WHY YOUR FACEBOOK ADS ARE NOT WORKING IN 2018?

Hernan Vazquez breaks down why Facebook ads fail in 2018: algorithm changes and rising competition have spiked costs. Ads amplify whatever funnel you have, so a weak one wastes money no matter the spend. Build a profitable funnel first over three months, testing creatives and audiences, optimizing landing pages, then refining offers before scaling.

Hey everybody, what's up? On this video, let's find out why your Facebook ads are not working in 2018. Hey guys, what's up? Hernan here and welcome to another video, and thank you once again for all of the support. Everything that you guys have been giving me. And I'm kind of doing this shaky type of video because I just felt that it would be, I don't know, more approachable and we can have a one-to-one conversation, if you will, which is pretty cool. All right? So thank you guys for the support and the comments and everything that you have been giving to the channel. I really, really appreciate that. Now with that said, let's talk a little bit about Facebook ads in 2018 and why so much people are struggling to making them work. Now there's been a couple of changes when it comes to the Facebook algorithm. That's kind of undeniable. And you need to have that in mind. I think that at some point you could, I don't know, spend $5K on ads and you could get $150,000 back or something crazy like that. But those days are kind of long gone, number one. And number two, there's also this increased competition on Facebook ads which makes everything so much more expensive. Like for example, you could get a lead, I don't know, from a first world country, you could get a lead for $3 or $2 at some point on Facebook or even $1. And now you're paying anywhere between $5, $7, $10 for the same lead. So the competition is there, the timeline is completely sold out, like there's no more room for us to keep on advertising, so it's a matter of what kind of funnel you have behind your Facebook ads to make it work. So that's exactly what I wanna talk to you guys about today. And with that said, if you wanna discuss a little bit more about Facebook ads, general digital marketing, how to make your ads better and how to get more people that do not know who you are, that do not know you know, what you do and turn them into customers, which is pretty cool if you ask me, you need to come and join the free Facebook group. It's 100% free and I think you're gonna love it. Now let's talk about Facebook ads, and this is something that I made as a live event, right? I made like a livestream for my Facebook group, and the reality is that I get a lot of people since I have this YouTube channel and then, you know, I post on my Facebook page and Facebook group and whatnot. I have a lot of people coming in telling me and messaging me and saying, Hernan, you know, let's launch a couple of ads. I need you to run my Facebook ads campaign because we're gonna be millionaires, and if we do this, we're gonna get to the moon, and blah blah blah. And then I tell them, okay, that's great. I really appreciate you reaching out. What are your current numbers? Like, what's your funnel? Well, I haven't run ads yet. That's the answer. That might be answer number 1. Answer number 2 might be, well, you know, I'm running a couple of $10 a day campaigns, and we're profitable. And There's nothing wrong with that, don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with not running ads and there's nothing wrong with $10 a day campaign or $20 a day campaign. Believe me, I've been there. I know how you feel. I know what it is like to run at those levels. But here's the thing, everyone thinks that by running Facebook ads you're gonna solve all of your issues, all right? So there's this hype out there with Facebook advertising and any type of digital marketing in general, but Facebook ads is like you know, to the 10th is the fact that people think that if they run Facebook ads, their problems will go away because they've seen it on a course or maybe they've seen it online that, you know, people are killing it left and right or they're doing Shopify, they're doing multiple 7 figures a month or whatever. And the reality is that here's the thing, Facebook ads, and this is important, so Facebook ads will only amplify what's already there. Let me say that again. Your Facebook ads will only amplify what's already there. What I mean with this is that if you have a weak funnel, meaning, you know, you're spending $10 per day and you're kind of breaking even and kind of making some money, you know, one day you do make some money, the next day you don't, blah blah blah, and then you want to scale it, That's not gonna work because you need to go back, you need to work on your offer, you need to work on your funnel, and you need to make it super profitable at $10 a day. You need to be super wildly profitable at $10 a day. That way when you're scaling, when you're reaching people out like, you know, a marketing expert or Facebook ads expert to scale your campaigns, you have the ROI necessary that you need in order for you to scale your campaigns. And I'm gonna leave a link somewhere around here, there's an image on screen right now showing you that video that I made on how to scale your campaigns and what you need to have in mind in order to have your campaigns scaled up on Facebook ads, and that is one of the things that I talk about in that video. You need to have a big ROI from the beginning so that you're, you know, when you're scaling, you lose ROI but you're still profitable. So that's number 1. Number 2 is the fact that Facebook ads will only amplify what's already there. If your offer sucks, if you haven't nailed down your offer, if your product is not correctly priced, If your offer is not good enough, I'm sorry buddy, but all what you're gonna do is to lose money on your Facebook ads. So again, before running ads, any type of ads, Google ads, YouTube ads, etc., etc., go ahead and fix your offer. Now here's the thing, when you're starting out on Facebook and when you are running ads from Facebook to your landing pages, the initial stages, and this could be initial stages could be anywhere between, I don't know, 1 month to 3 months to 6 months, it doesn't really matter. It's all about gathering data. So for example, let's say that you have an opt-in, you have a webinar funnel and it's selling a $2,000 product or something like that, right? So the first month of running that campaign will be all about gathering your creatives and making your creatives better, right? Gathering your creatives, gathering your audiences, etc., etc. That will take you money. That will cost money because you're buying data from Facebook. Now month number 2, you will know what kind of audiences and creatives are working the best, so the next step is to actually, you know, test your webinar, how well it converts or how well the landing page converts. So if it's over 20%, then you're good to go. You can make it better, 30%, all right, that's great, you're good to go. Month number 2, you focus on tweaking your opt-in page. So you have your creatives, you have your audiences, now you have your landing page. Now month number 3, you make your webinar convert because maybe a lot of people are, you know, going through the webinar but they're not converting. So you make your webinar better. You make your follow-up sequence better. You make your reminder sequence better. You make your offer a little bit better. You price it differently. And that could take you anywhere between 1 to 2 to 3 months. So at that point you have 5 months in that you haven't recouped your investment or maybe you had, but you know, you're making some sales here and there but you haven't recouped your investment. Imagine that, you need to be spending money for 6 months or 5 months in order to get your money back, and that's not a small feature. So that is something that you need to have in mind when you go— when you approach any kind of advertising for that matter, all right? So a lot of companies, they have developed this process and they're ready and willing to lose money for 6 months, even a year, to make a winning funnel, because if you think about it, A winning funnel is an asset that can bring you money, leads, and clients forever, pretty much. All right, so you're developing an asset, and while you're developing that, you're buying data. All right, so it doesn't really matter what kind of ads you're running. Facebook ads are great because, you know, they have this algorithm going on and they will go ahead and find new buyers for you, but they will only amplify what's already there. So go ahead, take it slow. Before contacting somebody like a Facebook advertising expert or a marketing expert, go ahead, test it on your own. With $10, $50, $100 a day, something like that, that will allow you to, you know, get some money rolling in, get some data going in, and then you can reach out to people and say, hey, can you make it better? Can you help me make it better? And at that point, I love— I would love working with you because you have the data, you have the, you know, kind of the track record, if you would, that you have tested your offer and now it's working well. All right, so I just wanted to make that quick rant, that quick thing. I wanted to put it out there because again, Facebook ads are not magic. They require work. Digital marketing is not magic at all. It's super hard, but it's so, so rewarding and it's so cool, right? All right guys, so I hope this helps you.
