store. You have several steps on the funnel, right? Somebody lands on your store, that would count as a page view or sometimes a view content. Then they will go into the actual product, that will count as another view content. Then they will add to cart, that will count as an add to cart. They will add their checkout information, initiate checkout, and then they will purchase. So if the purchase campaign is not showing, what you may wanna do is to go back, edit the ad set, and change the objective to something else like initiate checkout or even page view. Because if your ads are converting and if your funnel and your store is well optimized, you will be able to get some results. So go ahead and change the campaign objective. That's number 1, and usually that fixes it. If it doesn't fix it, let's move into step number 2. Issue number 2 is that sometimes you're being outbid out of the bid of Facebook. As you might know already, Facebook works as an auction. It works based on bids, and sometimes you're going into really, really competitive markets and sometimes really competitive seasons. Like for example, if you try to advertise during the holiday season, November, December, you have a high chance of it not working because of the fact that everyone and their mother is dumping money on ads, so it goes to cost per 1,000 impressions, the CPM, to go up. So the way you counteract this is that if your ad sets are not advertising, it's just switch to some sort of manual bidding, like target bidding or something like that. So there's gonna be somewhere around here a graphic that will show you exactly how to do that. So all you need to do is to scroll down to the section that you see the bid and change from auto bidding to something like manual bidding. And then one pro tip here when you do manual bidding is to go a little bit higher than the desired CPA. So let's say that you're running ads for a webinar, the way you do it and you're willing to pay $2 per website lead or per webinar lead, what you wanna do is on the manual bidding or the target cost, you want to go ahead and add at least 200% CPA. So instead of $2, you'll go with $4 and see how that works. That could potentially solve your deliverability issues because again, you wanna bid high. Even if your budget is $5 or $10 a day for that specific ad set, you wanna bid high so that that will help you with the deliverability issue. Issue number 3 is that you can also go ahead and change the delivery method. So for example, the optimization window is, let's say that it's 1 day, you can change that to 7-day, to 7-day click, or I think it's 7-day click and 1-day view, something like that. You wanna change the optimization window because again, it all depends on if you're following with retargeting, if you're following up with emails and whatnot, so that will actually help you change the way the ad set and the algorithm work in that specific ad set. Because 9 times out of 10, it could be the fact that that ad set is not delivering because the algorithm doesn't have enough data. So change the optimization, the conversion window. That will actually help you potentially getting the initial traction that you wanna go ahead and get. And number 4 is to change the ad set creative altogether. So let's say that you're running an image ad, you want to try with a carousel ad or maybe a video ad. Usually videos get get more traction and engagement than images because Facebook will count a video view as an engagement. So if your ad starts getting engagement initially over the first 24 to 72 hours, you will get some decent traction that will potentially unlock the rest of the Facebook algorithm so it can start showing your ad and you can start actually getting delivery. But usually if the creative has worked well in the past, like if you're running an image ad and it has worked really well in the past, that's the last step of the 4. That's why I mention it last. I don't wanna switch the creative unless I necessarily 100% positively have to do it because I know that the creative side of things is usually, you know, it's usually the hardest and it's like changing the other stuff on the ad set level is usually faster and easier than changing the creative. the creative altogether, but sometimes it is what it is and you need to do it. So there you have it, guys. Now you have 4 tools in your arsenal and your toolbox, whatever you wanna call it, on the trunk of your car, your Facebook ads car, so that you can actually take them out and fix the wheels of your Facebook ads car so that it keeps on going forward. So if you have any questions, just go ahead and join the free Facebook group. It's completely free. You're gonna love it. We deliver a lot of the good stuff on that Facebook group. And if you want to subscribe, I'm not gonna get mad. In fact, I'm gonna get really, really happy because you subscribe to my channel, and I hope that you guys get a lot of value out of this channel, right? Hey, what's up everybody? Hernan Vasquez here, and welcome to this video. If you're new to this video series, if you're new to this channel, to this page, wherever you're watching this video, welcome. Thank you for taking the time to watching this. And if you have been around for a while, thank you for your support. I really do appreciate it. Now, the main idea with these videos is to help you taking your ads to the next level, your paid media to the next level. What the next level means is up to you, but for me it means more leads, more conversions, and basically more money, 100% ROAS or whatever that means. Now with that being said, you're welcome to join our free Facebook group. All you need to do is to go to hernanvasquez.com, which is spelled H-E-R-N-A-N V-A-Z quez.com/facebook and you will be able to join our free Facebook group. It's 100% free, you're welcome to join, ask questions and whatnot. It's pretty cool. I have mind maps in there, I have new tutorials pretty much every week, so it's cool. You're welcome to join. Now with that being said, let's talk about the Facebook learning phase. What is it? Okay, Facebook learning phase has been there for a while, since pretty much since they rolled out the conversion objective. But something that happened recently is that Facebook implemented a change, and it was like literally last week. As you know, Facebook implements changes pretty much on a daily basis at this point, and they have implemented that which makes the learning phase much more prominent in the Ads Manager. So now you can see a big yellow sign that means, or that says, learning limited, and a lot of people are freaking out. Like they're saying, what does this mean? My ads are not working, they're not performing, and whatnot. So on this video, I wanna put those fears to rest so that you can actually understand what that means and how you can solve it. So as you might or might not know, Facebook AI works better when it has a lot of data coming through it. What that basically means is that whenever you're choosing the conversion objective on your Facebook advertising, you're telling Facebook, hey Facebook, help me optimize, help me show my ads to these people that are more prone to convert. That basically means that if you have your pixel installed on your pages, Facebook will start