Well, hello you guys and welcome back to Helping Pets Live Longer. Today we're going to talk a little bit about taurine, a simple but effective way to ensure your pet's heart health. What is taurine? Well, it's an amino acid that's found in high levels in meat, fish, and eggs, but can be low or even absent in beans and legumes like soy and lentils. The significance of this then is that many of today's grain-free diets are deficient in taurine, and this can create heart problems in your pet. Taurine supplements are very simple and very cheap to use, and you should consider them anytime your pet has a heart problem like a mitral valve murmur, or if your pet is a breed that can be affected commonly by heart issues like Cavaliers and Dobermans. If you have any questions about taurine or the health of your pet, please feel free to reach out to me at drkevin@thelongevityvet.com. Again, my email is Dr. Kevin, D-R-K-E-V-I-N, at thelongevityvet.com. We are all in this together, and I will try to help you if I can. Thanks again for visiting Helping Pets Live Longer, and have a great day.
