A simple rule for managing ad sets: let them spend 1.5 to 2 times your target CPA, then label them red (stop), yellow (leave), or green (scale up 20%). This replaces guessing based on impressions or time.

So generally speaking, you're going to be making decisions on the regular green at the ad set level, and it's a matter of spend. So I like it to let it spend between 1.5 to 2 times my CPA before killing things or before scaling, right? Yeah. So after it's spent, I'm not— I don't go about— like, I know some people that say, oh, you need 5,000 impressions, or you need this, you need that, or you need to leave it running for 3 days. Here's what I like to do. I like to let it spend, right? I need to let it spend between 1.5 to 2 times CPA and then decide. So, for example, if your CPA is, I don't know, $40, you would let it spend until it spent $60 to $80, and then you will decide, is this a red? Is this a yellow? Is this a green? If it's a red, you stop. If it's a yellow, you don't touch it. If it's a green, you start scaling 20% in 48 hours.