learning and becoming smarter. And at some point, if you have been running enough volume and enough people are going through your funnel, then you can actually loosen your targeting. That means that you can target broader and broader and broader audiences and And Facebook will still do a great job bringing the type of people that you want to bring. I have a couple clients, you know, we're spending a couple hundred thousand dollars every month and we don't do a lot of targeting, right? We just target pretty much everyone in the world at this point. And Facebook can actually go out and find us buyers, find us leads, find us people that will actually go out there and buy my client's product. And that is, that is the purpose of of the entire Facebook algorithm, right? To go out there and find people that will buy, download your stuff, sign up for a webinar, apply for a phone call, or whatever your funnel might be. Now with that being said, Facebook needs to learn, okay? Facebook needs to learn what type of people are going through your funnel and what type of people are converting, but also what type of people are not converting. So Facebook is never not learning. So that's basically why I mean that if you have an ad that hasn't perform, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not performing. It might not be performing for you, but Facebook is knowing that those type of people are not performing, so I'm going to go out there and find other demographic, other interests to go through your funnel. So the learning phase, what Facebook is basically saying, the reps are saying, are telling us, is that Facebook, any given ad set, they need anywhere between 30 to 50 conversions per week to actually understand what's going on on your funnel. So 30 to 50 conversions per week per ad set. And if you're having less than that, that means that the learning will be limited. That's why you're seeing that yellow, you know, sign in your screen that is saying learning limited. Now, is that a bad thing? Well, not necessarily. The reason why is because if you're getting the results that you're looking for, let's say that you want to pay, I don't know, $3 per lead, and And if you are getting those $3 per lead, as long as you keep your budget consistent and the results are consistent, the limited learning might not affect your ads. So just because it says learning limited there, you shouldn't be freaking out. You shouldn't be changing anything if your ads are performing. Now with that being said, there is a little bit of math that you need to do to go out of the learning phase. All right, so that basically means this. Let's say that you're paying $3 per lead. Right, that you're running ads to a free PDF or a webinar or whatever that is, and you're paying $3 per lead. Now here's what happens if you're paying $3 per lead and if you have an ad set budget, an ad set level budget. That means that the budget on your ad set is like $10 at most. Any given day you can get 3, maybe 4 leads if Facebook will overspend on that any given day. Now, 3 leads per day times 7 days, that means that at most you can get 21 to maybe 25 leads. That is not enough for Facebook to go out of that learning phase. So, uh, alas, you will get that learning limited sign. Now again, if your ads are doing okay, don't freak out. Just keep them running. You don't need to touch them. But have in mind that there's a couple of things that you can do to go out of the learning phase faster. Number one is to actually spend more money. If you're getting the results that you're looking for, there's no reason why you wouldn't spend more money to make more money. So if you take it from $10 to $20 a day and the cost per lead stays the same, which might go up slightly, but it in some cases will stay the same, if that happens, That means that from 21 to 25, you went to, from that to maybe even 50 leads a day. That means that that will make that ad set get out of the learning phase. And you're basically spending double and you're getting the double amount of leads. That means that you're getting twice as much data into that ad set, which will make it go out of the learning phase faster. So it's basically a numbers game, right? If you're spending $10 a day and you're spending $5 a lead, then, and you're paying $5 a lead, you cannot expect Facebook to get a lot of data. So if at some point your funnel is working, then you can go ahead and increase the budget so that you can actually get more data going through the pixel. Now option number 2, I know that increasing the budget isn't always an option, so option number 2 is to actually optimize your ad set for an earlier step in the funnel. What do I mean? Let's say that you have 2 steps in your funnel. You have a landing page and you have a thank you page, right? The landing page where they see the PDF and They see the benefits, they see everything. That's where they put their email and contact information. Then the next page is the thank you page. Now the thank you page is the one that you want to trigger a lead event on, right? That's how you're signaling Facebook that you got a lead. But then on the first page, and this is something that a lot of media buyers don't do, is to actually trigger what's called a view content event. That means that people that are going through that funnel, that are seeing that page, maybe they're not opting in, but they're seeing that page, that means that it's a relevant view content for you. It's a relevant page view. So you want to trigger a view content event on that page. And maybe if you're not getting the results that you want, maybe instead of optimizing for leads, you want to launch a couple of new ad sets and optimize for view content of that specific page. You can do that through custom conversions. You can do that through a bunch of different ways. But what I'm saying is that if you optimize for that first event instead of the last event, or maybe for leads instead of purchasers, which might happen much later in the funnel, then at that point you will be feeding Facebook a lot of data much faster so that it can learn faster. Now again, if your ads are working, please don't do this, okay? Don't touch anything on the ads. Basically, don't do this. But if you want to experiment a little bit, go ahead, duplicate the ad sets and optimize for an earlier step in the funnel. Again, I don't recommend this. This is only if you want your ads to get out of the learning phase faster. But if you're seeing that bright yellow sign that's saying learning limited and you still want to, you know, keep— and you're getting results, just keep everything the same. You could spend a little bit more money though if you wanted to. So there you have it, guys. That's the learning phase and that's how Facebook understands who's going through your funnel, who's buying from you, who's downloading your stuff. Again, I don't think there's such thing as a bad ad or a bad ad set or bad campaign because worst case scenario You're buying data, you're making your Facebook pixel smarter, you're making your ecosystem as an advertiser smarter just by spending money on ads. I hope this helps you. If you have any additional questions, feel free to post them in the comments below or above, whenever you're seeing this video.
