Dr. Kevin Toman shares four nutrition claims: cutting calories by 25% adds 1.8 years to a pet's life, raw or home-cooked meals add 2.3 years versus kibble, and kibble processing creates compounds that appear 122 times more concentrated in dogs than humans. But 70% of home-cooked diets lack proper nutrition without veterinary guidance.

Well, hey you guys and welcome. I'm the Longevity Vet, but you can call me Kevin, and in today's video we're going to talk about 4 things you should know about your pet's diet. Point number 1 is that the best diet for your pet is less. By reducing your pet's calories by 25%, you can extend their lifespan by up to 1.8 years. Proven fact. Point number 2 is that raw or home-cooked diets will extend your pet's lifespan by up to 2.3 years when compared with traditional kibbles. Again, proven fact. Point number 3 is that the old-fashioned kibbles that have been cooked at high temperatures just simply suck for our pets. And this hurts because I fed my dogs kibbles for many years, but I just didn't know. Now we know that the high temperatures used in kibble production both reduce nutrient value and increase the level of inflammatory precursors in our pets' diets. In fact, one study showed that our dogs' diets contain 122 times more inflammatory precursors than do typical human diets. And this does nothing but increase cancer risk for our pets. The last point I'll make is that if you're home cooking for your pet, almost 70% of the time our home-cooked diets are nutritionally imbalanced. So if you cook for your pet like I do, let's make sure we use a veterinary consultant to balance our, our pets' diets. I'm Dr. Kevin Toman. I run helpingpetslivelonger.com, and I do free longevity strategy sessions 4 days a week. I'll put the link below. Have a great day. Bye now.
