Swapping "how to" for "discover how to" in headlines increased conversions in A/B tests. Adding a concrete timeframe like "in 5 minutes or less" made promises feel more achievable and boosted performance further.

This was one of those weird tests where the smallest change made the biggest difference. We changed one word in the headline. That was it. Same offer, same page, same everything else. We tested how to X against discover how to X, and discover how to kept winning. I still can't fully explain why. Maybe discover feels a little softer. Maybe it feels less like a pitch and more like you're about to learn something useful. Or maybe people are just so used to seeing how to that they barely notice it anymore. I don't know. I just know the better performer kept being discover how to. And the other piece that really matters is the time part. In Z time or less. That helps because it makes the offer feel easier. It feels like a quick win, not some giant project they'll never finish. And it also makes the promise cleaner. You're not saying they'll get the result in that amount of time. You're saying they'll discover how in that amount of time. That's a big difference. So if you're testing headlines, that's one of the first things I'd try. Swap in discover how to, add a real timeframe that fits the offer, and see what happens. Sometimes a tiny change moves the numbers way faster than you'd expect.
